yes exactly right! We cut a hole in the centre of an old table, and then made a 'catapult' to fire the salt through the hole. The hole in the table is a smaller diameter than the cup holding the salt so that the cup stops when it hits the table. The salt was backlit in front of a black backdrop and filmed at a high frame rate.
