I am 12 years old,and I have been studying fish. I have been going to the aquarium studying fish ever since I was 4! And when I am grown I would like to work at the aquarium,so I am saying thank you for making this video!!!!
Running aquariums is literally everything to me! Even the "boring" or "gross" parts are amazing to me like water changes, water testing, cleaning equipment etc. So working at aquariums is basically a dream for me.
Thanks so much for this video! I actually just graduated with my master's in biology, and am going into a plant biology Ph.D. program this fall. Even though I'm more aiming at becoming a college professor, I love visiting the Tennessee Aquarium, and it's always really interesting learning how different people prepare themselves for biology-related jobs.
I'd never work a day in life! I just turn 28 and this is my dream! I just don't know where to really start so this helped me out alot. None of family have a college degree so I never had that real push plus life kind of reared its ugly head and I lost tons of family members along with my sister, best friend, and 2 first cousins then my mom got remarried and for a few years it was good but he became a very mean drunk so I was forced to quit get my ged amd act then started doing prereqs at a local Jr College but none offer what I need other than vet and vet tech but would rather not go down that road and do more animal care and would love to study more about the regreening of large scale damaged ecosystems and the reproduction of endanger species
My name is is Jonathan I am twenty two years old, animals have always been a passion. I started by volunteering at a small place which display fish, reptiles and small mammals. it was my introduction to animals. unfortunately this institution had many problems and closed. I was there for three years. I then joined World Bird Sanctuary as volunteer. I spent much of my six years there caring for and learning about hawks eagles and other birds of prey. I went community college to get my core classes out of the way. I am now pursuing a major in Animal Behavior Ecology and Conservation at Canisius College. all this combined has gotten me an Internship at New England Aquarium working with penguins. this is my current road to this amazing field.I hope this helps some one.
Today went to aquarium after I think 9 years since I was a kid I love it I felt so at ease love animals in general would love to start to work at zoo or aquarium it’s a job I’d love to do and would enjoy but like you said I will first try to volunteer to see if it’s something for me but altho I’m sure I would love to thanks
Im 15 (almost 16) and i love seals. Im documenting myself since last year and I really want to work with them. Be harbour seals or even sea lions I dont care, I just want to be able to “take care” of them. I currently live in Italy but I can understand and speak English with no problems, so going abroad isn’t really a problem for me. The thing is:I have no idea on how to archive my goal, especially because I don’t know if my little degree will help me.. Really thank you a lot for this video, Im hoping to have my dream job someday!
I have a bba in Event Planning, an interest in promotion/advertising/outreach and an overwhelmingly strong passion for the ocean...I would love to combind my degree and interests by working at an aquarium
This applies to every career friend. From zoology to law, to animation. You don't absolutely need a degree but it's definitely much easier to get a job if you have one

Learn to dive, get a marine/fisheries science degree and you will sail to this job smoothly
@@adiver4336 ya that’s what I hope to do I’m going to try and go to the University of Oregon for marine biology after high school.
This is extremely obtainable. You can do this!

I’m about ten even tho I want to work at an aquarium now I don’t know if I can yet even tho I want too.
Wait another 8 years
Do you have to have a degree to work at a aquarium
from what i know, a bachelors degree in any type of biology really helps. but there’s always the possibility of not needing one but that’s rare.
