Really interesting insight mate. As always, respect for your honesty. I'm personally not arsed about charts etc. and recognise the likelihood of making a career out of production is practically zero. I just want to have one track of mine played out. That'll do for me!
Really nice video Adam. Never been attracted by Beatport stuff actually. This video is a demonstration of why! 'Be the best version of you', wise words man, that's what really matter, in every aspect of our lives.
Good insight mate and appreciate your honesty with where you went wrong I had a beatport number 4 and not a single dj played it out, so yeah I understand it means nothing!
You're absolutely right about everything, I've been on number 1 on BP and Audiojelly for almost a week, jumping in joy all around the place, and then my global net revenue from the release was 100€ ffs 😂And yes, trouse was a freaking disgrace for the scene, unbearable!
Charts dont bother me, i would rather see my tracks been played in clubs and events. But i do post about it on my socials just for a easy way to promote the track, instead of bombarding socials with same picture, link and description etc. Now a days genres are starting to clash in charts so you dont really get a true reflection anyway haha
Do people even buy tracks anymore? Its all streaming nowadays - BP is pretty much irrelevant these days...it was a thing maybe 10 years ago for a producer. Having said that, you can understand how a young producer can get excited about being the hype chart or the main top 100 chart - its a nice thing to put on your Bio for an up and coming producer. Im sure the established producers couldnt care less anymore...the fact that you can sell a few copies and get in the charts doesnt mean anything. You see the Tinlicker version of Children still in there and that was released a few years ago - meaning it might be selling a few copies a week.
Yeah def. People obsesss over it like i did. What you say is definitely true as well, mate, it’s all cool get number one (hype chart doesn’t count), but in terms of career it really doesn’t do much. As I say, DJ plays what really matters.
Thanks for sharing Adam
Really enjoy these opinion pieces, looking forward to the next one mate
great video adam some great points

Def good to know and take into consideration !
Really interesting vid. Insight that only someone who's lived this stuff can give you. Thanks Adam!
really good video, top message. "I want people to hear the music" ... key take away there.
Love your honesty Adam, it is certainly more about network than numbers. You just don't know what just being you and progressing can lead to.
Always good to know, it all depends on what you want from your productions

Your opinions are very helpful. I couldn't care less about followers or rankings. I'm not looking for fame. I only want to please myself.

interesting to hear your experiences and learn from them
Great video Adam big love fella ❤
I don’t think there is anything wrong with asking friends and family to support your hard work. Nothing wrong with being proud of having a talent.
All about social media presence now and streams

Maybe you can make a tier list of trance labels. 😊
Any label that has a big name DJ associated with it is a good start!
