I've wanted to do the Batik technique literally for years but could never find a simple tutorial. Then, I happened across your tutorial. Simple, clear instructions and such a beautiful finished product! Thank you so much for sharing!
I’ve seen an awful lot (with emphasis largely on the “awful”) of batik tutorials in the half-dozen years I’ve worked with polymer and all three of these are by *far* prettier than any of the others. Heck; they’re prettier than all the other *combined*. While some of these techniques are similar to (and even in some cases the same as) the others, your execution is much, *much* nicer than those. You clearly have better taste and aesthetics. Way to go, lady! I think you’ve actually inspired me to try ‘em out. Thanks very much, and best of luck to you in your polymer endeavors!
Oh I love this way, I've seen another way using pebeo drawing gum and painting it over the areas you want white and then colouring the piece then rubbing the gum off, but I like this idea especially with the translucent as a protective barrier over the colour, last time I did a batik piece was in highschool, can't wait to give these options a go 🙌 Thanks so much, can't wait to give this a go 🙏💗
There are so many variations! I've seen someone use regular white glue instead of drawing gum (might be cheaper too). I also use Clear Liquid Clay instead of varnish or translucent, so another option :) Thank you!
