@@HeftyDrops problem with m night movies now is that they’re all about the twist. The twist is great but the feeling of something “different” from the norm suddenly happing and the atmosphere/feeling made him famous
i saw it in the theater and wanted to walk out. i tried watching it a decade later and wanted to break my tv. it is so baffling that anybody likes that movie.
Signs is entertaining no doubt about it but the water thing is just so pretensious. Shaymalan putting water cups and all kinda water related things in the background of every shot like it would be a mindblowing twist when it comes. Water oh the essential source of life on earth is their doom, how poetic. It doesn't ruin the whole movie for me but I can see why it does for so many. Village has it's own problems, other ones than the twist but I enjoy it too ectually. More so than Signs.

The last time I watched signs I laughed the entire time I saw a glass of water and one of the other people in the movie pick it up, point at a glass or just bitch about finding another glass of water. good stuff. I know M. Night gets sh!t on a lot these days but at least he is doing some stuff and trying. Does every movie work...no but a lot of his stuff is better than 6 underground that I just watched.
I agree with Bobby I remember being a kid renting signs from blockbuster and when that alien walked across the screen I was terrified if and when the invasion happens it will be similar to signs
The aliens might have been demons because they talk about god and demons and angles the entire movie and the water hurting the alien is holy water hurting a demon .... This movie goes deep
The water makes more sense if you interpret the aliens as demons and the girl is blessed so she’s actually leaving holy water around the house. Which a higher power is compelling her to do like all the other coincidences. Happy accident or divine intervention.
Loved Signs, but the only thing I hate about it is that our atmosphere itself has moisture and humidity which is water itself. So how could the aliens even step out of their ships with no suits and not get some sort of “moisture burn” like a sun burn, but from the moisture that’s in the atmosphere
I like signs too, but the fact that the aliens invaded a planet covered in water and water is thier weakness is stupid, its like humans invading a planet made of fire

There is a fan theory about signs that completely changes the whole movie, there is a plot twist not mentioned in the movie, and when you figure it out, its genius. All the shit that people complain about is void. But the movie doesn't spell it out for you and once you realise what really happened you realise you were part of a cinematic social experiment and you thinking it is bad shows, your own ugliness

I watch it every time it comes on TV. It's just a fantastic movie. Plus your right about six sense. Once you know the twist It's not as great.

The Sixth Sense is still just a more compelling story in my opinion. I can watch the Sixth Sense over again just because the acting is so great.
