- I find GOLD on Coronado Beach and Silver too! 5 Rings, a few earring and coins using my metal detector. I also select the winner of last week's "Would you dig it?" contest and I have another "Would you dig it?" giveaway for a $25 Amazon gift card.

When I was a fleet sailor on a medium sized destroyer, we dumped the trash off the fantail... i.rember the chief Gunners Mate dumping boxes of pineapple grenades off the same place on our ship..I wonder,50 years ago if they are still doing that..

I used to metal detect at Ocean City Md. before moving to central Florida.
Loads of fun. Found tons of coins and costume jewelry. Nothing expensive .

No I have never met DigginSoCal, the one time I did see them walk onto the beach when they saw me and my friends they turned around to walked back off the beach.

Setting should be based the type of soil or sand you are detecting on, I always start at factory settings and make adjustments as needed.

It,s nice when everything goldie turns out to be gold. Even the worlds smallest ring. I am going to say you guys find way more rings there than we do in Fla. We have easily as many or more people. So I can only attribute that to water temp.Yours toppping out at 68 to 70. And ares 78plus for most of the year. More shrinkage!! What do you think about that theory?😊
Our beaches are busy year round for most part, the waves are much bigger and have a stronger undertow causing tourist to get slammed by our larger waves. water temp does make a difference too. Your theory is as good as any!

Just keep digging, Lol! You will get used the hearing the subtle tone differences and do not dig shallow iron. Hopefully it is a popular swim area for many years, swim holes on lakes can be produce a ton of fun finds.
That is definitely an infant ring. It is a thing that I had no idea about either. My mom still has my dads that was handed to her from from grandmother. I found two last year. 10k and 18k. So ridiculous that people thing an infant wont lose a ring, or worse.....eat it. Tent stake.
