something that was missing here, for Wendy Players: Abigail will *never* be hit by Antlion, probably because Abigail is floating and Antlion uses ground attacks, and this game goes with Pokemon logic.
So, a mono ground type with an all ground move set trying to damage a ghost type with levitate. What is this, Gen 3?
Not everyone plays Wendy but yes, you're right. That said, I do seem to recall them "fixing" that a while back.

If you start the fight before using Wickerbottom's Practical Rain Rituals and use Practical Rain Rituals during the fight antlion will not retreat and the sandstorm will go away
Stuff like the glass spikes and the glass sandcastles is the kind of whimsy this game needs more of.
I know that this may be a hot take, but antlion is one of the best (if not the best) boss fight in don't starve together.
Her fight don't turns out to be just "learn her kitting pattern" as moose goose or dfly. She has a unique form of duel that you have to pay attention all long the fight, and you can solo she without any hit with you pay attention in the fight.
She has a healing mechanic that isn't just a resource sink as fuelwheaver or crab king, but is a healing mechanic that discourage the players from leaving the fight (as raid bosses do) like, you can take 2k damage from deerclops, leave she there and comeback later with more armor/weapons.
She doesn't have a huge health bar/resource sink, I guess 3k health is too little for a boss, but much over 10k health it's too much/boring.
She remembers me Klaus fight in the good aspects. Maybe don't starve could use a combat revamp, or the devs could do some rework in boss fights to feel like "dark souls bosses", you know you can kill the boss with a good weapon and without armor and healing, and it's just not a count 3 hits runaway and hit (and repeat the process till the boss is dead).
I may have rumbling too much but antlion, ancient guardian and Klaus (maybe deerclops too ) are the best examples of good boss fights that are unique and not so timing/resources consuming. Like wtf is Crab King, Or the 20k+ health from bee queen. It is just an artificial difficult made from "you need more resources to kill this boss" than "you need to be skilled".
Everything you said gets negated the moment you are playing with more than 3 people though which is why Antlion is also one of the worst and easiest bosses in this game.

As a solo player, my way of deling with And lion is indead kitting the spikes in the early phase, but as soon as he starts to to spam spikes in a much faster rhythm, i go marble suit and tank, i feel i kill her much faster this way and like 2 marble suits i usually use
antlion eating collected dust animation is a total "you didn't have to do that" but damn is that cute
If you hold a different type of turf thats allready placed it switches with the turf raiser helm
Know that I played a game in which I adhered to several rules, and it was SO tough! Know that I finally got through after so many tries. Know that one year ending in the Antlion desert. Know that the rules were, you could not kill anything peaceful, could not bash any structures or rocks, you could not defeat anything that would stay dead permanently, or take anything that would not be there anymore. Know that it was so hard to get a combination of spider dens, biomes, and set pieces in order to survive. Know that gold was a 'phase' of the game, that first had to be preceded by getting at least one werepig kill and finding the pig king, know that also I had to be Wes.

I’ve been away from Dont starve as well as DST for a while now, and that crown, it makes me want to play again, no longer will I spend many hours using hundreds of pitchforks for cobble roads and mega builds.
We should be able to cut Koalaphant's trunk off without killing it. Make him grow it back and keep one for harvest.

No. It does go away though, just after a long, long time.
I always disable Antlion bcs those sinkholes mess up my base and its annoying if you are focused on a megabase and just dont care about this boss 😅

Quadruple it.
This may sound silly. But I find deerclops an easier fight than antlion.
1- The clops' attacks are better to choreograph and dodge. While the lion's spikes can get cluttered and make dodging them a mess.
2- Deerclops only attacks once or twice per season. While Lion's rage timer feels less than an appeasement to the boss' temper, and more of a hostage situation with the ransom being a small delay that requires constant monitoring, thus leading to players avoiding the base for the season.
3- Agreeing that the antlions needs a bit of tweaking with the fight. As the sand towers makes kitting messy, and a hassle to fight. If the towers were grouped better to be more like segments the lion uses to block off areas within, or around the sandcastles, that would be more interesting. As players would have to run to sections not full of spikey sand spikes instead of running in between individual spikes.
Well, the Deerpclops has the strongest insanity aura of the game, so i guess i could be said that he's more powerful than the Ant Lion because he's more dangerous in direct combat, while Ant Lion is more of a nuisance really
@@pedrogrotto9177 True. Though deerclops can be led through a forest for tree felling and left with other enemies while the player can recover their sanity.
While antlion, as you said, is a nuisance if players dont want to, or cannot, fight them.
this boss was always a big hard pass for me i just dont want to bother with her
