    I just bought one now online (that red one). In my opinion, this is good for beginners, for practice or simply to just have fun with friends and family and enjoy music. This can also be used by those professionals who makes kid's gingle music, game songs (like Mario) or cartoon tunes (like Looney Tunes). I'm already excited in playing it.❤❤❤

    To add, looks Casio hasn't fixed the issue where the chords abruptly change if the chords are pressed slightly off-time unlike in the Yamahas.
    You can hear it in 4:40
    It also does that when switching sections like in 1:06 and 1:50 and 4:31 and 6:17 which makes it more annoying.
    That issue alone is a deal breaker for me.
    5:51 reminds me of rhythm04 PopBallad on my old Casio LK keyboard. That was one of the useful rhythms IMO.

    • @JeremySee
      @JeremySee  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True, Yamaha still has the smoothest chord changes.

      The CT-X800 is already supposed to be the portable one that has a compelling enough piano patch. I was considering between the Go:Piano and Piaggero and ended up with it. :) The CT-X5000 was too compelling with its feature vs price. I had to shelf my very old PSR-400 to make space for it...

    Hi Jeremy, thank you for your review. My son and I are beginners and I'm on a hunt for a decent keyboard that doesn't break the bank. I'm in a fix between Yamaha PSR E263 / NP 12 and Casiotone s200. I felt the simplicity of s200 is similar to NP12 it's easy and not distracting, I absolutely love the grand piano on np12 but it's $70-$80 more than the other two I've mentioned. For some reason I'm not liking the sound of Casio keyboards, this is one of the main reason I'm getting confused. Can you please help.

    • @JeremySee

      These rhythms seem to be better programmed than those on the CT-X

    • @HubertEtAlice
      @HubertEtAlice 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeremy See Hi Jeremy I am curious what makes you say that? Could it come from the fact that the rhythms of the CT-X700 and 800 are actually cut-down version of the 4-variations rhythms of the CT-X3000 and 5000 so that they sound sort of awkward when there are only 2 variations left?

    • @JeremySee
      @JeremySee  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      CT-X rhytms sounds better due to the better samples. But the transition between fills, variations & intro/ending seem abrupt across ALL CT-X range.

    • @saxonliw9502
      @saxonliw9502 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's because the styles are simpler for the CT-S so the logic for chord switching is more simple. The abrupt chord switching on CT-X is evident when more complex chords are used. If the chords are just triads, they are actually quite smooth, much smoother than on my BK-5. Probably has to do with the quantization also. I can't remember if there is a chord quantization setting for the CT-X.

    @bryangl1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In my most erudite and expansive comment ever: what a heap of crap. Fit for no purpose other than a small advance on a $20 toy. But thank you Jeremy for the thorough demo.
    On further thoughts, perhaps a bit harsh. I live in an affluent society so tend to think of low-end keyboards in the $300 region. But there are plenty of aspiring keyboard players for whom $300 is impossible. These keyboards at around $100 are more of a possibility and give the opportunity to people who otherwise have no chance, to own a keyboard with plenty to explore and develop their musical talent.

    • @JeremySee
      @JeremySee  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks for sharing Bryan. In my markets, average monthly wage can go as low as $200. So a $100 keyboard that performs reasonably at the price can be an opportunity for many.

      @bryangl1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JeremySee Thank you Jeremy. Initially I only wrote the first 3 sentences, then the number of queries you get relevant to India hit me and I suddenly saw my comment as being essentially elitist, and unaware of or unsympathetic to many people. I hope I made the addition before hurting anyone. There was no point in pretending these to be good keyboards as your subscribers would be well aware of the quality that is around. To pretend these keyboards to be really good would be patronizing ─ but good for purpose is something different.
