I did this mission almost completely with Orcas and Ion Cannon. Use Orcas to recon, Ion cannon and Orcas on the CYs, take out the SAM sites, then the power plants. NOD puts a wall around the CY so when you blow it up, there's dudes standing there and they block it being re-built. Unintended Consequences.
I'm having a small blackout right now in my brain but I think that you can build Chinooks only in multiplayer mod (someone correct me if i'm wrong) , otherwise yeah backdoor Heli-Engineer attacks could make this mission ten times easier especially by taking the power down in order to shut down those Obelisks at the narrow chokepoint on the top right ;P
@@CommandAndConquerGameplays You are right. However, Chinooks can also be enabled with wonky techlevel settings in Singleplayer. That usually means more weird stuff like building Hospitals and training civilians. :D Chinooks are not enabled this mission, so yeah.
Quite late, but I love using GDI airforce. If you separate one Orca into its own control group and fly it ahead of the rest, you can take out SAM sites (even groups of SAM sites) with little to no loss. Just have the leading Orca retreat a moment after the SAM site opens up (hotkey S makes for fast retreat), and the missile fired will chase after that Orca and miss (because it explodes behind the Orca as it is flying away). The second time the SAM site opens up, it will be searching for that Orca. If the Orca is still in range, rinse and repeat (you can make the SAM miss infinitely by moving towards and retreating from the SAM). If not, the SAM closes up (without shooting) and chooses a new target. That is plenty of time for 3 Orcas (with full ammo) to destroy the SAM site. More if you want to destroy it in less time. Micro the leading Orca enough, you can bait multiple SAM sites, and soon Nod is defenseless. 3 Orcas for a Turret, 4 Orcas for an Obelisk, and it is time for the tanks to come rolling in. The AI can defeat this by rebuilding SAMs, and using Stealth Tanks as AA (Stealth messes with Orca targeting, so a player often has to fire the ground to hurt them).
Indeed it was a bit exhausting dealing with that one chokepoint with 5 Obelisks ;P And yep the GDI Missile Launchers can't outrange the Nod Obelisks , honestly they kinda suck compared to the longer ranged Nod SSM Launchers which are so much better.. ;x
@gotapresentforya1907 Indeed it was! ;D Dealing with that narrow 5 Obelisk chokepoint combined with a lot of stuck Nod units sure wasn't an easy thing to do but luckily at the end I managed to break through ;P But hey it was actually really fun to see these Obelisks vaporize half of my Mammoths with a nice laser show , big thumbs up for this mission!
5:31 Love it how you paused and thought about it for 2 seconds
xD

Zapp: Kif , casualty report!
Kif: *Unacceptable*
Zapp: Ahh perfect , another successful mission carried out!

Nice strategy! ;D
They don't let you build transport helis? would have been perfect for a backdoor engineer attack on those power plants.

That was exhausting
Were the GDI Missile launchers vehicles out of range for NOD defences?

Man I dont see how you play without the unofficial patch.
7:52 Wtf.
@gotapresentforya1907 Been asking myself that very same question at that very same moment when it happened xD
I like how the AI can build its own conyards... wish I had that hack enabled >.>
lol xD
jesus how many goddamn harvesters do they have
Well.. with almost ifinite money the AI can just easily pump out endless harvs to replace those which were lost.. xD
let the attack area commence
Affirmative! 👌
Gosh.. it's not fair to see Nod's AI can build SSM Launcher while we as Nod can't
Man, that was a slug fest, wanton carnage haha

This is like C&C on adderall.
😂
the dude nuke the AVG 💀
Yep , the silly AI in this game *always* nuke the AGT's as a first priority ;P
I dont appreciate the NOD genocide
Kane didn't appreciate it either! ;o
