Ben Finegold has said that some games you can just look at the final position and know immediately who the better player is. Just an absolute domination of a world top 20 player who'd been a world top 20 player for 40 years at that point. Fischer did that a lot to top players. Spassky in game 6, Benko in 1962 as well. He routinely outclassed world class players

Definitely playing e6 instead of Bb7 if I ever face this Nd5 move

Superb game, superb analysis. Lol'ed at 'Argentinia', 'Dubronovik' and 'Leepzig'.
The early b5 from Najdorf seems to leave his queenside slightly vacuous. Otherwise a steamrolling, festive RJF here.

Was this the game that prior to, Fischer boasted he would beat the "inventor" of the Najdorf in less than 25 moves?

Great analysis. I like to think, in your mate in three scenario, that Fischer would have played Qc3 and savored the delightful destruction possibilities. LOL

The Soviet team at that Olympiad: Botvinnik, Petrosian, Spassky, Keres, Geller, Tal. Yes, Tal was 2nd reserve. LOL.

Holy shit, imagine being able to say you destroyed Najdorf IN THE NAJDORF? I mourn the loss of Bobby Fischer, if he had contributed at the level Kasparov did in his later years, I think we would've seen plenty of chess fireworks...

god DAMN how does a GM lose a game that brutally? his whole board just fell apart so quickly, he failed to make a couple moves then all of a sudden it's like turn 25, nearly all his pieces are still in the same terrible positions they started in, and his king is getting massacred. i wonder where this went wrong, what did he miss, was he just playing poorly or was there some kind of trick? how could he have at least drawn, like what's the latest point in the game where if he moved differently he could have drawn or won?

I've been studying players games and always go back to Fischer. I like his feel and the way he handled the chess board. I also have the same feeling when going over some Wesley So games. I like certain impressions that chess players leave scattered amongst the positions they play. I guess its a matter of taste, or it could be my imagination, but I like the touch of magic they leave in some of these games. Did anyone leave that same feeling in you after seeing a certain game? If so I would like to see a video about the game and hear your thoughts sometime.

+Nathan Davis WOW, i started to post the same thing and then didn't.
I always go back to Fischer, there's something uniquely genius, and the only other place i see it is in So.
I wonder if they have the same personality profile??

+Silver Rings it is a very interesting thought that they might, but then again would be sad. I just hope to see more of his chess played and hope he doesn't lose that nostalgia his heart puts into his games.

Nobody plays so bad sicilian, even 1500 players...
Black is better after Bxg2, pure gambling on the Fisher side.
