It is same even in their CB350 models. Their weight distribution is really something that amazes me. The bike feels so lite and nimble despite its heavy weight
Indian bramos is the fastest missile. If Re hired proper R&D then we can also compete against any other company. Vijay mallya made force india F1 team. Sadly it went short of money.
Test rode the Himalayan last week. As per your earlier video was expecting a bit of a struggle to take it off the stand. Nothing like that, found it's weight same as the old Himmy that I own. One of the issues with the BS4 Him 411 was that on the side stand it is too vertical and I have to be very careful while parking. With the new Himmy, this issue is taken care of. :)
It’s not about engineering science. It’s about sense and understanding the concept, Honda stand is in higher level it’s easy to lift but this will cause to easily fell down. I feel Himalaya is good for stable because it’s having little deeper side stand and stronger and this will give more stability. It’s always better sit on the bike and straight the bike.
dont try to deny the truth with your false sense of "i know everything"... it's a fact that himalayan has higher cg compared to honda.. it's that simple.. nothing about price or brand... differennce between bikes... and yeah.. it's engineering if you talk about placement of cg for any motor vehicles.. and even if the honda was as slanted as the himalayan.. it would be still easier to lift..
It's a valid point! The stability of Royal Enfield bikes, like the Interceptor, can sometimes be a concern when parking in tight spaces. However, with the Himalayan, that worry seems to vanish, providing a sense of security even in precarious situations. As for the Honda NX500, well, let's just hope no animals get the urge to use it as a scratching post! 😂
It's exactly because of the design, and not because of the reason that you provided. The centre of gravity on the nx500 sits lower, it has a ground clearance of 181mm. And the Himalayan's centre of gravity is higher with a ground clearance of 230mm. The bulk of the Honda bike is closer to the ground and because of that you don't have to displace a lot of weight when you are trying to straighten it.
Taking the bike off the stand does not matter when you get almost similar or probably better bike for half the price. Since you owned and experienced much bigger and higher end bikes your level of expectations are on higher side. A normal biker like me, will always upgrades from a lower end bikes to higher and I didn't find lifting from stand mattered for me with my Himalayan 450. All I see is value for money adv from our own origin and it feels nice to know that RE could provide us such a beautiful machine
Ive found it easier to sit on the Himalayan and then straighten it than straightening it first then climbing on it. Doing it that way shortens the lever length making it much easier to straighten the bike. Helps that I can flat foot while on it.
I have used Himmy its incredible but it really seems very heavy in certain situations. Like when it parked and no space to turn it you sit on it and push it backwards it is tough if in rough road. at times needed help to get it pulled out. I will try to do the same with NX and see if there is a difference. i rode Himmy in LEH it is a wonderful machine. slow speeds and in trails it is indeed a bit challenging in crawling speed.
Dumb Comparison, It’s common sense and understanding the concept, Honda stand is tall and has less inclination, it’s easy to lift but it can topple on other side easily like old himmy. The 450 is easier to get your legs over the bike and then lift it.
This is probably the most ridiculous comparison between 2 bikes that don’t even belong in the same conversation. It’s like before filming you’ve already told the guy what to say. Even if someone finds the Himalayan to be heavy to get off the stand… you literally bought a 200KG bike and expect it to be light? Also y’all can head to the channel: Big Bear Customs, Bosky explains a simpler way to get the Himalayan off the stand.
Hey buddy, under no circumstances am I mentioning about the reviews of Bosky. I am only mentioning about one TH-cam short in which he’s given a simple solution to the the “horrible” and “fatally engineered” side stand as portrayed in this video. Cheers! 🥂
Test rode the Himalayan today after my cousin was hell-bent on booking one after selling his Ninja 650. He never loved my KTM. But we came back home elated. RE - Rudimentary Engine and Rough Edges. Alright, my KTM ADV might not be perfect and be plasticity, but it is a decent bet. The balance between quality, comfort, and after-sales. My cousin was dumbstruck by the vibrations of the Himi and the uncomfortable clutch. 🤣Poor guy won't buy any Indian or European bike ever now. I have shown him your NX500 videos. Hopefully, he might purchase one or go for a used Versys or VStrom.
Thanks for accepting the truth bro, not many do that on internet these days. I think since ur friend has been riding the Ninja 650 he may not be happy with NX 500 power. Vstorm will be a good buy except the weight though. But if he is ok with the power then nothing like NX
Bike which are meant for off roading require more inclined side stand, you won’t find plain surfaces to park the bike . you feel safer when there is enough weight on the stand. In this comparison if you put a block underneath Himayalan stand you will not feel the weight. Compare them once they are inclined equally.
Absolutely wrong, none of the Advs except the Himalayan has that inclined angle, when u dont find plain surface because of the top heavy nature the bike may topple over the side stand. Checkout all the bigger advs all of them incline less. Bikes are made to hold major part of their weight on the two wheels n only small portion of weight is transferred to the side stand. With that inclination u wont even be able to climb over the footpegs n sit, which we often do on other adva
bulu bhai, i think in terms of pricing and power, eliminator 450 will be better comparison instead of himalayan, although the formats are different, if you want to compare legacy motorcycle companies it will be fair to compare Honda with Kawasaki or Yamha or Truimph (not bajaj partnered) and twin cylinder with twin cylinder. Please see if you could compare Eliminator with nx500 purely on aspects like premium components, weight management, power delivery, vibrations etc.
Its because of height because honda's handle bar is far higher than RE,the weight distribution is more even , the larger the length, the less force is required to pull, its like opening a door, when you push the door from the farthest point from the hinges, you can do it easily, but when you do it from the nearest point,it becomes hard, Just make Himalayan taller
