Portland, Maine seems to have a more lively and densely packed downtown with a lot of buildings despite having a lesser population compared to Manchester, NH.

I grew up in Portland, Maine and my husband and I raised 4 children in Portland. I can't imagine living any where else. We lived in North Deering off Ray Street.
Was here in July (entirely by myself) visiting from Scotland. Picked up rental from PWM and so this was the first American city I drove in. Really great place, seemed friendly enough. After a long trip around all the other states in New England, bought chicken nuggets, walked around, and eventually slept in my car in front of some Cannabis shop on Congress St. Safe city!
I Lived Here In My Teen Years!!! My Mother, Me & My Twin Sister Eva Worked for the City!!! This is my HOME!!! Now I Will Return here as a Vehicle Inspector for the State of Maine!!! I CANNOT wait to return HOME!!!
