L'histoire de Final Fantasy XV tourne autour d'un prince nommé Noctis Lucis Caelum, qui est le dernier héritier d'un royaume sans nom dans lequel le dernier cristal est maintenu. En raison de la modernisation de plus en plus apparente à la différence de pays voisins, le royaume de Noctis est lui-même isolé du monde extérieur. Le jeu se déroule entre deux nations s'affrontant pour la domination totale et le dernier cristal détenu par le royaume de Noctis .

Michael Diaz I find Sephiroth aesthetically more beautiful and he looked so pretty in crisis core, love long haired bishounen characters, not much a fan of Noctis hair tho.He's still cool looking.
This Noctis is the best version they made in my opinion. The dark vibe you get from him, as well as his personality are all perfect. Even the city he is in, has that dark feel, which compliments his character. I was expecting this in the full game. I'm not exactly disappointed, but I just wish they would have kept his outfit, and the dark vibe that came with him. As well as the way he displays his power as Prince AND King in this trailer.

It's never been stated that cloud is better than sephiroth, don't use that excuse to downplay a character and make yourself seem knowledgeable. Good effort though

Anime Cloud, Sephiroth, and even Sora all have been shown to cut down buildings with single slices. They've been shown to fly, teleport, jump over buildings in a single bound, running or moving faster than the eye can see and so on. From what he got from trailers, demos, and even the mini series of XV Noctis and his friends can't do any of that. I know Sora isn't a FF character, but he is tied to the characters of the series. Since he has talk, hangout, and even fought along side with them.

Sadly, Tetsuya Nomura gave up on this game. I think if he didn't this would have been the BEST FF game ever created. But at least he put together the basic foundation of it.
@@jasonthor9340 he didn't give up on it. He was released from it and the project was turned over to another director, also Nomura's new work which is Verum Rex is heavily adapted in this universe (FFXIII:Versus)

I appreciate that they played this theme during the final level.
Hearing this theme reminded me of all the trailers I've watched through the years, how much the game changed, the development the game went trough and most important of all this trailer. The trailer made me fall in love with this game.
This trailer brings back so many memories. I can't believe how far this game has come to get to this moment right now. Just over a month and it will be its release. Makes me tear up just thinking about how much in awe I was of this trailer, and only yesterday I was playing some of the final development of the game. Its so majestic and this game will be dear to my heart regardless of how the end turns out.
the new trailers show updated version of Noctis but I like this one the best. the newer version looked like he's a bored normal prince while this one looked as if he controls the world with his will.

I believe Nomura remodeled him because he wanted Noctis to look like him, basically making a game about himself. I mean, he finally managed to become the director of the world's most famous japanese-style rpg franchise, a king of rpg. It would be quite natural. Power and vanity often stick together.

Just as long as he remembers at the hands of game-challenged person like me, Noctis would need to die countless times before finishing the games.

nos0323 I can't really say Noctis is Noctis anymore. Well, when I saw the new trailer and gameplay (2013) I was a little disappointed since Noctis went from lone ranger to having two helpers. And he looked like a brat too. Then I saw the 2014 trailer and... Noctis went from a brat to a weak prince whose three companion have to protect him. I wept the loss of this Noctis and this soundtrack since I believe they changed that too.

Oh man, I still remember my teen self freaking out from this trailer and begged my dad for a PS console.. kinda disappointed to not see this Noctis in FF15 😭😭
And here we observe badass in its purest form.
For me, this scene should had happened before the engagement ceremony, when Noctis and Luna were supposed to meet after her being abducted by the Niflheim many years ago. I imagined it like this: The peace treaty was promised to be signed before the engagement party. Noctis was being driven to the party, but the Niflheim betrayed and attacked King Regis. On the outside, the resistance and the Niflheim army attacked Insomnia by surprise. Noctis and his friends arrived to the gates and they fiercely defend the castle in an attend to save King Regis and Insomnia (at this point Noctis is still not able to use the Armiger). Simultaneously, inside the castle, Nyx is rescuing Luna, but King Regis sacrifices for Luna and gets killed by Glauca. Is at that moment when the soldier fires the bomb and Noctis defends himself using the Armiger for the first time by pure instinct, and by doing so he realizes... his father has died. Heart broken he enters the castle just to find his father lying in the floor liveless and to learn that Luna is missing. He doesn't know that she was rescued by Nyx, so he takes the Regalia and ask his friends to help him find Luna, as he believes that she was taken back to Tenebrae. The game begins.
There was so many ways to make this game the greatest Final Fantasy ever made, this game had all the pieces to make something beyond epic, something that would have stayed in our memories forever, characters, the world, the lore, everything could be used for an amazing experience, but we received an average game instead. So sad…

of course you do. the formula for a successful main character is to make them invincible and badass, often times cold hearted as well.

the "new" noctis didn't hate people. this "old" noctis never got fleshed out and so we don't know if he hated people or not, heh.
regardless though, you make a video of a character showing little emotion while effortlessly destroying his enemies, and you got a successful video for the sheep that love this shit.
Since they've stated that FFXV will be a tragic story, I'm hoping Noctis will experience a great change and this demeanor and attitude are the results of his transformation. I love to see characters that experience development like this. Also, here's to hoping that his original outfit makes it into XV in some way.
I know right man, things like that greatly improves the writing. We can only hope that it comes to fruition. And yes man to further proved that he has grown into a different person through his experience, it would definitely be great to see him wear something different from the beginning of his journey. Preferably the outfit in this video. It just spelled badass the first I saw him in it back in 2006.

I remember when i saw this trailer for the first time 8 years ago and thought how god damn amazing this game was going to be on the ps3... boy was i fooled. By the time FF15 finally releases it will have been 10 years of waiting on my part. Supposed to be out mid or late 2015.
not to mention it's now being released for ps4 _+ just come out already this is soo frustrating!! though they must have used the time wisely because the art and music is just incredible =^_^=

I see something similar to this happening at the end of XV. Noctis splits from his friends and goes to that throne room, where he waits for the final boss to show up. At that moment, the battle for the Lucian throne begins

When the trailer is better than the game itself
This is literally Sasuke, the whole invasion, probably the whole family had been killed in order by a certain someone he trusted, and he's pursuing that person with his squad. The Japanese really have a thing for that "emo avenger traumatized by family member"
Tetsuya made the original Noctis stand out, and he wasn't afraid to portray it in this trailer. Most FF games don't get this much "violence" (safety word, lol) and motion, but to prove that he was quite important to FNC and adapting how protagonists go on with their struggles (especially in power), this one is the best. His eyes are cold, and little is there any remorse on his features as he takes them out one by one - without getting hit ONCE. Then how he leaves, to rest on his throne; knowing the measures to take onward, that topped it off for me. But now the Noctis we have today is so feeble, is rather clumsy, and carries a more hesitant demeanor than how he was made then. Which is disappointing, had they not adjusted both characters and storyline. Stella would've been a great fit, had they just given it some time. Now she's replaced by Luna, and now she's like the "nobody" of Stella. xD
I really hope they can go back and continue where they left off. I have hope that it'd be better than what we got, especially for those that favored the original supposed plot too.
There's always that World of Versus possibility
You know, come to think of it, the premise of this trailer is kinda odd. Noctis comes out of his throne, OP as heck, to face the heavily armed soldiers. Goes blinking everywhere, with his swords, killing dudes left and right and 10 storeys above which is cool and fine. He is still outnumbered though and an rpg comes going dead center for his head which he blocked effortlessly of course. Then what does he do next? *Walks back to his throne and chills* LMAO. It's like he did that just to flex on his abilities.
WHY WHY DIDN'T THEY WENT WITH THIS NOCTIS INSTEAD 😢

That would be awesome. Like because of events in the game he is just so DONE with it all and just snaps, killing everyone. THAT would be amazing.
I think that what they have shown us is just the "happy" first parts of the story, the story will eventually go dark and it may be that the noctis we know from the older trailers will be emerging.
If you watch the recent gameplay they showed at gamescon (I think) It shows that he'll try to find all the royal swords (the swords we see protecting him here in this trailer). So If he already has all the swords here, it's possible that what you're saying is indeed what happens.
I love the way this may all play out.
i wish they had never changed the story with Tetsuya along with that song in the background for stand by me! now the gameplay and the story looks lame which's not what i've expected when i see this trailer and other gameplay like invasion part they also took out the final build....maaan.

Versus Noct was no doubt more badass and op af (a personality resembles Sasuke more too lol, w/o the arrogance), but seeing the other XIII trailers he still has a bit of that awkwardness (like when prompto headlocks him). though all in all his character was a lot more serious, making the dark theme for the game true.
XV Noct on the other hand was more down to earth, much more dorky and softer, and was NOT this strong. I guess this relates to the "based on reality" thing, showing how he got stronger. His character was a lot less stoic and cold.
SPOILER if the end of XV was replaced with versus Noctis I wouldn't have felt so awful, idk cause he was more mature. XV noct was too much of a precious bean to see him go like that, then again, we have no clue if he or the others "died" cause the plot was just so open.
Stella had more of a role, if only Luna was made to be a bit less like a sitting duck princess like in the omen trailer...
The dark theme fit so much better with versus XIII, it felt as if it was just thrown in there in XV.
