Onitama was the game that kicked off my girlfriend's and mine board game addiction. We played it last year while on a holiday in Cyprus. There was an Englishman there who owns a board gaming hobby store where he doesn't sell games but instead you pay a small price of 2€ to play as much as you want, and they sell snacks and drinks. They don't live there and they only open the shop seasonally when they themselves are on holiday. I asked the owner for an entry level dueling game and Onitama was the one he recommended and taught us in a few minutes, it was very fun and a nice story to tell.
that's it-im totally sold on this now! the next time i see this game in store, i'm definitely getting it! thanks so much for sharing-such a whole story
Onitama is amazeballs. I really like the Way of Wind expansion, but the base game is awesome on its own. You can set it up and learn it in a few minutes, and it plays in no time at all. Really fun spin on chess-style play.
Orc! I live in London and if you go at weekends, it can be super busy cause it's not a paritcularly big space so you're trying to work around people, it gets a little uncomfortable. But agree that the layout by theme is super cool and they generally have great stock
ORC. Ooh this game store I've actually been to. I was there last August. Very tight to move around since it's pretty small although you can't really tell from the video. Revive is great. Played it last year. Definitely worth a try.
yes so true! there were actually a ton of people in store and they were so kind ( i didn't realize it until later) to wait to look at the games until we finished filming 😭 definitely will look into revive down the line, thanks for the tip!
I didn't realise Orc's Nest was still around, first place I came across Monsterpocalypse (the original release) and never stopped kicking myself for not buying it - this would have been about 2009 as they had the expansions. Glad you reminded me it is still there as I'm off to London next week.
Awesome! I visited London by the end of last year and if I knew about this store I would have stoped by without a doubt! In fact I visited the British Museum and I see that this store was not that far from it.. :( Next time I will. Thank you for this series of videos, cheers!
so happy you did get to visit the museum though-i'm adding that on the list to visit next time im in the UK! It's a small but really cool shop with lots of games~ i hope you get a chance to visit next time!

Great choice on Kiri-Ai - best micro game in years.
They have their full shelf of Oink games too!
OHH i've only played one oink game so far, but definitely will be collecting more small boxed games!
