Greenfield village is a loop - front coupler not needed for operations. Strasburg is a line - the engine needs to run around the train, and thus have the ability to pull or push with the front.
Thomas had 4 cars but there was a fifth one not coupled on the track to the right. they only need three cars for days of regular operations so they had to do some twisty stuff that I didn't record cuz it was too far away. It's kind of hard to explain 😂
