I rode the new trains on Day 2 and was very impressed. The optimist in me says this will be a game-changer. The realist in me says let's not have a repeat of the Line 1 nightmare.
It is already a great experience and the difference in technology and power systems, and the proven vehicles and infrastructure, lend much support to a vastly different opening and operating experience than Line 1 had in the early years.
Thanks for doing this and keeping us informed on the status of this project. I don’t personally have a need to use this line (I ride line 1) but both my kids would use this new line.
Thank you Shane for these videos. Dow's Lake station will be very interesting to see develope once a connection to the new hospital is figured out. ' Please let Transpo know that the South keys shelter is still very cold inside. This will be a big shock for passengers coming from the cozy airport station
I noticed the south keys shelter yesterday. The issue is unlike the other shelters, the glass doesn’t go completely to the floor or ceiling to seal it like all the other heated ones so there is a draft and cool air being forced in with the wind. It’s still warmer than anywhere else at South Keys to wait but could be warmer. Hopefully they make changes to it at some point to improve that.
Wow I didn't even notice that, hopefully they get to that asap for the airport travellers. Also, I had to direct a few people with suitcases to the shelter there as they didn't know about it. Hopefully staff will especially look for those people who are travelling with a lot of luggage and help them out
Usually we always use a separate microphone but as this was a livestream and being shot with a gimbal, the wire going to the phone definitely impacts the stability/smoothness of the gimbal, so I opted against doing it. Later in the actual livestream, I had to use a charger and the wire got caught up in the gimbal arm several times. But I'll see for future scenarios like this if I can find a better way that works reliably.

Great video and interviews but was difficult hearing sometimes with so much crowd noise. You might want to get a separate mic for future interviews.
