    I usually used circle hook gamakatsu octopus brand for this kind of occasion in case the fish swallow the hook because circle hooks are designed to give a good lip and mouth hookup.

    A St. Peter fish. Widely eaten by many in the Philippines. Aka Javanese fish and Singaporean translated into Japan fish🤣. In the miracle of the 5 loaves and 2 fish, very likely it was this fish. Highly adaptable fish. Under the right salinity conditions, they can slowly become an estuary fish.

    Better use an adjustable floater rig. Its easier to adjust its depth depending on the depth of the pond/water. You can use one of those rubber stoppers or an adjustable float stopper knot

    • @AJVMFISHING
      @AJVMFISHING  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yup! I've use those before. But most of the time, my main line always get tangled onto the leader line and its kinda annoying to always untangled 😂 cause the prawns sometimes swim around in circle.

      Hi there 😁 for this trip I was using a 30g float. You can play around from 10g-30g. Do note when you use a lighter float, your split shots must be ligter. If its too heavy the float will sink. Hope this helps, tight lines 🎣

    • @AJVMFISHING
      @AJVMFISHING  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To allow the prawn to swim nicely above the Barramundi strike zone. The length of the leader will depends on the spot you are fishing. The deeper the water the longer.

    • @ziyadbagharib7803
      @ziyadbagharib7803 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AJVMFISHING I see. I'm new to fishing so all this is pretty unfamiliar. I was just at ubin yesterday because I saw that the tide was going to be super low - 0.1. But I didn't know how to judge what length of leader to use for a float rig. I decided to just use an apollo rig and caught some fish(!), but not the barramundi, which is what I was hoping to find....
