i sure will, already pointed some guys here! Question though, i have come to find after reading some forums that airmode actually is NOT the same as disabling motor stop. I went looking after having some bad chopped throttle experiences. Do you know of a way of actually enabling airmode? A nice addition to your video might be that the newer versions of cleanflight DO NOT work with the rodeo. Have to use 1.2.0.
+supergrooover correct, Airmode maintains the micro corrections to keep the quad stable, I believe that the PIDs are essentially still active for Airmode whereas with basic idle up they're not.
DroningON.co alrighty then! And do you know of a way to get airmode switched on? Maybe you could make a tutorial about flashing the latest cleanflight to rodeo 150, that would be awesome! I have found some German flashing betaflight even, so I guess it's possible.

DroningON.co I got the drone to bind. But in my cleanflight. In my modes it's all empty And lost range for angle and horizon. And also my drone flips over when I give it throttle.
+Christopher Patrick, have you checked to verify that you have the correct props on the correct motors? Also, if you gently power up, are all motors spinning?

I was trying to get the modes set up on my Arris 250B and I took me a while to get the modes I wanted and I didn't know how I did it. so now I know thank you so so much! Good video! :) More basic tips (to next video): 1. Calibrate Devo7 sticks. (sometimes not perfect calibrated in factory) 2. Set sticks centers closer to 1500 -- on devo 7 funtcion->subtrim menu 3. set sticks endpoints closer to 1000 (low) 2000 (high) -- on devo 7 funtcion->trvad menu (100% sometimes just 1200-1800) 4. set FIX ID (on devo7 model menu) make chance to control came back after failsafe.

Thanks for the video, but I am running into a problem. When I have my Rodeo connected the CleanFlight app returns a warning that non-Cleanflight/Betaflight is not supported. My Rodeo is factory default. Should I have done something prior to your video to enable Cleanflight at all? Are there different versions of the Rodeo around?
Hi Ash I'm a bit late to the party. I watched and commented on your original flight review of the Rodeo150 but neglected to subscribe back then. I have more than my fair share of senior moments these days. Even though I have more powerful race quads I still think the Rodeo150 is Walkera's little unsung hero and for the last few months it has been my favourite to fly. Even though I'd already enabled many of the features you've highlighted here the video was still very interesting and excellently presented. The only thing I've done differently is to use one of Walkera's low profile VTX antennas, it was originally fitted to a nasty 720p iLook camera/VTX combo that had been previously retired after updating to a 1080p iLook camera. I think the antenna is available separately. It has the big advantage that there's next to no chance of breaking in a tumble and it doesn't need removing when the quad is packed away in its case, so no chance of powering up without an antenna connected to the VTX resulting in a painful face meet palm moment. oh yes I followed your video to the LETTER because it was very well done and super ez to follow. my thing is my clean flight dose not have the tab for air mode for the rodeo...now on my echine tilt..I have the option in clean flight, did I miss a walkera update? because it's not on my rodeo 210 as well. before your video I had to arm my quad with that trim trick. so maybe I need to update the F3?
+SlNlST3R thanks for your comments, hope that you're subscribed! Have you programmed one of your switches to be the lost model beeper? If so, ensure that the switch isn't turned on. The other point, ensure that you first turn on your transmitter and then immediately power up the Rodeo 150 and place it flat on the ground. Then wait until the Rodeo 150 gives some additional beeps before picking it back up to fit the battery cover in place.
SINIST3R.. I think you should re-load original Rodeo 150 to solve the problem. FInd it and do restore. but first ,u must have CF old version (1.2.0) github.com/cleanflight/cleanflight-configurator/releases
Great video buddy. I fly my rodeo for the last couple of months. I started fpv using quanum cyclopes which are great but I never connected my rodeo to pc. Thanks to your video I will try very soon. Thanks mate. On that note do you think rodeo is compatible with 3s battery? cheers!

Great video but I can't get my fail-safe to work now. I power off the tx and the motors keep spinning until I unplug the power. I try to access the fail-safe menu in cleanflight but just sits there saying waiting for data.... any ideas? I did manage to set the buzzer switch to activate when the fail-safe activates but not the motor shutdown.

Thanks for the comment! You can upgrade the firmware but to be honest it might not be worth it as Walkera use proprietary versions of CleanFlight, therefore reflashing can cause issues! BE SURE TO SUBSCRIBE!
Betaflight and cleanflight configurator won't run properly? I have downloaded all of the correct software and firmware updates? The interface picture won't appear on beta or cleanflight. I have tried for hours. Any suggestions please..?
I cannot get on to cleanflight with my rodeo 150 I have tried my laptop, tablet and phone. I ended using EZ GUI app and I have lost my low voltage warning. Do you have any suggestions Please? I have downloaded all of the cleanflight drivers and the 150 drivers but it still won't open it says port successfully open and then it says port successfully closed?
liking your videos dude. I have a few questions. Can you use clean flight for the Walkera Rodeo 110? If So is there a toggle option to switch the led light on and off?
+Cuffy Bigglesworth I have a 110 ready for review and so hopefully I can confirm soon. Does it ship with Cleanflight or Betaflight? It might be that the lights are hard wired rather than connected to the FC, in which case you won't be able to programme them.

Hi, I just bought the WR150, turn on drone, then the dev7, start motors and lift off. I fly on beginers mode and the rodeo its all the time moving to one side or to the front. Do I need to calibrate or do something else??? thanks !
Hi thanks for the great clip so far so good. My question my 110 is drifting forward and to the right, I can use the trim on the transmitter to correct this, flying indoors with no wind. What do I need to calibrate in cleanflight to correct for the drift, I would like to keep my transmitter trims centered. Thank You
+RC944jim - here's one thing that you can try - with the quad and transmitter on, disarm and set throttle to full, then hold left roll for about 1 second, then back to center, then the same again 2-3 times. Then throttle back to zero, arm the quad and take off, see if that cures the drift? Its a trick in Cleanflight which adds accelerometer offset.

I believe that there are some guides online which tell you how to setup the Rodeo 150 with the out-of-the-box settings, have a Google and see if you can find it, alternatively let me know and I'll see what I can find for you.
HI accidentally reset the PIDS on clmeanflight for my rodeo 150. Can you plz tell me the default pids? (For some reason my version of cleanflight only allows numbers without the decimals. i might have the older version) Thanks

Since updating firmware so that Cleanflight works, I am unable to bind with my Devo 7 to finish the tips, let alone fly it again. Any ideas? Also the 150 would continue beeping until it ha bound, but now it only beeps 3 times and sits there just flashing.
+KennyLee NYC, I wouldn't recommend it - the Rodeo 150 is very lightweight and the battery time is short already, adding any additional weight would not be wise.
I use one Devo 7 transmitter for 2 Rodeo 150's if I set one up the way you explain in this video is there a way to transfer those setting to the second Rodeo.
+RC944jim absolutely! In the first Rodeo that you setup, go into the flight controller software and select CLI, run the Dump command - this will output all settings, then copy and paste this set of commands into the CLI of the second Rodeo, then type 'Save' and that should be it?
Is clean flight compatible with Mac? I have downloaded the app but when ever I try to connect my rodeo to the USB it does not connect and it does not show the port any ideas or suggestions?
+Lachlan Peknice, absolutely you can - under the 'Modes' tab of CleanFlight, you'll see 'Airmode' listed there - all you need to do is assign that mode to one of the switch ranges. Does that make sense or does this need another video :)
Much like yours, the air mode tab doesn't show up automatically when I plug in my f210? I cannot find the air mode switch selection tab anywhere?? Any ideas? Thanks!
+Lachlan Peknice, it might be that you're not running the most recent version of Cleanflight, this feature has been available in Betaflight for some time but is fairly new to Cleanflight I believe. It might be worth upgrading your F210 to Betaflight as I have.
One tip never klick on reset settings i did that and i thath that he would go back to factory settings but deletet everything so know that first, and i have one question do someone know how high i can turn the rpm up i see the other quads stand on 2000 so this one too? Hey, which cleanflight version did you use. I read in the walkera forums one was saying that the new version 1.2.4. Corrupts the walkeras, and you should use version 1.2.0. Which doesn't download properly unless I'm missing something. Any advice would be great before I attempt to install.

DroningON.co I finally did this setup and it worked exactly the same on my F210. What did you do with the failsafe, for example if you test it and shut the controller off after 5-6 seconds the Props don't stop the only drop to the Speed set with MOTOR STOP set to spin at zero throttle. My concern is if you do indeed end up loosing signal and the failsafe activates the Props will still be spinning and could possible burn the Motors or speed control if it lands somewhere on the Props. It there a way to set the fail safe so when it shuts the Motors off to drop them down to zero RPM with this setting?
Hi I need your help again, I now have a Walkera F215 what is happening near the end of my flight when the warning lights on the back start to flash I have to land immediately or it looses power the motors are still armed and spinning but it won't lift off. Is there something I can change in cleanflight to give me an earlier warning to land like 30 sec. I did search TH-cam but didn't come up with anything. 4S 1300mHA. 60C lipo used. I like to keep my cells around 3.7 V. Thank You
+RC944jim sounds to me that your battery is nearing end of its flight time, when 5he voltage is too low the quad won't son the motors, that's the time to change to a charged battery.
Yes that much I know but nothing else I fly stops that quick after the warning, I general get 30 seconds. Is there nothing I can change using cleanflight to get an earlier warning? Thanks

I have flashed the F210(3d)V0.05_usb.hex Then I copied the content of "F2103d_configV0.0.4.txt" into CLI of Cleanflight 1.2.0 put ENTER and appear this: # {"generatedBy":"1.2.0","apiVersion":"1.13.0","pr Unknown command, try 'help' I realised that F2103d_configV0.0.4.txt has not a "dump" format but I don't know why
DroningON.co I have found the solution. The. txt must be restored using RESTORE option in the Setup tab because it is not a command file to use with CLI. I think It could be corrected in your tutorial. Thanks for your help

Great as always. I know this is a Rodeo vid but I desperately need your help. I just read the posts from you and the Walkera Forum Admin and I am still a fan of yours(and him as well). I have Deviation on my Devo 10 and Cleanflighted my F210 3D and they still aren't playing nice. I notice when pairing the 2, the rear lights are responding to my TX sticks but the F210 3D still constantly beeps and doesn't power up the motors. I did a reinstall of the Original Walkera F210 3D Firmware supplied by "Mr. Walkera Forum Admin" and a complete reinstall of Deviation on my DEVO 10 but still no motor spin! Can you please help as I know I am not the only one experiencing this. I tried your "Fix bricked F210" directions from your website but "Mr. Walkera Forum Admin" said to uninstall Cleanflight since it cannot be read by the F210 3D(although it did). I miss flying and would like to get back into it ASAP. Can I just mail you both my F210 3D and Devo 10 and pay you to fix it so they both work again? ;) Thanks.
+Dave Silva hey thanks for the comment and yes Mr Admin in the Walkera forums is a pretty unfriendly fella, I won't be revisiting and my last comment was my last. In terms of your F210 3D, it's a tricky one as the regular F210 has a fairly standard FC it seems, whilst the 3D version is more complex due to the 3D ESCs, therefore the lock/unlock process is proprietory and there doesn't seem to be a way to get it working. I would flash your 3D back to the factory firmware, unfortunately with that model you don't seem to have any choice :(
It is an excellent tutorial and I tried to follow you step buy step . I plugged the 150 to usb and my laptop found and installed the driver. Next I downloaded the Cleanflight app. It showed com3 and if I drop down the list there is com6 and manual. But when I click connect nothing happens. A message pops up that the firmware is not compatible. On walkera site there is some files for download but I’ don’t understand what these are because they seem configured files for cleanflight and the r159 but there is no more info. there is a video how to connect the 110 using a clean flight and update firmware version they have in the 110 section. If I remove and download this that clean flight version then it connects however it seems the orientation front back is not correct. But I did not dare do anything else. I wish to have your set up on it it makes more sense. I’m using windows 7 any one with same issue?
hi, since today i got a problem with my rodeo 150. i connect it today for the first time to cleanflight, looking through all different option cards and possibilitys, and on the bottom are some infos shown, and it says I2C Error : 4 and Packet Error: 9 but i am pretty sure to not change any option and or save it! at the end my laptop crashes while i hit the disconnect button... i disconnect the usb cabel, and tried to fly the rodeo, but i am not shure, it did not bind or i am not able to arm or disarm any longer... it beebs but i cant connect... and i got the devo7 from the rtf version. pls help me obi wan.... no fun.. but i need serious help! kind regards from germany
I have the same problem. I had a crash in the pid section i never changed anything but now i cant bind . It wont even beep . It only does the first part of the tone . I can see the fc in clean flight i can control the motors but cant bind the fc is not even searching
Please help me lol I got some dumb reason hit reset setting to default and now I my drone just beeps like it's not binding to the transmitter and I can't figure out how to bind it back to the transmitter. I can't arm it or anything!
+Ecoi Villesis, did you actually have an antenna attached to the Rodeo 150 whilst configuring? If so, then don't worry about the heat, it is normal for VTX's to get rather warn when sat idle. It isn't necessarily healthy for the VTX but it is normal.
yes i did! after that i noticed that the plastic cover and the anthenna slightly hot even when im fying the rodeo150 that part slightly hot sorry for my english
Yeah that's fine, the VTX will always get warm/hot when powered up, although the Rodeo 150 does have a habit of getting a bit too hot at times, the ESC's sometimes melt!
New problem when hooking up my Rodeo 150 with C/F I get a message Non cleanflight/BetaFlight firmware is not supported except for CLI mode. Using configurator 2.0.0 tried on 2 different windows 10 computers also deleted and reloaded C/F in Chrome. Any ideas? 🤔 the 150 is making connection with C/F unless I'm doing something wrong. Thanks I should add the Rodeo flies fine and no changes have been made before I tried connecting to C/F. Well I figured it out, why Cleanflight developers forced an update 2.0.0 I do know it doesn't work for a lot of people. I got some help on. Facebook was told to download 1.2.4 again and load it back into Chrome. All is well for now 👍
The Rodeo F150 does not connect to Cleanflight version 2.0.0 and above. If you do so on connection it will say that clean flight is not compatible to 3rd Party firmware. Download older Cleanflight release such as 1.2.4 from here github.com/cleanflight/cleanflight-configurator/releases Download the cleanflight zip file version you want test and place it in a folder on your pc that you can easily find. Then the right hand corner of Chrome you see 3 dots stacked vertically. Click and go to "More tools" > "Extensions" A new screen is loaded. The top of the screen there is a Blue Bar with Extensions heading. At the right top of the screen there is a slider developer tools . Slide it to the right. Then 3 buttons appear. Load Unpacked / Pack Extension / Update. Click load extension. A browsing box appear. direct path to were you saved the zipped Cleanflight configurator You will see that there is Clean flight added. Go to Chrome Apps launcher and run the Cleanflight Download the drivers Shut down restart pc. Enter Chrome Connect the F150 to your pc Then hit connect and follow Droningon video..... :)
hiya. I have just my 110 through and it isn't connecting up. I have installed said drivers but it won't connect up. I know this is a video recording the 150, because they are similar I am just wondering if you had to do something or download something which hasn't been specified on the vid
hiya, thanks for replying. It has come up with bootlog failed and doesn't do anything when I try to connect the quad up to betaflight and cleanflight. I have no clue now how to proceed. My Devo 7 Transmitter no longer works with my Quad. I only did this because the Quad was stuck on Horizon mode. I have been advised to open up the top of the Quad and press the Bootlog Button but apparently that is risky. I don't intend to do that because so far the advice I have been given has just screwed the Quad up even more. Again I don't know how to proceed. I doubt I would be able to get a replacement or a refund now because I was trying to fix it through the advice I got on here and on Facebook. I am not blaming you as it was my choice to fiddle about with it. I think though in future just say fiddling about with the firmware could cost you your warranty and it isn't guaranteed to fix
noob question here... but what does it mean if none of my switches make a difference when I flick them on or off in cleanflight, only my mix switch makes movements.. if I still choose Aux 2 to use for arm/disarm will it work?
That's exactly what i was hoping/guessing! I am using a DEVO 7 that was came with a RTF runner 250, I just bound it to my 150.. and I may have messed a couple steps up
+kmcquiston88, not a noob question at all, don't worry. which transmitter are you using? Sounds like you simply need to either alter the Output mapping of your TX or alter the channel map within Cleanflight?
+kmcquiston88, I'm not sure whether or not the Devo7 has a channel output mapping, but check the 'Channel Map' on the 'Receiver' tab and try altering the 1/2/3/4 - also, move your Aux switches and see if any of the channels move.
I'm sorry, but when you say alter the 1234 do you mean like try 4321 or 1243? Haha sorry again.. also It has a output option on my Devo 7, has like gear, and aux2 for options
I really want to put my quad in air mode.. but with my switches not moving in cleanflight I can't change the arm/disarm switch and it's risky crashing upside down with motors trying to spin..

Thanks I'll take a look 👌 Well no option for the Rodeo 150 or the F110, but there is on the F215 that comes setup from Walkera with Air Mode on the top right switch. I did move the Motor Arm to the Gear switch
+Funk Brother's Adventure's I find that the Rodeo 150s LV warning kicks in at about the right level for most batteries - I wouldn't recommend reducing it any further because of the drop in voltage during even the most minor of throttle leaks on this quad.

+Steady, Walkera do seem to be known for unpredictable failsafe systems on their quads, unfortunately. I suspect that you'll need to upgrade the firmware to overcome this but I do not know for sure.
I'm new to cleanflight I've tryed 3 laptops and 2 data leads and still can't connect to clean flight one laptop said no available drivers ? I've tried everything I'm doing something wrong but don't know as new to it Please help
I uploaded clean flight on my iMac OS10,with Google chrome. The app works, but I can't seem to get the drivers I need? I connect the Rodeo 150 to it with the USB,but nothing happens, and get a message connection failed?
I got the old PC out, and the clean flight loaded, and worked flawlessly! Do you have any recommended settings for exponential on this quad? It feels "twitchy" to me in the acro mode. Thanks,Ron

+Christopher Patrick be sure to turn on the transmitter first, then immediately plug in the Rodeo 150 and set it down on flat surface...Then after it beeps to confirm setup, you can pick it up and close the battery bay?

I dont know how to connect to that site(if possible) you only can download there and then use that to flash it from cleanflight but it would be easy if i know where the board is running on than you only have to klick on that by cleanflight klick the newest edition and flash it
I can not get clean flight to connect to my laptop it's keeps saying fail serial port. How do I install drivers to use cleanflight. It will work on a friends computer although he has a more up to date system.

Travis Waner you need to install the cp210x driver. Search stm drivers in google also. I have to check later to tell you exactly. Since then I have it working now. I have to look but try that first.
Hi i have got a few problems with connecting my rodeo 150. Everytime i click connect i get the message that cleanflight and betaflight are no supported. Please help me I'm getting frusted about this evertime i try to solve this problem.
Thanks for the comment +Franz Stadler, are you using the right version of CleanFlight? Remember that the Rodeo 150 has an old firmware and so you might need to use an older CF version to connect to it.

Seven months later my drone just wants to turn to the right side everytime i arm it. So the props always touch the ground if i want to start. I already connected it to cleanflight an the sensors are in 0 if put the drone on the ground but however it turns itself everytime to the right side and i don`t know why... please help me ^^

Right so you're seeing these odd symbols in the CLI right? I'd suggest that you're trying to use the wrong configurator - in other words, if the FC has CleanFlight installed, you must use the CleanFlight configurator to configure it, make sense?
+Harry Bunn, the Rodeo 150 is shipped with Cleanflight as standard (unfortunately). I wanted to keep this guide simple for those just wishing to make minor tweaks that are not used to configuring their quadcopters. Flashing Betaflight would also mean having to reconfigure the quad entirely, I didn't want to get too indepth for this basic high-level guide.

+lookupitsgreg have you checked that your throttle trimmer is at zero? Did you also turn on the transmitter first, then plug in the Rodeo, place it flat level, wait for the beep and only then close the battery bay?
Its not a drone for aerial photography, its more for racing via FPV, i.e. wearing a headset. In terms of skill-level, I would say beginner to intermediate.

i sure will, already pointed some guys here! Question though, i have come to find after reading some forums that airmode actually is NOT the same as disabling motor stop. I went looking after having some bad chopped throttle experiences. Do you know of a way of actually enabling airmode? A nice addition to your video might be that the newer versions of cleanflight DO NOT work with the rodeo. Have to use 1.2.0.
+supergrooover correct, Airmode maintains the micro corrections to keep the quad stable, I believe that the PIDs are essentially still active for Airmode whereas with basic idle up they're not.
DroningON.co alrighty then! And do you know of a way to get airmode switched on? Maybe you could make a tutorial about flashing the latest cleanflight to rodeo 150, that would be awesome! I have found some German flashing betaflight even, so I guess it's possible.

DroningON.co I got the drone to bind. But in my cleanflight. In my modes it's all empty And lost range for angle and horizon. And also my drone flips over when I give it throttle.
+Christopher Patrick, have you checked to verify that you have the correct props on the correct motors? Also, if you gently power up, are all motors spinning?

this helped me understand the flight modes. I was trying to get the modes set up on my Arris 250B and I took me a while to get the modes I wanted and I didn't know how I did it. so now I know thank you so so much! More basic tips (to next video):
1. Calibrate Devo7 sticks. (sometimes not perfect calibrated in factory)
2. Set sticks centers closer to 1500 -- on devo 7 funtcion->subtrim menu
3. set sticks endpoints closer to 1000 (low) 2000 (high) -- on devo 7 funtcion->trvad menu (100% sometimes just 1200-1800)
4. set FIX ID (on devo7 model menu) make chance to control came back after failsafe.

Thanks for the video, but I am running into a problem. When I have my Rodeo connected the CleanFlight app returns a warning that non-Cleanflight/Betaflight is not supported. My Rodeo is factory default.
Should I have done something prior to your video to enable Cleanflight at all?
Are there different versions of the Rodeo around?

I'm a bit late to the party. I watched and commented on your original flight review of the Rodeo150 but neglected to subscribe back then. I have more than my fair share of senior moments these days.
Even though I have more powerful race quads I still think the Rodeo150 is Walkera's little unsung hero and for the last few months it has been my favourite to fly. Even though I'd already enabled many of the features you've highlighted here the video was still very interesting and excellently presented. The only thing I've done differently is to use one of Walkera's low profile VTX antennas, it was originally fitted to a nasty 720p iLook camera/VTX combo that had been previously retired after updating to a 1080p iLook camera. I think the antenna is available separately. It has the big advantage that there's next to no chance of breaking in a tumble and it doesn't need removing when the quad is packed away in its case, so no chance of powering up without an antenna connected to the VTX resulting in a painful face meet palm moment.

oh yes I followed your video to the LETTER because it was very well done and super ez to follow. my thing is my clean flight dose not have the tab for air mode for the rodeo...now on my echine tilt..I have the option in clean flight, did I miss a walkera update? because it's not on my rodeo 210 as well. before your video I had to arm my quad with that trim trick. so maybe I need to update the F3?

+SlNlST3R thanks for your comments, hope that you're subscribed! Have you programmed one of your switches to be the lost model beeper? If so, ensure that the switch isn't turned on. The other point, ensure that you first turn on your transmitter and then immediately power up the Rodeo 150 and place it flat on the ground. Then wait until the Rodeo 150 gives some additional beeps before picking it back up to fit the battery cover in place.

+Greg Zelent thanks for the comments, glad that you found the review useful! I wouldn't connect a 3s to it, the extra power would be nice but flight time would be short because of the additional weight - it's a tough balance really - just buy a bigger quad :)
Great video but I can't get my fail-safe to work now. I power off the tx and the motors keep spinning until I unplug the power. I try to access the fail-safe menu in cleanflight but just sits there saying waiting for data.... any ideas? I did manage to set the buzzer switch to activate when the fail-safe activates but not the motor shutdown.

Thanks for the comment! You can upgrade the firmware but to be honest it might not be worth it as Walkera use proprietary versions of CleanFlight, therefore reflashing can cause issues! BE SURE TO SUBSCRIBE!
Betaflight and cleanflight configurator won't run properly? I have downloaded all of the correct software and firmware updates? The interface picture won't appear on beta or cleanflight. I have tried for hours. Any suggestions please..?

I cannot get on to cleanflight with my rodeo 150 I have tried my laptop, tablet and phone. I ended using EZ GUI app and I have lost my low voltage warning. Do you have any suggestions Please? I have downloaded all of the cleanflight drivers and the 150 drivers but it still won't open it says port successfully open and then it says port successfully closed?

+Cuffy Bigglesworth I have a 110 ready for review and so hopefully I can confirm soon. Does it ship with Cleanflight or Betaflight? It might be that the lights are hard wired rather than connected to the FC, in which case you won't be able to programme them.

Hi, I just bought the WR150, turn on drone, then the dev7, start motors and lift off. I fly on beginers mode and the rodeo its all the time moving to one side or to the front. Do I need to calibrate or do something else??? thanks !
Hi thanks for the great clip so far so good. My question my 110 is drifting forward and to the right, I can use the trim on the transmitter to correct this, flying indoors with no wind. What do I need to calibrate in cleanflight to correct for the drift, I would like to keep my transmitter trims centered. Thank You
+RC944jim - here's one thing that you can try - with the quad and transmitter on, disarm and set throttle to full, then hold left roll for about 1 second, then back to center, then the same again 2-3 times. Then throttle back to zero, arm the quad and take off, see if that cures the drift? Its a trick in Cleanflight which adds accelerometer offset.

Hi - I bought the Rodeo 150 (BNF) without xmitter. Can you suggest an inexpensive one other than the Devo that you have?
Since updating firmware so that Cleanflight works, I am unable to bind with my Devo 7 to finish the tips, let alone fly it again. Any ideas? Also the 150 would continue beeping until it ha bound, but now it only beeps 3 times and sits there just flashing.

+KennyLee NYC, I wouldn't recommend it - the Rodeo 150 is very lightweight and the battery time is short already, adding any additional weight would not be wise.
I use one Devo 7 transmitter for 2 Rodeo 150's if I set one up the way you explain in this video is there a way to transfer those setting to the second Rodeo.
+RC944jim absolutely! In the first Rodeo that you setup, go into the flight controller software and select CLI, run the Dump command - this will output all settings, then copy and paste this set of commands into the CLI of the second Rodeo, then type 'Save' and that should be it?

+Lachlan Peknice, absolutely you can - under the 'Modes' tab of CleanFlight, you'll see 'Airmode' listed there - all you need to do is assign that mode to one of the switch ranges. Does that make sense or does this need another video :)

+Lachlan Peknice, it might be that you're not running the most recent version of Cleanflight, this feature has been available in Betaflight for some time but is fairly new to Cleanflight I believe. It might be worth upgrading your F210 to Betaflight as I have.

Hey, which cleanflight version did you use. I read in the walkera forums one was saying that the new version 1.2.4. Corrupts the walkeras, and you should use version 1.2.0. Which doesn't download properly unless I'm missing something. Any advice would be great before I attempt to install.
+ezra behrens they do indeed recommend v1.2.0 although I have used other reversions without issue.

DroningON.co I finally did this setup and it worked exactly the same on my F210. What did you do with the failsafe, for example if you test it and shut the controller off after 5-6 seconds the Props don't stop the only drop to the Speed set with MOTOR STOP set to spin at zero throttle. My concern is if you do indeed end up loosing signal and the failsafe activates the Props will still be spinning and could possible burn the Motors or speed control if it lands somewhere on the Props. It there a way to set the fail safe so when it shuts the Motors off to drop them down to zero RPM with this setting?
Hi I need your help again, I now have a Walkera F215 what is happening near the end of my flight when the warning lights on the back start to flash I have to land immediately or it looses power the motors are still armed and spinning but it won't lift off. Is there something I can change in cleanflight to give me an earlier warning to land like 30 sec. I did search TH-cam but didn't come up with anything. 4S 1300mHA. 60C lipo used.

+RC944jim sounds to me that your battery is nearing end of its flight time, when 5he voltage is too low the quad won't son the motors, that's the time to change to a charged battery.
Yes that much I know but nothing else I fly stops that quick after the warning, I general get 30 seconds. Is there nothing I can change using cleanflight to get an earlier warning? Thanks

DroningON.co I have found the solution. The. txt must be restored using RESTORE option in the Setup tab because it is not a command file to use with CLI. I think It could be corrected in your tutorial. Thanks for your help

Great as always. I know this is a Rodeo vid but I desperately need your help. I just read the posts from you and the Walkera Forum Admin and I am still a fan of yours(and him as well). I have Deviation on my Devo 10 and Cleanflighted my F210 3D and they still aren't playing nice. I notice when pairing the 2, the rear lights are responding to my TX sticks but the F210 3D still constantly beeps and doesn't power up the motors. I did a reinstall of the Original Walkera F210 3D Firmware supplied by "Mr. Walkera Forum Admin" and a complete reinstall of Deviation on my DEVO 10 but still no motor spin! Can you please help as I know I am not the only one experiencing this. I tried your "Fix bricked F210" directions from your website but "Mr. Walkera Forum Admin" said to uninstall Cleanflight since it cannot be read by the F210 3D(although it did). I miss flying and would like to get back into it ASAP. Can I just mail you both my F210 3D and Devo 10 and pay you to fix it so they both work again? ;) Thanks.
+Dave Silva hey thanks for the comment and yes Mr Admin in the Walkera forums is a pretty unfriendly fella, I won't be revisiting and my last comment was my last. In terms of your F210 3D, it's a tricky one as the regular F210 has a fairly standard FC it seems, whilst the 3D version is more complex due to the 3D ESCs, therefore the lock/unlock process is proprietory and there doesn't seem to be a way to get it working. I would flash your 3D back to the factory firmware, unfortunately with that model you don't seem to have any choice :(
It is an excellent tutorial and I tried to follow you step buy step . I plugged the 150 to usb and my laptop found and installed the driver. Next I downloaded the Cleanflight app. It showed com3 and if I drop down the list there is com6 and manual.
But when I click connect nothing happens. A message pops up that the firmware is not compatible.
On walkera site there is some files for download but I’ don’t understand what these are because they seem configured files for cleanflight and the r159 but there is no more info.
there is a video how to connect the 110 using a clean flight and update firmware version they have in the 110 section.
If I remove and download this that clean flight version then it connects however it seems the orientation front back is not correct. But I did not dare do anything else.
I wish to have your set up on it it makes more sense.

hi, since today i got a problem with my rodeo 150.
i connect it today for the first time to cleanflight, looking through all different option cards and possibilitys, and on the bottom are some infos shown, and it says I2C Error : 4 and Packet Error: 9
but i am pretty sure to not change any option and or save it!
at the end my laptop crashes while i hit the disconnect button...
i disconnect the usb cabel, and tried to fly the rodeo, but i am not shure, it did not bind or i am not able to arm or disarm any longer... it beebs but i cant connect... and i got the devo7 from the rtf version. pls help me obi wan.... no fun.. but i need serious help!

I have the same problem. I had a crash in the pid section i never changed anything but now i cant bind . It wont even beep . It only does the first part of the tone . I can see the fc in clean flight i can control the motors but cant bind the fc is not even searching
Please help me lol I got some dumb reason hit reset setting to default and now I my drone just beeps like it's not binding to the transmitter and I can't figure out how to bind it back to the transmitter. I can't arm it or anything!

+Ecoi Villesis, did you actually have an antenna attached to the Rodeo 150 whilst configuring? If so, then don't worry about the heat, it is normal for VTX's to get rather warn when sat idle. It isn't necessarily healthy for the VTX but it is normal.
yes i did! after that i noticed that the plastic cover and the anthenna slightly hot even when im fying the rodeo150 that part slightly hot sorry for my english
Yeah that's fine, the VTX will always get warm/hot when powered up, although the Rodeo 150 does have a habit of getting a bit too hot at times, the ESC's sometimes melt!
how to prevent melting esc?
+Ecoi Villesis there isn't an easy way to prevent this unfortunately, but it's cause is also unknown, mine has been fine for many months.
New problem when hooking up my Rodeo 150 with C/F I get a message Non cleanflight/BetaFlight firmware is not supported except for CLI mode. Using configurator 2.0.0 tried on 2 different windows 10 computers also deleted and reloaded C/F in Chrome. Any ideas? 🤔 the 150 is making connection with C/F unless I'm doing something wrong. Thanks
I should add the Rodeo flies fine and no changes have been made before I tried connecting to C/F.
Well I figured it out, why Cleanflight developers forced an update 2.0.0 I do know it doesn't work for a lot of people. I got some help on. Facebook was told to download 1.2.4 again and load it back into Chrome. All is well for now 👍
The Rodeo F150 does not connect to Cleanflight version 2.0.0 and above. If you do so on connection it will say that clean flight is not compatible to 3rd Party firmware. Download older Cleanflight release such as 1.2.4 from here

Download the cleanflight zip file version you want test and place it in a folder on your pc that you can easily find.
Then the right hand corner of Chrome you see 3 dots stacked vertically.
Click and go to "More tools" > "Extensions"
A new screen is loaded.
The top of the screen there is a Blue Bar with Extensions heading.
At the right top of the screen there is a slider developer tools .
Slide it to the right.
Then 3 buttons appear.
Load Unpacked / Pack Extension / Update.
Click load extension.
A browsing box appear.
direct path to were you saved the zipped Cleanflight configurator
You will see that there is Clean flight added.
Go to Chrome Apps launcher and run the Cleanflight
Download the drivers
Shut down restart pc.
Enter Chrome
Connect the F150 to your pc
Then hit connect and follow Droningon video..... :)

hiya. I have just my 110 through and it isn't connecting up. I have installed said drivers but it won't connect up. I know this is a video recording the 150, because they are similar I am just wondering if you had to do something or download something which hasn't been specified on the vid

hiya, thanks for replying. It has come up with bootlog failed and doesn't do anything when I try to connect the quad up to betaflight and cleanflight. I have no clue now how to proceed. My Devo 7 Transmitter no longer works with my Quad. I only did this because the Quad was stuck on Horizon mode. I have been advised to open up the top of the Quad and press the Bootlog Button but apparently that is risky. I don't intend to do that because so far the advice I have been given has just screwed the Quad up even more. Again I don't know how to proceed. I doubt I would be able to get a replacement or a refund now because I was trying to fix it through the advice I got on here and on Facebook. I am not blaming you as it was my choice to fiddle about with it. I think though in future just say fiddling about with the firmware could cost you your warranty and it isn't guaranteed to fix

noob question here... but what does it mean if none of my switches make a difference when I flick them on or off in cleanflight, only my mix switch makes movements..
if I still choose Aux 2 to use for arm/disarm will it work?
That's exactly what i was hoping/guessing! I am using a DEVO 7 that was came with a RTF runner 250, I just bound it to my 150.. and I may have messed a couple steps up
+kmcquiston88, not a noob question at all, don't worry. which transmitter are you using? Sounds like you simply need to either alter the Output mapping of your TX or alter the channel map within Cleanflight?
+kmcquiston88, I'm not sure whether or not the Devo7 has a channel output mapping, but check the 'Channel Map' on the 'Receiver' tab and try altering the 1/2/3/4 - also, move your Aux switches and see if any of the channels move.
I'm sorry, but when you say alter the 1234 do you mean like try 4321 or 1243? Haha sorry again.. also It has a output option on my Devo 7, has like gear, and aux2 for options
I really want to put my quad in air mode.. but with my switches not moving in cleanflight I can't change the arm/disarm switch and it's risky crashing upside down with motors trying to spin..

+RC944jim if the version of CleanFlight or BetaFlight supports it as a 'mode' then yes, simply define it on the Modes tab.

Well no option for the Rodeo 150 or the F110, but there is on the F215 that comes setup from Walkera with Air Mode on the top right switch.
I did move the Motor Arm to the Gear switch
Can the lvc be adjusted also,seems like it's set to start beeping about 3.6v...I want it to be at 3.4🙂
+Funk Brother's Adventure's I find that the Rodeo 150s LV warning kicks in at about the right level for most batteries - I wouldn't recommend reducing it any further because of the drop in voltage during even the most minor of throttle leaks on this quad.

What about failsafe? My failsafe tab, just keeps looking for data. I turned the transmitter of and the motors keep spinning. How do you set failsafe?
+Steady, Walkera do seem to be known for unpredictable failsafe systems on their quads, unfortunately. I suspect that you'll need to upgrade the firmware to overcome this but I do not know for sure.
I don't have the option of airmode!? how is this possible? the tab is not there at all in clean flight.

How do you add a failsafe? For example if ur drone goes too far and u just want it to drop

I'm new to cleanflight I've tryed 3 laptops and 2 data leads and still can't connect to clean flight one laptop said no available drivers ?
I've tried everything I'm doing something wrong but don't know as new to it

Do a Google search for the STM USB drivers, get them downloaded and installed, then try again and report back!

I uploaded clean flight on my iMac OS10,with Google chrome. The app works, but I can't seem to get the drivers I need? I connect the Rodeo 150 to it with the USB,but nothing happens, and get a message connection failed?
Ron Dog I'm fairly sure that it isn't possible via Mac, you'll need to use a Windows Virtual Machine within your Mac to achieve it.

I got the old PC out, and the clean flight loaded, and worked flawlessly! Do you have any recommended settings for exponential on this quad? It feels "twitchy" to me in the acro mode. Thanks,Ron

+Christopher Patrick be sure to turn on the transmitter first, then immediately plug in the Rodeo 150 and set it down on flat surface...Then after it beeps to confirm setup, you can pick it up and close the battery bay?

I dont know how to connect to that site(if possible) you only can download there and then use that to flash it from cleanflight but it would be easy if i know where the board is running on than you only have to klick on that by cleanflight klick the newest edition and flash it
I can not get clean flight to connect to my laptop it's keeps saying fail serial port. How do I install drivers to use cleanflight. It will work on a friends computer although he has a more up to date system.
+SteveO4478, search for the 'Windows STM Driver's, get those installed and then restart your PC, then try again, that should solve it.

Travis Waner you need to install the cp210x driver. Search stm drivers in google also. I have to check later to tell you exactly. Since then I have it working now. I have to look but try that first.
Hi i have got a few problems with connecting my rodeo 150. Everytime i click connect i get the message that cleanflight and betaflight are no supported. Please help me I'm getting frusted about this evertime i try to solve this problem.
Thanks for the comment +Franz Stadler, are you using the right version of CleanFlight? Remember that the Rodeo 150 has an old firmware and so you might need to use an older CF version to connect to it.

Seven months later my drone just wants to turn to the right side everytime i arm it. So the props always touch the ground if i want to start. I already connected it to cleanflight an the sensors are in 0 if put the drone on the ground but however it turns itself everytime to the right side and i don`t know why... please help me ^^

+When Pigs Fly I'd leave it at the stock firmware, Walkera quads are risky to flash, it's not worth the chance of bricking it

you need to download and install cp2102 usb to uart bridge controller driver mac and use it with cleanflight 1.2.0, it worked for me

Right so you're seeing these odd symbols in the CLI right? I'd suggest that you're trying to use the wrong configurator - in other words, if the FC has CleanFlight installed, you must use the CleanFlight configurator to configure it, make sense?
If one won't connect then it's likely that you have the other, so try CleanFlight and also BetaFlight configurators?
why not use betaflight?
+Harry Bunn, the Rodeo 150 is shipped with Cleanflight as standard (unfortunately). I wanted to keep this guide simple for those just wishing to make minor tweaks that are not used to configuring their quadcopters. Flashing Betaflight would also mean having to reconfigure the quad entirely, I didn't want to get too indepth for this basic high-level guide.

+lookupitsgreg have you checked that your throttle trimmer is at zero? Did you also turn on the transmitter first, then plug in the Rodeo, place it flat level, wait for the beep and only then close the battery bay?
yeah it still doesnt bind...is there a way to rebind the transmitter and the 150?

Its not a drone for aerial photography, its more for racing via FPV, i.e. wearing a headset. In terms of skill-level, I would say beginner to intermediate.
