For anyone who is watching this video now here an update on bangour. They are knocking it down to build houses. I was so sad when I found out. My mum worked there and I’ve always felt connected with it. My mum and dad got married there also. But yes, some building remain but most have been knocked down. It saddens me that we are erasing history just to build houses
I've been taking my dog to Bangour for the last few years, starting when I was eleven or so. My gran and her twin sister grew up near it and remember visiting friends there when it was a TB hospital. We often meet a couple who worked there for decades with their dog and they tell us what it was like when it was operational. I always feel watched there, like we living folk aren't the only ones there. It's a beautiful place, but the state it's in makes it extremely unsettling.
Gnome waw that’s mental like . Well I have been in both hospitals and the main one up the back out torched flickered off and on and stones were thrown right after it. Wasn’t enough to see in that one for a video but yeah I know what you mean.
I spent a year in bangour village in adolescent unit when I was 15,1986-87.Many memories.Funny seeing it again now im 48 lol doesnt seem to have changed much.
@@abandonedscotland6558 Yeah I`d love to see it again but I`ve heard there was security vans patrolling the area.I bet that place is spooky at night,we had our own school there which was a tiny cottage at the top of village and I visited the shop and went to the wood work workshop there every day.A lot of weird people there at the time ,some were locked up in secure wards others were aloud to walk about outside, mental patients,i was in adolescent unit for truanting from school as I came depressed a lot of the other teenagers in for behaviour problems, anorexia etc, imagine putting us in a ward next to a bunch of nutters eh?Lol.
Paul c yeah there is but I know ma own way into the admin hospital and ma window has been open for years and i enter the village without ever being seen so it’s easy to get in and out . If you do ever go gives a shout I can guide you into it as it should still be open and I help people in regular
My grandmother and aunty died in this place in the early to mid 60s. Abandoned by their family and friends. Grace Hodges died at 40 and her mother died at 80 Margaret Lyle Hodges from Newhaven. I feel very sad I was only a young child at the time, I'd have taken them home with me!!
Some of the building are now demolished and the work has begun on building new village there i live near there my brothers were born there and my ex mother-in-law worked there until it closed
Grew up in the area when it was still the village hospital, amazed you got in ! See they are stripping out the asbestos now and building houses there 😕
RuinPornScotland no for me , I can get in and out with in seconds. Been helping others get in over Instagram as no long until they will most likely nock it down but some place like very enjoyable
Personally I’ve never been in it, I have visited and it’s easy to get into but there is a chance of being caught due to cctv and the creepy asf groundkeeper
danielle alston there isn’t cctv at the admin hosptial there but there is dotted around and active at night but yeah all the security are creepy like ! Thanks for the view !
