Hate to burst the bubble but there is no trick. You have a fixed set of % on each rarity + a positive or negative streak modifier. That makes sure that you do not get to good of a run but that you at least get a 4 star every now and then. It is intentionally designed to tempt you on.
You know it's A better chance when you us the green open Button On the top left corner above the briefcases to open it for you 5/10 times u get something good plus you can open multiple at a time
People who keep spending money on these game and apps with loot box's are ruining the game industry and making this the norm. I remember a time when you could earn all unlockable just by playing the game you already paid for. Its nothing more than gambling and i for one can't stand it.
