Thank god for the win. Was a great game . All south Carolina had to do was catch the pass in the endzone. Great season from a long suffering illi i fan
The SEC fans are quiet now that Bama, A&M, Tennessee and Carolina all got embarrassed. Lets be honest, the SEC has been so top heavy for the past decade with 1-2 top tier teams. The rest of the conference is no different than the other conferences in tetms of strength of schedule. Was not surprised that Texas who was a BIG 12 team did pretty well in the first year in the SEC. Outside of Georgia, all the rest of the SEC teams were not great. Even teams Georgia struggled against (Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Florida, Mississippi State, Bama, Ole Miss) were not good this year either.
Every single so-called "professional" that was arguing for ANY 3-loss team (pretty much all of which that were argued just so happened to be SEC teams) to be in playoffs should never be allowed to make ANY public statement about their opinions EVER again.

@n1ckinch1 then if you did you would know this. ILLNOIS fakes injuries everytime SC had momentum and never got a flag. So South Carolina and Alabama were supposed to be playoff eligible even though they had three losses each. Both lost to very mediocre Big Ten teams today so I guess the SEC owes the country an apology and maybe the coaches and AP will stop over rating the SEC in the future so a three loss team like Alabama is NOT RANKED #11 in the nation.

Umm, nope. Not doin that. The saltiest of Bama fans who just couldn't process being left out and deserving it, sure. Probably not even them now. South Carolina hasn't played that poorly since week 3-ish and would probably beat Illinois 7/10 times. That's just the truth. On their best day they wouldn't beat Penn St or ND

Illinois football is on the map
Coach Bret Bielema, that Wily old manatee, fielded a team that played a little better, hit a little harder, controlled the line of scrimmage a bit better, and most importantly, bent the rules a little bit better. They were the better team. Of course, the transfer portal has pretty much destroyed the bowl season.
Well said.
That and opt-outs

Great competitive game by both teams. SC QB is INSANELY talented. Better than most seniors as a freshman.

Another S.E.C team takes a loss. 😊
Illinois was 9-3 (as was SC) so one of the better Big 10 Teams. Pretty even matchup.
Bama is still overrated. Only reason they are ranked that high (and the only reason anyone complained they were left out of the Playoff) is because of brand bias

@@TheExodusV The gesture that Bielema did was what the referees do when they signal a substitution of players. Over the course of the third quarter, Bielema called for defensive substitutions really late. This forced Carolina to use timeouts to prevent a delay of game.
