    Thanks Brett! I started with the first 1, just got the Deluxe Friday, F'n love it, my favorite drive pedal, and I'm a hard rock metal guy, my rig consists of a jp2c+ and a mkv, they already sound amazing, add a little fairy dust (Tumnus) just does something, love your channel man!

    Great demo, and the pedal sounds fantastic. Brett, would you say that this pedal is noisy on higher gain settings? It does sound a bit noisy, but maybe it’s just the pups.

    • @BrettPapa
      @BrettPapa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nah, nothing out of the ordinary. If you roll your guitars volume down when you are not playing it barely noticeable at all. Great pedal!

  • @J0hny87
    @J0hny87 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Brett, I always wanted to ask you from which song is the chord progression that you use for most of your gear demos? It goes something like G Cadd9 D F#/D G - it sounds really familiar but cannot figure out where I heard it before.

    • @BrettPapa
      @BrettPapa  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You know, I just like the sound of those chords together. I'm always just improvising in demo's 9 times out of 10. I'm sure it has been used a 1000 times in songs before. Typical country or southern rock progression.

    Would you recommend boosting another OD pedal such as the OCD with this one for a solo boost, Or the other way around? With the versatility and options on this pedal, it seems like it may be more worth it as a boost to maximize the use/options of the tumnus. Thoughts?

    • @BrettPapa
      @BrettPapa  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that could be good. With all things it depends on the rig.

      @northof50now 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Roy, the Nash guitar is awesome, as are the Lollar pickups. But, a lot of the tone is coming from the pedal and the Divided by 13 amp. The latter being a world-class amp. You'll not hear much difference if Brett played a Mexican or American Standard Fender...Although he would feel the difference. The best thing about the higher end guitars is more their feel and "payability" more than their tone.

  • @kbrinson85
    @kbrinson85 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    sounds great...what other boost/ODs you currently running?

    • @BrettPapa
      @BrettPapa  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Right now it's the Tumnus Deluxe, RC Booster and a Divided by 13 Lift pedal. I'll change it up here and there but that is pretty much standard. I love the overdrive sound on my amps so boosts do the trick for me. I'll throw in a Friedman BE or a Wampler distortion when I need to kick it up a notch to do some 80's stuff.

    Hi Brett , Where do you put your boosts in the chain ? , and how do you decide which one to put first. ?
    Like you , I love my amps distortion and my micro amp + boost works a treat. I like the idea of having another one though and loosing one of my unused distortion pedals off the board.
    Thanks mate.
    I use a wah pedal , boost before or after the wah ?

    • @BrettPapa
      @BrettPapa  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My chain goes boosts first. I didn't think about the order I just put them down and it seems to work great. When I use a wah it is usually first unless I'm running some type of fuzz that needs to go first.

      You can get tones like that. I would say Zep has a huge array of different tones though so I guess it depends on what you are talking about. It would help greatly to be running it into the front of a Marshalls type amp as well.

    • @gessi1332
      @gessi1332 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      papastache102 yes. I'll placing it in front of my marshall amp. I currently have the friedman be od now and im thinking of selling it and replace it with the wampler plexi drive or the deluxe.
      Is the deluxe better than the standard? There's a big debate about that.

    Wampler is really skimping on the new bag that the Tumnus Deluxe comes in. It's honestly pretty shitty from the nice valore esc bag that came with the original Tumnus. The new bag is EXTREMELY cheap in comparison.

    • @BrettPapa
      @BrettPapa  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmmm, how is the pedal? That is what you are buying. I get it though presentation is a nice touch.

    • @universalmanchild
      @universalmanchild 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's rather nice. More tweakability, obviously. I keep both of them. Certain dirt pedals, generally older, less modern ones sound better in front. So I keep the deluxe in the beginning of the chain and the regular tumnus at the end of the dirt chain. That way I have the option to play these dirt pedals in back of tumnus deluxe , or in front of standard tumnus. You dig? But they really gotta do something about that bag.

    • @PANICBLADE
      @PANICBLADE 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like they went with canvas material over velour. Upgrade actually, much more durable and practical for the point of purpose. The pedals are going to be put on boards over 90% of the time anyway and not kept in the bag, so I wouldn't mind if they removed the bags altogether. It's a road ready guitar pedal, not a bottle of Crown. For the people that do keep it in the bag from gig to gig, they'll probably be happier it is safer in that, though not much.
