Where is Peugeot 206???
They kicked Renault & Peugeot out of the Unites States in 1986 because of their Transmissions and Engines kept breaking down around 45k miles. They still don't sell them here.
haha more like the americans didnt like competition because american cars in the 80s were utter shit had 3 peugeots hit over 160000 miles with zero faults to engines of gearboxes and they have been thrashed .
Jarrus Jenkins 😂 brilliant
@@sjm.photos Peugeot & Renault made a shitty car that brokedown between 35k to 45k miles. If we didn't like competition than why do Toyota, Honda, BMW, Audi, Jaguar, Mercedes, Mazda, Subaru, and VW sell so many cars here?
@@jarrusjenkins Your country has different safety and durability standards than the United States. The average American now puts 25k miles a year on a car. Peugeot & Renault couldn't handle 15k per-year in the 1980s. If you like those cars, good for you.
And it's difficult to use a manual when it breaks down at 25k to 35k miles.
theylied1776 😂🤣😂🤣 this is the reason why “ Due to the regulation, some French cars had different headlights and bumpers in America. ... In 1974, the carmakers withdrew from North America due to design regulations that outlawed core features also the french cars were smaller and lighter than the american cars so the larger americans couldnt fit inside easily
If they didn't use the cheapest plastics on earth, then they would be great cars
Tony Eff Nowadays, their interior trims are up there with your average Audi in terms of quality!
@@dgbservices6049 more like Audi quality nowadays is as low as Peugeot. Brand new they seem fine. But interior and exterior plastics do not stand the test of time. I've had 4 pugs in the past all had nasty plastics
Vikki time for some 4x4 action
But PSA thinks Toyota is even better. You know: Can we get the Toyota Aygo and we put some trim pieces on it and call it an 107.
Its a joint design and production bro. Try looking for Aygo parts in non-Peugeot markets and you'll discover there are no parts. Going by your theory, Toyota think Peugeot Expert as better coz they dress them up as Toyota Proace in Europe.
Top Gear (Jeremey Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May) did this already.
All JC ever does is this "this [Parent company Ford] is the best car ever and this [PSA] car is rubbish. Doesn't matter if his own GT40 doesn't go of that the New PSA range makes everything look 10 years out of date, he's a broken record and the only hit on it is called 'Steak Punch'
I'd rather see there most famous engines
How they went from making good house appliances, stylish carriages, stylish pre generation cars, weapons, affordable daily drivers, affordable fun cars, thuroughbred racers, mad concept cars to something hideous and useless in the mid 2000s ?!

@roko woju Well considering how much hype the Hyundai i30 N gets, just take a look at this: th-cam.com/video/wMUlPRvkdys/w-d-xo.html
The 308 GTi is probably the most underrated modern hot hatch out there and it was launched a couple of years before the i30 N ... 😊

Nothing wrong with the 307. They were robust cars
Got an 307SW for nearly 14 years now. Never had any big issues, only wear parts (brakes, clutch, etc.) and all ectronics work fine.
I have a 307sw 2l petrol from 2007...iv changed the engine(it needed new rings at just about 190k kilometers), changed the 4 speed auto gearbox thrice, wheel bearings once, front suspension and ball joints twice, had to change the muffler cause one time it just lost all power cause apparently the muffler hair caused a blockage, the cooling system is a joke, the electric windows work whenever they feel like, it feels sooo underpowered even though its 136hp.....but maybe its just a one off i donno
@@eliudmaina7872what oil are you using? Are your fans auto or are they direct? Are you using coolant or water? Which gearbox oil are you using?
@@vs6300 I use shell helix ultra 5w-40 oil, the fan is auto(however it doesnt have low speed just high speed that comes on at 100 degrees tried to disassemble the fan to find out why low speed doesnt come on, found out there's a short circuit that goes all the way to the ecu which needs to be replaced to work), i use water(but i checked all pipes for signs of rust and there's none so water over coolant is not the problem), im told the gearbox is a sealed for life unit, doesnt have a dipstick or a release valve sooo yeah( still a rubbish gearbox though, wish it was a manual)

@@Dan-wz9tr I've owned the 205 Gti 1.9, 309Gti 1.9 and the 106gti [not xsi] the 106 is quicker accelerating and has the higher top speed. I live down a 15km winding road which I used to travel late at night with no other road users. All three got pushed to the limits on this road, a road that covers all types of corners and the 309 felt the most planted but was slowest on the timer. All three were no good in the wet. So you can keep your odds and I'll just hang onto 2nd gear between corners then head out of them faster . Yes it's [309] got the best footprint, but point to point and in a straight line the 106 is simply a quicker cat. I sold the 205 to keep the 106 because I enjoyed how everyone underestimates them. I now have the spiritual successor, by my weird logic to the 309gti in the 206 gti wagon, it too has a wider rear beam/footprint and feels much more secure on the same road than the hatch in much the same way. I think we both just love our cars, the 106 is twitchier to begin with and lacks low end shove but once you spend enough time with it you find the limit, push it further, find another limit etc.. the difference on any straight is very telling. We're obviously passionate about our pug's and maybe your experience is different but of the three, I'd only ever re-buy the 106. :)

So many reliability issues, and the parts are ridiculously expensive, no thanks.
Any French car out of warranty, is a liability.
Meantime, my '96 106 (already transitioned from carb to fuel injection) is going strong. The only maintenance repair I've had to do in over a year of ownership was the oil sensor. I've bought it from a mechanic who've done a full maintenance service, everything from the head gasket, clutch and wheel axles got replaced. It doesn't even have oil leaks nor it burns oil beyond the factory spec (a quarter per 1000 kms).

@@sjm.photos Well, always going to get some exceptions.
BMW's have a bad reputation for reliability but I just sold an E91 touring with 142k on which I had for almost 5 years, and it was brilliant.
When I see French cars over 3 years old, I'd estimate at least 50% have at least one light out. They are just junk electrically.
Nik Gnashers id agree if it was Renault but ive owned a 406 coupe v6 a 206 dturbo, a 306 dturbo and 306 gti6 and an rcz gt200 still now.
