Introduction:
Dhargyeling Tibetan Settlement Tezu was established in the year 1962. It was earlier situated in the Lohit District of (NEFA) and now falls in Arunachal Pradesh State which is fairly close to the Indo-Burmese (Myanmar) border. It is about 6 Km from the town of Tezu and its altitude of 450 feet above the sea level. The temperature during the summer months averages about 108 degrees Fahrenheit and coldest 3-degree centigrade during wintertime. The most difficult part is in summer because of high humidity and sometimes it is difficult to breathe as well. The average rainfall in a year is approximately 133 inches. There is a river called Tindolong (Lama River) which runs annually from camp 5 to 1 and meets the Brahmaputra river (YarlungTsangpo), which is of two miles flowing distance from the settlement. The local inhabitants of the area are mainly Mizos, Mishmi and Digaru Mishmi. But today one will find a very diverse community in the area due to migration of all kinds of people in the region
All of the Arunachal Pradesh state is classified under a protected area, wherein foreigners and other inland people are not permitted to enter the Arunachal Pradesh, as the area falls under the North-Eastern borders of India.

Settlement Setup
This settlement consists of 5 villages or camps with average of 45 families in each camp.Tibetans residing in Tuting areas are located in 17 different villages. Out of which 4 villages are located in Tuting itself while 13 are located in scattered places in and around Tuting village.

This Tibetan settlement was established in 1962 as our parents or the elders came to India after losing our country Tibet to Chinese communists party(CCP) more than 80,000 tibetans came to India with our Holiness the Dalai Lama.The prime minister of India pandit jawaharlal Nehru and the people of India accepts us with open heart and we the tibetans will remain grateful to this great nation and its people.The tibetans started cutting the thick forests and turn it into settlements as many Tibetans died due to hot climate and hard labour works during the initial transition period.I am writing you this because I was born and raised in lama camp.Presently living in Canada with my wife and kids.So,I want to say thank you to take us a tour of the Tibetan settlement popular known as Lama camp.
