Haven’t been to Charlbury for years!. Your excellent video means I shall put that on my ‘places to revisit’ list. Thanks for sharing, Paul.🙂👍

Thank you Ron! I hadn't been to Charlbury before - I was very impressed with this immaculate and very friendly Cotswold town, which is not at all touristy. Great service on the Cotswold Line nowadays. Thanks again, Paul.

What a lovely place Charlbury is & what a beautiful church, loved the countryside walk.

Charlbury is a real gem! Considering it is right on the Cotswold main railway line to London, it is remarkably unspoiled, and doesn't seem to get that many tourists either - which is both a blessing for me filming and, I am sure, for the residents too. I found this a very friendly Oxfordshire place. Thanks again, Paul.

Paul, another fantastic vlog that depicts all that's great about a Cotswold walk in the summer. This has inspired me to get out of the bungalow in the showers today :-)
Yes, I agree, a Bicester Railway walk would be great to see. Keep up the excellent work.
    Thanks' - Des

Thank you Des. Yes, I hope to catch a train to Bicester very soon, weather and train strikes willing. Most of the military railway that is visible from roads and public footpaths is walkable from Bicester Village station. Thanks again, take care, Paul 👍🙂

Hello Paul - greetings from Poland
That was one of the best walks we've ever done. I really enjoyed it. Such diverse countryside.
A beautiful walk through the town out to the meadows beyond. What goregeous views on our way to Fawler which I thought was beautiful. Very interesting historical facts about the Roman Villa.
Lovely railway underpass and bridge over the river. The wild flower meadows were beautiful as where the acres of growing corn, blowing in the wind.
What an impressive entrance to Cornbury Estate. Then the walk back into Chalbury and up to the church. I was amazed how different the outside was to the inside. Very tastefully down in my opinion.
The second town walk, without commentary just video and still photographs, was most lovely.
A brilliant video. Wonderful commentary. A great success - Bravo!

Thank you Michael! You're too kind. I hadn't been to Charlbury before - and was very surprised to see it is as unspoilt as it is, seeing just how close it is to London Paddington (75 mins) on the train. The reason the station didn't close was that the BR Chairman, Sir Peter Parker, lived nearby and used the station. Take care, Paul.

Hi Paul! Beautiful walk. I enjoyed seeing the area especially that little town and hearing your commentary about the history. The church was really lovely to see too! 😀

Thank you Donna! Glad you enjoyed the video 🙂 I was debating whether to include commentary on the video town tour too - but, in the end, I didn't. Maybe it needed a little music to lift it a bit. Thanks so much for watching and commenting - really appreciate it, take care, Paul 👍

Such an amazing amount of open countryside and a sunny day for a walk. Thanks for the interesting video Paul. P.S. Unusual Staircase up to the bell tower in the church.

Thank you David. Very kind of you. Yes, following others feedback too, I will be heading to Bicester as soon as I am able to, to cover the military railway, and see what I can see of it, staying within the law! (I'm not an urbex explorer). Thanks again, Cheers, Paul 👍🙂

That was another long walk Paul. You put so much effort into these videos. A few years ago we drove to Charlbury, parked near the Co-Op and walked down Park Street and then Grammar School Hill to the Charlbury Estate (so the way you came back up at the end of your walk). It must have been May as there were fields of oil seed rape which I photographed. We enjoyed walking around the estate and some of your video in the grounds looks familiar. I remember an avenue of trees and the lake and various buildings. Thanks also for showing us inside St Mary's Church. Video with no talking was good at the end.😊🚶🚶‍♂🐕🐕🌳🌳

Thank you Cathy! I really love making the Cotswold Walks series, not least because they don't involve much travelling, and they require very little preparation. I just react to things as you see them in the video. I was very impressed with Charlbury - I hadn't been there before. Lovely town! Thanks for a nice comment. Take care, Paul.

Good morning Roy - thank you! Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed this circular walk - so much variety in it, and I love walks where I don't have to drive to there from home. I will probably be back in this part of the Cotswolds again soon. Cheers, Paul

A great video of a good walk, Paul.
As you requested, I think I like a bit of commentary with the video tour; however, the still photographs of the town work very well with just the music you’ve chosen.
I see several vloggers who add commentary afterwards in the editing, if it isn’t appropriate to do live. Of course never having made one myself, I don’t know how hard it is to do. 🙂

Thank you Ian and thanks for the feedback too. I was just trying the format out (town video tour -I rarely do them because I don't handle towns well, but this one is lovely and quiet). I've noticed videos with tours of towns without any commentary or music do extremely well on TH-cam and was wondering if that was what my audience wanted. Thanks again - yes, I could have added commentary both then or later. Cheers, Paul 🙂 👍

Thank you John! Yes, I am less familiar with the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, save for Burford and Witney. I was mightily impressed - it is great walking country. I am sure I'll be back this way again. Thanks again, Paul 🙂👍

Hi Paul, The Cornbury Music Festival was originally held at Cornbury Park but moved to Great Tew some years ago. I believe next month's festival will be the last ever.

    • @westcountrywanderings
      @westcountrywanderings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Ah, thank you David. Yes, I had a feeling it had been moved away from Cornbury in the past. Shame it will be the last one there, because it looks like it is a stunning place to have a music festival. Thanks for watching and commenting, cheers, Paul.

@@westcountrywanderings Keep up the good work. I particularly enjoy the Thames and Severn canal videos as my youngest daughter and her family live in a canal side cottage at Daneway.
