Was about to throw away a $150 backpack cos of a ripped zipper in the main section and was looking for ways to recycle or save it. Came across your video. What a saver - a perfectly good backpack still, would have gone to landfill. I'm no good with sewing and sewing machines. Where can I find your tutorial on putting on the snaps instead? Love that idea!! ❤
Thanks for the video, so helpful! The zip on my leather bag recently split, I've replaced the metal zipper but im still having the same issue where the zip splits in the same place each time. Im willing to replace the zip and hand stitch it myself but I would rather it not come to that. Would you suggest that I have a look at the teeth and try to straighten them? Thanks in advance
It could be that the zipper teeth have worn out - that's what happened on my backpack. I don't know of a way to fix the teeth once they've worn out, only to replace the whole zipper, unfortunately. But maybe you can find other ideas online! good luck!

Wish I could sew! I could save my mini backpack because the zipper is broken! I can't do all this sewing or even know where to buy a new zipper.
Why can't the actual zipper be repaired..?
The teeth were worn out on this zipper. Unfortunately there's no way to fix worn out teeth (that I know of!) so the whole zipper had to be replaced.
