Funny Channel this is. After i started to look your videos i have practised schubert ave maria, gavotte (under two weeks i play it with piano accompaniment in my cello school, can't wait :D) pieces of bach from there and here, im almost finished with air in a g string and today i was practising gavotte and thought what i want to learn next. Well, this one. I admire the simplicity of your playing, it's not forced at all :) Funny stuff happened with gavotte, i live in a Block of flats and it was evening, like 21.00 clock so i started play More elegantly and silently. It actually sounded More beatiful than my normal bow usually does. It made me think the needness of dynamic in music. Coinsidence made me play better!
I've said this before. My son has two cello teachers. His in person teacher who is amazing. And you! He plays with you during practice and goes into class more confident. Thanks so much.
Great indeed! As cello lover and as a parent from a ten years old boy who plays cello. Your videos help me to understand what my son is developing at music school, once in this pandemic times I can't attend to his auditions. Thank you.
Wonderful! We all have to go through it. It is so amazing to get in touch via these videos with so many parents and students all over the world. All the best to your family!
Beautiful ! I love vibrato and beautiful Cello tone ! I played violin as a kid and recently playing (less than 6 months) an old gifted Cello to me. I can hardly believe the awesomeness of this instrument. Thank you for making this video. I am playing along with you ! I am getting compliments on my Cello playing ! Who knew that I too can play the Cello with the heavy vibrato and beautiful tone ?
I love looking at your left hand fingers dance :) It's incredible! When I slowed the frames I noticed on 3:34 that you use 2nd finger as a support for moving 3rd and 4th - am I right?
You are welcome! You will play any piece really well after you learn something more difficult and come back to it relaxed and only concerned about music. Keep practicing, be patient and very likely you’ll be able to play better than I do!
4:25. Measure 75, how is your fingering for the first slur? You smooch your second finger on both strings? Your video is so helpful, I am only missing this one as your picture comes right in the middle at this specific time 😅
Yes, I roll the 2nd finger from G to D string. It helps to connect both notes. The alternative would be to lift the second finger, but two legato notes would not be connected.
@@Cellopedia I am working on Beethoven’s 2nd sonata. I had my recital yesterday without an accompaniment because of corona, it was awkward with all of the rests where the piano plays but I did really good. I want to work on the Bach Suite 6 prelude for my next piece.
Let me know if you have any more dark cave concerts. PS- are you sitting on a chair?
PS-any bat trouble?
Any more PSs? I am glad you enjoyed it 😂
This was the bane of my existence in 7th grade orchestra

I use black fabric stretched in background, special lighting and adjust contrast with video software
