I was really lucky to explore these mangroves as a child 25-30 years ago. It was a magical place back then as there was still very little human impact. It was usually just a group on 3-4 families each weekend. Over the years development has slowly encroached and damaged it just like you show. I hope they put measure inplace to protect it properly in the future.

Good job. It is a place, that need nature restoration the most. It could impact mentality of people living there and create some change.

Looks like Carbon Markets are insufficient to meet our current climate pledges. I think change needs to come from the state level - an insightful video nonetheless!

If only they realised tech is not the solution to improving the UAE, primarily it would be better putting money into maintaining and restoring habitat, hiring biologists, hydrologists and ecologists to direct the investments into the lowest hanging fruit combined with strong environmental laws. But being a place of crony capitallism and the need to bend any rule for money, Sadly this place will be buried in the sand in the years to come when the oil revenue dries up.

It’s a sad reality, these habitats should be protected…

Looks like the mangroves are rooting for some carbon credits, but if we don't act they might just be leafing us for good !
