I had the pleasure of hearing her play, a tiny lady with apparently small hands, but what she could do belied her size... I read an article in Gramophone discussing many versions of this piece, and the writer concluded this was his favorite, and I have to agree: it captures everything one could dream of in the piece, here in two very different recordings: the first one raw and powerful, the second more refined, as Proclus below says... sheer mastery...
It is interesting that Busoni recorded this with open octaves in the end rather than either minor or major ending. There is something to be said about that. My preference is her 1973 recording.

She is great pianist. I heard her interpretations of the works of Spanish composers - she is really Master. This performance is also perfect as usual.

The later recording may be more refined, but the intensity of the earlier one set a standard that no other pianist has matched.
