    remember to talk to all squadmates after each mission. This game has hours more banter compared to previous game

      Wayyyyyyyy more. The ship feels so alive in ME3. It feels like a home.

      Agreed. Every squadmate has unique things to say after every main story mission, for the most part

      Don't worry, I've learned my lesson from ME2. I'll definitely be talking to the squadmates every chance I get.

    The opening to ME3 is insane, still gets me a decade later. Legendary edition has the extended endings that came out a bit after the game released which expand upon the original endings which is nice. Hope your enjoying the game so far, I think its the best of the trilogy.

      Oh I'm really enjoying this! Seeing the devastation (especially the scene in episode 2, with the kid) really hit me in a way that I don't think the other games have.

    The game is great imo, its basically the ending that sours the experience for some people, i personally have no strong feelings about it, but most of the game i love

    Eh, I mean the ending was fine now it's patched (not the best, but still decent). The beef is mainly among the players who had played the third game when it was just released (I'm one of them since I forgot to apply the patch back when I was playing it on PS3😂). The third game was my favorite in the trilogy. Mainly because of the journey we had throughout the game, it was a rollercoaster ride. Hope you'll enjoy this one too :)
    Several non spoiler tips:
    -New weight system. The more weapon you carry, the longer your power recharge time (Although it didn't matter that much since you're a soldier class). This didn't affect you squamates, so you can equip them with any weapon you want.
    -You can upgrade you weapon level on the Normandy (up to level 5)
    -ALWAYS check the map(on the Normandy and other places) for NPC's NAME or you might missed important interaction. The banter in ME3 felt much more natural compared to previous games, so you wont find NPCs fixed on one location every time, you'll have to find them. This is just for reference, in case you missed anything. There're a few NPC interactions that wont show on the map. Double check everything just to be safe
    -Companions that you bring to mission(ESPECIALLY during main missions) will be important since they all have a different unique banters (with Shepard and with NPCs), so choose your companions well.
    -DO PRIORITY MISSION LAST, Except for one priority mission that starts with the letter "E" that you'll get later(as soon as you'll be able to explore), do that Priority: E..... mission first. You can do it later if you want, but you'll miss some dialogues.
    Edit: - iirc, the codex entries you received early on are the ones you've already read from previous games. So you skim/skip them if you want.

      @KallistaPlays  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you for the tips! I'll definitely keep them in mind. And yeah, I know that most of the early codex entries are from the previous games. But I like listening to them, they're a good recap for me.

    Ooooooh shit here we go!
    I don’t know what that person was talking about, that ME 2 and 3 aren’t RPGs 🤪 Maybe they were referring to just the multiplayer segments?
    I really love Jennifer Hale’s acting in this game, especially at the beginning…Shepard’s had enough of not being taken seriously and she’s done being polite about it. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts about the game overall!

    • @KallistaPlays
      @KallistaPlays  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No they weren't talking about the multiplayer segments, they were adamant that ME2 and ME3 are solely shooters. If you look in the comments of the final episode of ME2, they wrote a short paragraph about why ME2 isn't an RPG. Jennifer Hale is one of my favourite voice actresses, I always think she does a fantastic job but that scene where she was interacting with the child was so poignant.

    The Alliance never actually dismissed Shepard's claims about the reapers. Udina did, but he's a politician, not Alliance. Hackett believed Shepard, Anderson believed Shepard, and, as Anderson said, the Alliance council believes Shepard, or they would have already court-martialed her for blowing up a Batarian system.
    The fact that Kaidan, the number one Alliance Reaper expert after Shepard died, was sent to investigate the Collector disappearances, also points towards the Alliance believing her. They likely suspected the Reapers to be behind it all along. Why else send Kaidan specifically? This makes the Alliance not busting Shepard out of Cerberus' grasp after you meet Kaidan again even more puzzling, but that's ME2's writing for ya.
    Admitting that an apocalypse is coming is not something the Alliance (or the Council) were willing to do publically, though. Which seems understandable, to be fair. Although not to Naomi, maybe. After all, she's just a soldier, not a politician. She points and shoots.
    In other news: let's go! Hope you'll enjoy the game. I prefer ME1 the most out of the whole trilogy, but ME3 was a firm 2nd favorite for me, even when it was just released, with all of its flaws (which have largely been erased in later updates and DLCs).

    • @KallistaPlays
      @KallistaPlays  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Naomi just doesn't trust the Alliance. She's seen evidence that they've done shady stuff that's directly screwed her over. By not coming forward and plainly saying 'We, the Alliance, support Shepard's story about the Reapers.' that's as good as dismissing her in Naomi's eyes. As you said, and I agree personally, it's not prudent to cause mass panic when you don't really know what the threat is. But Naomi isn't a politician. She's not thinking about that, she's thinking about how Alliance was involved in Akuze and that they'd absolutely screw her over again if it suited them.

      The biggest problems with Mass Effect 3 release were to do with EA's scummy behavior. They had a day-one DLC that most fans thought should never had been a DLC to begin with, let alone a *paid one* (10 bucks!). The endings were very controversial at the time, half of it because of the very idea of it, half of it because of the extremely minimalist vague execution of it. There was such a backlash that they ended up giving an "extended" DLC to give the ending much more meat and closure, which I think it did. Many people still bicker about the concept of it, which I kinda don't (entirely), but you'll be the judge.
      Meanwhile, ME3 had 3 (besides the day-one) really good DLCs added to it, which are just part of the game you're playing, and so overall the entire package you will be playing is a completely different beast to the game that pissed off so many players that there was a whole movement about it (Retake Mass Effect). It even included giving cakes to developers. It's a whole story. All to say, don't worry that much about it. You're playing a good game. I really like it. It's just that people who were there at the beggining still have sour grapes about how things went at the time.
      Regardless, take this into consideration: you're NOT going to be able to either agree or disagree with the "criticisms" that ME3 got, because your experience will be far too different. Your critique will be your own but of this version of it, you won't be able to capture the feeling or understanding of what happened more than 10 years ago by playing this.

      @@LuisManuelLealDias The criticisms I've heard is that the game is crap and has a bad ending. Nothing more specific than that. I understand that I won't have the same experience as someone playing the game on the day it launched in 2012. But I will be able to come to my own conclusions regarding the game being crap and whether I think the end is bad or not.

    I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I thought the original ending was fine. It seemed quite fitting. I was there when the controversy happened, and most of the complaints I heard made very little sense to me. I can't say much because I don't want to spoil anything, but it seemed to me that most of the people who complained didn't really understand the point being made. That being said, the new ending is definitely better.

    Found your channel last night, definitely planning on watching your entire trilogy playthrough when I can :)
    I'm a bit confused about where you got the Alliance okay-ing Cerberus from though, even in ME1 the cell you dealt with was presented as a section of the military that was infiltrated by a Cerberus cell and then went rogue (since the alliance was trying to downplay Cerberus at the time). They never knew about the truth of Akuze.

    • @KallistaPlays
      @KallistaPlays  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you! So it seems like Cerberus' history with the Alliance got retconned in ME2 and ME3, but in the first game Kahoku reveals that Cerberus is a subdivision of the Alliance. They were originally an Alliance Black Ops group. And the scientists that Toombs was targeting were former Alliance scientist who were involved with a classified project on Akuze. Considering that the whole point of a Black Ops group is that their actions don't get attributed to the main organisation, it's possible that the Alliance okayed the research Cerberus was doing on Akuze but distanced themselves when it went wrong. As I said, it seems like the Alliance's history with Cerberus has been retconned slightly, but in the first game they never say that the Akuze team was infiltrated by Cerberus.

    • @amyelnah8717
      @amyelnah8717 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That's fair, I definitely agree there was a big retcon there, likely since they wanted a bigger focus on Cerberus as a human evil faction (to contrast the Reapers).
      I probably let my knowledge of them from 2 and 3 influence how I saw it when I played through 1 again (on a rerun of the trilogy rn after having to put it on hold midway through 3 a few years ago and never getting back to it. Currently only got Thane and Samara left to recruit in 2 before I'm doing all the loyalty and side missions.)
      Thx for explaining how you got to your view of it :)

    3 is more RPG friendly than 2. You're interactions also allow you to be more clear than Renegade mean Paragon nice. Both options now only build reputations more or less. Though more Renegade will effect your face...👀
