I've played this Orc's weigh in at roughly 400lbs and have the striking power of an angry bull. If it wasn't for the SF's I doubt the battle would of been won.

Well in reality a modern army would have never allowed a 2 million orc army to be resupplied. They would have starved to death long before the battle while being under artillery fire.
But in terms of the simulation breaking point was when the modern soldiers found a gap to disengage while firing.

    • @stefha6062

A more realistic form would be great. But i think the Software is not able to simulate it:
Normally only the first 2-3 Lines of Soldiers would be able to fire.
All Lines behind would hit their own people.
Except they stand on higher Ground then the first Lines.

Also when the modern soldiers carried something like plus 3000lbs of ammo and their gun never deteriorated despite 25 minutes of nonstop firing. I've no idea how much ammo a tank would consume if they fired nonstop for 25 minutes but I'm pretty sure 500+ shells takes up a lot of space.

Also much much sooner there would be a mountain of orcs as cover for the approaching orcs. They would essentially stop taking casualties as they ran up to the front.

Only because tanks here have infinite ammo.. as do the soldiers.. If this was a "real" battle, the modern army would run out of ammo in few minutes (if they could all shoot at once as they do here)
You'd also need elevated ground to be able to shoot past those tanks (at least if you wanted to shoot orcs behind those tanks) and the elevated ground would be needed especially for the snipers, so they didn't have to shoot "through" their own
I'm not saying that modern army could not defeat overwhelming army of orcs... if is was in better position and with enough ammo, they COULD possibly win... but in the situation depicted here? Modern army would be steamrolled..

Humanity and the Orc Nation Mer'Orth had always had a rocky relationship.
Small skirmishes came and went, until a uneasy peace came to both races.
The leader of the Orc's Mor'Geth oddly respected Humanity for their violent and sometimes unorthadox nature to single handedly wipe out entire battalions with their mechanical horses and slim rapid fire crossbows. Meanwhile Drex Mantale of humanity did not trust the Orc's however he would accept the peace treaty between them, as Drex himself saw enough carnage to last several lifetimes. How could so many just run into weapons fire and not care? Maybe the stories of a the Great War had not only merit but also tales of so many brave soldiers that did the same.
For decades the peace between the two nations continued at a place both nations called The River of Blood Sand, how ironic that the zone between them would be so fitting, in the coming months.
For all of his power and strength, age is the ultimate enemy to all, Mor'Geth knew this. His body breaking down, and his sons as well as the other Orc leaders saw this. One by they challenged his authority to the The Great Throne. So his sons in secrete created a plan, to once again go to war with the piny humans, however out of the five of them one would not return. It was decided, and the plan was executed. GLORIOUS War once again would come to Great Nation of Mer'Orth!
On the other side of the world humanity stood at a impasse, a very dangerous one. Their Elven allies had asked for help at their southern boarders. Drex saw this not only as a opportunity to strengthen their alliance with the Elves but also saw that to get their they would have to pass a narrow passage that the Orc's did not control. Drex Mantale himself would lead the forces to their allies as a show of goodwill and to show the Elves that humanities leaders do not hide behind others. However during their trip, a small band of Orc's ruthlessly attacked a settlement. Humanity gathered a small repelling force a drove them from their territory, but the captain of the force discovered something chilling. The leader of the band was none other than Dorth'Geth, eldest son to Mor'Geth. It was hear the captain relayed the information to his leader, the line went dead silent. Drex knew now that his forces where to soon be surrounded by Orc's. His Supreme Commander and Special Forces Operator, Logan, would force Drex to a mountain top away from the coming battle. Drex was besides himself, he knew all too well on how ruthless the Orc's could be, and now he sits here and waits as his forces are about to engage the enemy.
Meanwhile, a messenger had came before Mor'Geth to inform him that his eldest son was brutally killed without purpose. When Mor'Geth demanded proof, the messenger took out his bag and handed to him. Within the bag was indeed Dorth'Geth head but there was also a ping sound, seconds later The Great Throne erupted in a flash and fragments. Mor'Geth roared loudly, in his eyes not only was humanity at fault for not only killing his eldest and butchering his corpse but now a assassination attempt? This would not stand!
Another messenger came baring news that large force of humans where crossing The River of Blood Sand. Within moments Mor'Geth gathered his armies and marched, he stood at the highest ground as his forces flanked humanity on two sides. Their defense formation was new to him, but he didn't care. With a loud blow of the war horn they charged.
Humanity being flanked and setup into a Pentagon Defense Position their Supreme Commander Logan asked the gods to look over his leader and give them the courage to survive. At the sound of the Orc's War Horn Logan yelled as loudly as his lungs would to open fire on them.
Their tanks would bare the brunt of the attack and hoping do the most damage to the enemy numbers, but the more they killed the more kept coming. Hours into the battle sand beneath them was turning red with blood, but that didn't stop them, bodies piled on top of bodies, walls of corpses forming, the smell of blood, death, and gun powder in air choked them all but they kept fighting.
Their defensive line of tanks collapsed too badly damaged to continue, the next line would be smashed into. Screams of help and calls for their family would ring out, they continued to fight. That line would soon fall as well, either the soldiers, nor their leaders could understand how so many came to be.
As the sun was about the set the last line of soldiers, humanities finest, the Special Forces made their last stand. They finally saw the end of the Orc's Horde, and with renewed vigor fought harder than before. This time pushing the Orc's back and drawing them into crossfire. Sadly though Supreme Commander Logan would lose his life as he became separated from the main group.
The last rays light saw the Orc Horde defeated, Humanity cheered victorious, but it wasn't one of happiness no it was remorse. So many of their brothers had died on this battlefield.
Drex looked over the battlefield now stained red with the blood of Human and Orc. He saw their Leader Mor'Geth and made his way over to him, when he called out his name, Mor'Geth did not respond. As they approached it was clear that he committed suicide for this great failure.
The Elves would come to the battle field only to see, piles of corpses, and humans that where barely holding on to any type of composer. Drex had looked to his allies that he was suppose to help, yet no words were spoken. The Elves got to work on helping them instead in any form.
The Elder of the Elves approached Drex and simply told him, "Rest old friend, your help has arrived." The wisdom within his voice shuttered but a moment, and with that Drex collapsed, crying like a new born. However, yet all knew what this was, the nightmare had finally ended.
If you made it this far thanks for reading! I like to do these types of stories every now and again. This was a fun one to do as their was so little material but the question was so open ended I could make my own and fit it in. If you think it was too dark I'm sorry about that.

There are lots of things to consider with this scenario. Here are a few:
    1) Individual rounds fired by the modern army would likely go through the bodies of the front rank of orcs into the ranks further back.
    2) One round will not necessarily drop one orc immediately.
    3) As orcs get killed, their bodies will pile up. That will impact their mobility, but it will also provide some impromptu cover. This will allow them to close the distance without getting shot.
    4) If they're all on flat terrain, then not everyone in the modern army would be able to fire direct fire weapons at the same time at the orcs. Maybe the front two ranks, plus the tanks. Without being on a hill, or using indirect fire, the rear ranks would be masked by the front ranks.
    5) Modern weapons overheat fairly rapidly. They also run out of ammunition and malfunction. This simulator doesn't seem to take into consideration time to reload assault rifles and machineguns.
    6) The modern army infantry would have grenades rocket launchers, as well as crew-served weapons like medium machineguns and light mortars. Again, if the terrain is flat and if they are the rear of the formation, then all of their utility would be limited except for the mortars.
    7) The tank main gun rounds could include HE (high explosive) rounds. The tanks themselves would have at least two additional machineguns operational (the tank commander's and the coax).

Just drive the tanks forward in this case, run the buggers over, they are seeping in between the tanks anyway, so, not much point in holding the line and giving them effectively cover from own infantry. The gun muzzle flash would completely anihilate anyone in front of the vehicle as well. Aaand short barelled 75mm guns would be better in this scenario - better HE splash radius of nothing else. Really great battle. I did figure that the orcs would lose in the end, but the large numbers of snipers made me wonder. Trading fire rate for accuracy and stop power per round was questionable. But the tanks would hold long enough against even 2 M, I figured. Without trolls, orcs tend to fatally stall against tanks and rifles, and most of this fight seemed to bear that out.
Towards the end, the snipers might have provided withering fire, but were no no match for the remaining orc numbers. Even the shotgunners beginning to fall away. But Special Forces are a not a force of valuable, but vulnerable 'artillery' as archers (or snipers) are, but a 'bag full of hellcats' for the orcs once they broke into their pocket. The combo of auto weapons and keep away tactics, and the 'anvil' of the remaining shotgunners to their 'hammer' made for a surprising end victory after it looked like the orcs were going to win in the end.

I think the SF's were using a modified M16 most likely using 762 rather than 223 and the M16's were easily switched to a "sniper" mode just by adding a scope and single mode, they were far more accurate than your typical sub-gun. They were using burst instead of full auto much easier to return to point. SF's are never a "spray-n-pray" type.

The reason the army won was due to the fact that the orc warriors didn't have them fully encircled.
This resulted in weak areas in the orc's front lines during the course of the battle.
Eventually those weak areas resulted in escape points for the final solders that were able to move backwards.
The final soldier's ability to use those weak spots to move backwards into enemy free zones is what saved the day.

Accepting the internal logic of this game, I would say that if the Orcs had simply not focused the tanks, they would have won. They got torn to shreds standing around the tanks for so long. Rushing inwards to the troops instantly would have won them this with a million to spare. They could easily do the same amount of damage to the tanks while also killing the soldiers if they neglected to stand in queue. Silly Orcs! :D This was an oddly random find and I enjoyed it.

my only problem is the lack of a proper line of battle. If the shotgunners were riddled throughout the tank line as they would be in a modern army (infantry +tanks I mean) then the tanks would have avoided being surrounded and woud have lasted much longer at minimal cost to the shotgunners numbers. This would have let the tank's AOE attacks last for a much greater amount of time leading to a much clearer victory for the modern army.

I can't believe some people are saying the Orcs would win against the modern army. Some do not understand the simulation and want to give the orcs the win, stating they would run out of ammo stating that in real life they would not have infinite ammo. However people quickly pointed out, orcs are not slowing down, much less dying from one or 2 shots, most orcs are taking 5 shots or more. Also their are several other bigger problems. The Tanks would shoot at range not next to each other, the soldiers would let the orcs get closer creating the mounds closer also the inner circle could alternate with outer circle to reload having mass ammo in the center. That is just tactics within what we saw that would address and fix any issues with the game confines. However in a real world scenario, you would have A 10 flame drops and artillery troops decimating the orcs. Even without the A 10 and Artillery. The orcs stand no chance. So how about we leave the stupid what ifs out of it. I mean look at history. Indians fought against a not so modern armies and were decimated. Orcs are far inferior to Indians because Indians at least had arrows and some range weapons which would not help in this situation much but it was at least an option.

If you pause it, right at about the 21:00 mark, you can see the exact point where the scales tipped.
A hole was forming in the orc ranks, and that was the key to the ending strategy.
Presumably, if the orcs had... I dunno, another few thousand to their name, they probably would have won.

I'm a game developer (relatively newbie) tell me if i'm wrong
    - each unit has DPS
    - and defensive DPS, that is their dps can be calculated to do fatal damage per unit per second
    - the higher the technological military tier, the higher the defensive dps
    - at some point even the unit's basic hit points can't withstand a high enough dps, no matter how many orcs or zombies you throw at it. a million babies can't overcome an A-10
    - flanking presents 2 things, flanking area and flanking extra damage. flanking ignores all defensive dps, and the larger the flanking area of a unit, the more units can flank the unit. So a sniper has very little flanking area, vs a tank has 50 spots, 10 of which is 100% defensive dps area.
    - maneuverability changes defensive dps to thwart flanking, but it opens up new flanking spots, but if the defensive dps is high enough it takes time for the killed unit's spots to be filled by new mobs. so a tank can maneuver around to target 10 different spots.
    - speed is how fast a flanking spot can be filled vs how fast a unit can maneuver to target new spots.

Actually Artillery would devastate them before they even got near enough to engage whilst they were on the approach That huge number packed so close together it would be lethal
It would be a Turkey shoot with modern artillery ranges of UP TO 30KM ! The barrage could start whilst the Orcs were several hours by foot away By the time the Orcs had tried to cover even 10km towards their target under a constant barrage of high explosive shells , air bursts, each single one taking out hundreds of them then they`d have lost over half their force at the very least before they even came into sight of the modern armies front lines
Add in air support with single bombs capable of taking out a thousand plus of them in one go and I think the Orcs would be down to less than 500,00 easily

Honestly, while it was a major moment, the breaching of the Tank line wasn't a turning point by definition. They were the frontline defense and they served as a mighty breaker against the rolling tides of Orcish density. You literally could see the waves. They were expected casualties.
The real Turning point for me occurred with the major sniper line breach at the 15-minute mark. Once I saw how quickly they cut through that line I knew they weren't going to make it. They got good numbers in though. At least during that point in the battle.
We got into the final defense and I wasn't sure how the mobility of the SO units would work out, and they eventually got packed into that dense blob. I thought the fact that there was just this blob of shotgunners at the tip of this giant spec op spearhead to be really cool and enjoyable in the moment.
I really and truly began to doubt the military given how quickly their first 2 infantry layers went through, but their mobility really came into play for kiting during the initial breach into the Military final stand, and after they managed to break out. It wasn't until they break out and gained full mobility I saw the truth for what it was.

A truly wonderful simulator allowing troops to fire through their friends towards the enemy, without reloading or overheating their barrels. Almost everyone stands still in position even when it would be better tactics to form new fronts. No morale effects. Those troops that do move, move as quickly backwards as forwards, even when the ground is a blood swamp full of broken bodies. Tanks explode when hit by swords and spears for a long enough time, and their hull and coaxial machine guns apparently don't work. I suppose it's not the simulator's fault that the tanks are standing still in place instead of circling the area and running orcs over as they fire.

Let's see if they can take the beating or if enough of a gap will punch through to take out their ranged support.

Undeniably and weirdly very entertaining. There were a lot of unrealistic details, though, and orcs existing wasn't the worst of them. Unfortunately for humanity, as long as we leave their existence out of it, more realism would mostly favor the orcs. Naturally, even then, the orcs would have higher losses than the soldiers, due to superior range and rate of fire, but the orcs should win very clearly.
    Examples:
    - Friendly fire!
    - Orcs would have archers.
    - Modern body armor leaves a lot of gaps where arrows can penetrate.
    - Archers can actually fight in deeper formations than firearms, volleying the arrows above orcs ahead of them.
    - Tanks have weak spots; the orcs would've figured them out.
    - Battle axes are "one strike, one kill", unless the opponent has very good armor, designed for the purpose, suitable weapon and training for blocking, or is running very fast away.
    - Most modern body armor would be worthless against battle axes.
    - Orcs are very strong. Orcs inside your formation would be a major disruption, especially since you'd be shooting two comrades for every orc.
    - A modern gun would probably block an axe, but not while also firing. It would also probably stop functioning.
    - Modern soldiers have no training in blocking battle axes.
    - Guns run out of ammo. Battle axes don't.
    - The soldiers backed away at almost the same speed as the orcs sprinted forward. I get why they would be very motivated, but...
    - A lot of soldiers should be moving like they needed their diapers changed, because, well, they'd need their diapers changed.
I could keep going, but, instead, I'll point out that the most glaring inaccuracy was the diaper thing.

Differences from a more realistic scenario would be:
    1. Lines of Fire. More than 3 rows of Infantry probably can't fire at the same time.
    2. Tank Durability. Melee range would let the orc stuff the cannons and break/jam the tank into immobility if nothing else. Actual modern tanks would keep and kite the orcs at 40 mph for a few hours. But run out ammo long before.
    3. Orc Durability. The first few rows of orcs should be mulches by that much firepower, and keep getting mulched until reload/overheat of the weapons happens.
    3. Ammunition, without massive piles of more ammo, that small regiment would run out of ammo before killing 2 million.
A similar 'modern' army could kill all the orcs easier by just getting rid of the resource sink tanks and replace them with machine gun emplacements, 50 dudes to man the guns and 50 dudes to supply ammo from a big pile in middle. Have the machine gun emplacement pair up and take turns when overheating. Big enough caliber bullets should mulch through multiple orcs and keep misting the first two rows of orcs and killing the third.

    breaking point of the war.
    Tanks breaking apart.
The ability to retreat and keep distance from melee type enemies provided a makeshift wall for orcs to climb over slowing them down and eventually killed.

A couple of things to mention here:
I'm not sure, what those orcs are wearing, but usually in such a tight formation a full salvo of the first line of soldiers should mow down them a lot quicker than in this sim. also the tanks should be allowed to move and just flatten the orcs. they would also be invincible against most of the dmg the orcs could do with their axes.
I would also have loved to see friendly fire taken into consideration and thus maybe not an open field as the battlefield, but a construction the soldiers should defend, with high ground for the snipers and such.
But after all an interesting video to watch.

I love the idea of the tanks creating choke points for the orc army to go through as the bodies piled up it would have created an even bigger obstacle for the orcs. Worse than what was shown in the video. The only downsides and probable reasons a modern army would have lost in this exact scenario are that limited ammo and friendly fire would have made this a MUCH quicker fight. That said no modern army would ever line up like this they would have guerilla warfare'd the orcs into oblivion.

@@BattleSimulatorCenter I understand. And it’s not your fault. But then it doesn’t really matter about the setup, or so I felt. I would rather see 1 well placed sniper take out 100 orks or 1 orc sneak through a maze killing 100 guards. Then it would make some sense. Also, I am a grumpy fart 💨😄👊🏻

In the beginning, there was Peace between Orc and Man. A tenuous one, but it had lasted generations as each faction respected the other's prowess in battle. But then, Change started in the Formations of Man. A previously minor noble rose to power and prominence and began to make changes to the very core of the Formations of Man. He brought reforms and new ways of thinking, but with this change he also brought strife. After years of Pentagonal Thinking, the Formations of Man began to change at its core to... SQUARE.
This unheard-of change to the innermost workings of the Formations of Man was an insult that the Master Orc could not bear. For generations, he and his ancestors had watched over Orc-Kind with firm leadership and brutal discipline. The Formations of Man with 5 sides was odd, but prime and therefore in its own cosmic way, balanced. With the very core of the Formations of Man changing to square, and therefore NOT prime or odd, the Master Orc saw trouble. While he would have preferred to keep the tenuous peace, he would have looked weak and ineffective should he not answer the Formations of Man's blatant disregard for Balance. Knowing the battle would be brutal but with the optimism of a true warrior, the Master Orc committed his hordes to the battle, determined to bring a new balance, one with odd and prime shapes!
