Many people have done instrumentals on the episodes before, but to see the official versions get released is even more amazing. When Gordon came out of the tunnel, the music sounded like Gordon was rushing to Thomas' rescue or something.
More like Gordon trying to gain traction and speed to pursuit Thomas, but he can't, it's likely because that his heavy express train is dragging him back!😂🤣😂🤣
I remember excitedly coming home from school one day, back when I was 8 years old, exclaiming to my mom that in music class, we heard a tune that I had previously heard in Thomas and Friends. Fast forward to when I was 12, and was learning the William Tell Overture in middle school orchestra, realizing that it was the piece I heard on "Thomas and the Jet Engine". Fast forward later on, and I can now play orchestral music at a professional level, having a deep appreciation of Rossini's work. All the while, I never forgot hearing the "March of the Swiss Soldiers" in its E Major key on Thomas and Friends. Truly, you and Mike O'Donnell are wonderful musicians and composers! I remember when I was at Gosberton House School and I heard the classical music of William Tell Overture, the music sounded so familiar to me, I was like: "I heard this similar sounding music in Thomas & Friends!" And even in an assembly where The First Years Centre did their assembly about Thomas the Tank Engine, at the end I remember Mrs Strutt saying something about this music and coincidentally as all the classes left, the William Tell Overture music played. And then about 7 years later, when I was looking at the Thomas the Tank Engine Wikia, and I looked at the episode Thomas the Jet Engine, it said in the trivia section that it was the second episode to have a rendition of the William Tell Overture music, the first being Busy Going Backwards. I then latterly learnt that Rheneas and The Roller Coaster and The Runaway Elephant also had the music too.
Sam Bee this music didn’t work in Rheneas And The Roller Coaster and The Runaway Elephant but it worked amazingly in Busy Going Backwards and Thomas The Jet Engine

...I think I speak for everyone here when I say "PLEASE DO MORE OF THIS" ;-D (from a technical standpoint, you might want to check the amplitude though, it's 'peaked' and clipped a few times here, most obvious on the very last notes of the final cue). Still, stellar work all around, I'm just happy to hear this clearly for the first time!
I know, I know, just that being a bit of an audiophile, I get a bit twitchy when quality dips like that affect an otherwise stupendous piece.. Easy fix though, just has to load the original recording at a lower volume (by my count, about 10dB lower) - but it's hard to fix from our end, which is why I mentioned it - Junior's usually pretty good at keeping his recordings in good quality, and why shouldn't he be? ;-D (also I'm trying not to giggle at how two of the fandom's more famous musicians both replied to this thread..). XD
If you are open to posting more, could you do some from Series 2 or 3, or TUGS? Maybe you already know this but they're the only series not to have stereo masters for the final episode mixes, so we've never heard, say, any of Duck's themes, The Viaduct Theme, or Oliver's 'Escape' Suite in stereo before. (We also have never heard the Busy Harbour Theme in full either, as the only time it was used went to fade-out...) I for one vote either The Viaduct Theme, Edward's S2 Theme or The Bridge Cafe Band as my favourites of yours and Mike's. ;-D

I do remember way back in 2007, when I was 3 years old, and I watched Thomas the Jet Engine for the first time, on The Complete Sixth Series DVD. I was really inspired by that episode and from then to now, it’s my all-time favourite Thomas & Friends episode!

It's remarkable how you managed to make this theme with nothing but 12-bit and 16-bit instruments played on a sampler keyboard that was nearly 20 years old at the time you recorded music for Season 6. Stellar work, and once again, thank you very much for making, and as of now, bringing back my childhood!

As a child I would watch Busy Going Backwards over and over again because of this theme, (and the runaway of course) needless to say though you were (excuse this pun) instrumental, in making my childhood. This show is timeless to me, despite the way the franchise is looking now, nothing can ever change the classic series and the amazing work you guys put into it. It really is a privilege to hear a clean version of this. Longevity is the word. These themes still stand the test of time. Ever since a new composer was hired in 2004; we've never really had any music that defined the characters till Adventure Begins which featured some great new renditions of the music we knew and loved.

Charm, beauty, realism, and most of all, quality. Britt, David etc. could not have hired better musicians. I hope it isn't asking too much, but Thomas's theme from Thomas and the Trucks, including the runaway section of the theme is my favourite of your compositions ever and hearing that in all its clean glory...you've no idea how many tears of happiness I would shed to hear that. :')
There are few characters that give me as much comfort as Thomas the Tank Engine. The same can be said for the show's now iconic score. Thank you, Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell. Reverend W Awdry's beloved tank engine will live on in my heart, forever and always, and your music will never leave my memories of childhood :).
Every time I listen to your music it makes me think of my grandfather who introduced me to the wonderful world of The island of sodor through the original railway series books and then this TV show. You are awesome.

I remember when I watched Thomas and the Jet Engine. It was on a DVD and came with a Tomy engine with the Jet Engine and car with it. I also remember Gordon Takes a Tumble, was a pretty good episode of Season 6.
Some of my favorite work from you and Mike came from Seasons 6 and 7, and "Thomas the Jet Engine's" score was one of the scores that solidified my opinion on that. I'm so stoked to hear it music only.

Thomas and the Rocket Engine: The most intense moment in my young childhood.
You and Mike did it best - from keeping me on the edge of my seat with this, to scaring the shit out of me with the Ghost Train theme, nothing will ever beat those good-old synths and that absolute nostalgia overload with the Proteus modules. You guys rock.
It's really amazing to listen to your and Mikes music. This theme from Thomas and the Jet Engine was, in my opinion, a great example of what Thomas the Tank Engine was about. Charm, beauty, realism, and most of all, quality. Britt, David etc. could not have hired better musicians. With all do respect, I don't think even you know how much this community appreciates your music. I truly thank you and Mike for what you have given all of us.

This was one of the themes I've wanted to hear completely clean ever since I was a child, and you've granted that wish.
I hope it isn't asking too much, but Thomas's theme from Thomas and the Trucks, including the runaway section of the theme is my favourite of your compositions ever and hearing that in all its clean glory...you've no idea how many tears of happiness I would shed to hear that. :')

There are few characters that give me as much comfort as Thomas the Tank Engine. The same can be said for the show's now iconic score. Thank you, Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell. Reverend W Awdry's beloved tank engine will live on in my heart, forever and always, and your music will never leave my memories of childhood :).

I remember when I watched Thomas and the Jet Engine. It was on a DVD and came with a Tomy engine with the Jet Engine and car with it. I also remember Gordon Takes a Tumble, was a pretty good episode of Season 6.

Some of my favorite work from you and Mike came from Seasons 6 and 7, and "Thomas the Jet Engine's" score was one of the scores that solidified my opinion on that. I'm so stoked to hear it music only.

For years I was convinced I remembered this from my childhood, but never knew it was actually real. I used to have a lot of the VHS releases of the show.
