Just to mention something funny. I’m 64 years old and was in my mid 30’s when this came out but at 64 I still appreciate good music. Remember that as we age we do get wiser but young at heart and mind. If we liked it at 20. 30, or 40 we’ll like it at 80.
You are correct. At just a year older than you, I'm sure you have noticed the rap....I mean crap the kids listen to these days is atrocious. These guys are not even musicians, usually at the same tempo, to a pre-recorded base line and they are making money. When music was taken out of schools is when musicians became a dying breed. Some musicians met in classical music training class and its been proven that young minds that learn how to play musical instruments are smarter than those who do not. This is why kids, Gen Z are not as brilliant as their predecessors. Other factors are to be considered, but for sure this is one of them.
@@MichaelAnthonyHuerta-mf8oh Couldn’t agree more. I remember when this started. I was working in Vegas and in the late 80’s all the shows that always had a live band start using tape pre-recorded. It’s almost like they want dummies.
Everyone thinks 2020 was horrible, listening to this made me realize that musically, the past 20 years give or take has been a romp in the toilet. I'm 60 years old, I smoke weed everyday and I just tested positive for covid-19. Be good to one another. Peace
This is ORIGINAL music and that's all that's all that matters. These guys set themselves apart. Lowery has one of those distinctive voices that makes all his music timeless !!
so many classic lines in this tune---too many to mention them all. Can't explain why this song makes me smile---even though its called "low" "hey---hey---hey"...... thanks for sharing this video !!!
This song is an excellent example of a beguilingly simple song very artfully performed. It's extremely catchy the way only the very best four-chord songs can be. A real achievement.
I know why l missed it when it was released. I was in the Army serving overseas. Now l have found it, l play it loud to drive the anger and the anguish out.
@fossilbox1991 No so - can't you hear the sorrow and desperation as well as the feeling of being high? This is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard and it couldn't have been created without the heroin, as tragic as that is. Lucky for me I've never been called by the poppy but I imagine the feeling I get when listening to this song, a feeling of being lulled and sinking into warm honey, seeing the sun blue and the sky brown, has some likeness.
You aren't too far off, but the context isn't "word"able... If you are 51 in the handle because of birth year, we have a Hell of a crossover. @fossilbox1991 Oh NOW I get it :-) Your original comment was a rebuttal to custyfinkscar! Yours was an excellent rebut, congrats! Too bad I didn't get it the first time. Whatever, I adore this song, it's in my top 5 of all time, I can play it over and over and never get tired of it, especially the opening: one drum slam then the slow, chiming, rolling guitars.
Great song! I only like songs for the sound they make and this one has IT! Not many do and I don't really care about a songs message, I just go for the overall sound and this has it all.
Forced, strained vocals and a guitar that's out of tune, beyond what would be within the limits of cool. BUT, a really awesome song, love it. Always listed among top songs of 90's rock. Will always love it.
@fossilbox1991 Jeez, do ya have to call me dumbass just cuz I missed a word? Especially since we're on the same side. Out of curiosity, which greedy drug addicts were you referring to? Not Bush, Nirvana,Sublime, Blind Melon, Chili Peppers - I guess they weren't greedy and they definitely had emotion. I don't know that much about the drug habits of the 2000s bands - please, tell all!
one of my favorites. This song can never get old
WOW!!!!
I've been lucky to see them 4 times, this song always rocks live!
Six years later checking in. You are correct Andres.
One of the greatest pure Rock songs of all time. I put this one in the history books

Yes it is. If I live to be 100 I will blast it and enjoy it like I always did.
This song, has one of the best bass lines of all time!
Lol good one. Shits funny
🤘
Bass line driven, amp overriding lead guitar, the turn around a nice bass line.
Exactly what I thought when I first heard it. Makes me wanna play bass.
Really a flawless performance of what was a sensational, kick-ass record.
Great song, never gets old.
A timeless kickass song from the guitar band days!
Lol good one
Shits hilarious
Great song. Listened to over and over during my commutes in Atlanta.

If this song is nostalgic to you then you were definitely a nineties baby with good music taste

How many adjectives did you add to make yourself feel intelligent? Jesus, man.

Timeless 90's
My favorite song till I moved from my hometown and away from my crazy ass mom. NOLA saved me, my intuition saved me. My gut saved me.
I like the price tag on the strat and the les paul rocking. It's an interesting guitfiddle thing.
I like the price tag hanging on the headstock!
Damn they sound good!
Gotta get he Fender back to the store before anyone realizes it's missing.
Eu só estou conhecendo em 2024 , devido a ums série do Netflix 👏👏👏, queria ter conhecido antes...
Saw them with LIVE back in the day.
fav fukn bad ass song
Beautiful song.
GREAT
BAND
rare nowadays
What's this 'band' you speak of..?🤔
The quintessential 90s song
Pretty damn good. I think his voice straining just adds to the urgency of the chorus if you ask me. At least its in tune.
exactly
Sounds to me like his throat is just hoarse is all ?
Great music.
I cast no aspersions towards the human but this song will preserve the humanity.
I bought many of their LPS because of this song.
I want that cracker cap 😆
I had one back then.
My ringtone since my 1st Android 🔊🔊🔊
A truly badass fucking jam.
Very good livey
...
This cuts so much ice!
Fun song to play on guitar. Kind of a swing strumming pattern.
Weird question. Anybody know where I could find that badass hat he’s wearing!?
Might not sound soo incredible but hey atleast there's no autotune. Originality has it's own beauty.

@deutscherjoel 28 years and 1 great song. hes on a roll.
Each member looks like he is wearing a costume from a different era of rock
The good ol days
....right on. Fun tune.
David's guitar still had the price tag on it. It isn't his best sounding guitar, I wonder if he returned it.
It was in tune when he bought it..
Good song live
3:47 "A million miles below their feEET!"
LOL
Like some junkie cosmonaut...
favorite song astig
Keeping the tags in case he's returning the Strat
What happened to the singers voice and harmonies?
Old fashioned rock n roll, with grunge sound added. Use a old school Amp, crank it up with old school 3-way speakers. Won't need a subwoofer! 😅
Look at the veins on the lead singer pop out! Holler style of old school rock n roll. DAMN! I wish I was there to hear it.....😂
fuck I love that fuckin bass line
Yeah
Low / Live!
Love this tune.
hunkatiel Ditto ;)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHNNY!

Does the front man have the price tag still hanging off the head stock of his guitar?
Ultra Shiver yeah to return it after the show and get a refund duh
Fucken awesome.
stratocaster still got da tag to pawn it back lol
Good shit
This song in movie “The perks of being a Wallflower”
I guess he has plans to return that guitar after the show. It looks like he never took the price tag off.
where can I buy that hat?
I dig Dave's hat. damn, they were skinny, and I'm pretty sure that the character of Johnny was played by Jon Oates. LMFAO
I agree
