Excellent tour of Port Townsend Bryan and I loved the drone shots but am curious how you were able to pull that off with Port Townsend being in a no fly zone? My drones won't even turn the propellers let alone fly in a Red zone.
Port Townsend is not a no-fly zone. Only DJI geofences it because they go way overboard on their restrictions. It is a military restricted area meaning you are not allowed to fly within 3000’ of a military vessel. As long as there are no military vessels you are free to fly the airspace… unless you only fly DJI - then you have to waste half your battery getting cleared of their geofencing. I still love my phantom 4 Pro and I love my mini, but I have to fly so I bought an Autel EVO ll. (And now it’s my favorite ever!!!)
@@DavesRvRepair I understand your frustration. It was really a hard decision when I bought my EVO. I felt like I was cheating on DJI. I have so many DJI products and I love them, but I have to make real estate videos of waterfront homes so I had to look for an alternative. The EVO ll surprised the hell out of me with its dependability, flight time and truly amazing footage right out of the camera.
Oh, my heart swells with memories. I moved there in 1974, bought a little Victorian house for $13,000 and raised a family. I lived there for 25 years, working for the City, County, and State in parks and public schools. A beautiful place with wonderful people...some of the best years of my life! Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
Lived in Port Townsend in the 1980 's for a couple years and during the filming of An Officer and a Gentleman ... worked at a wonderful little restaurant called the Blue Parrot ... such fond memories of this special place.
@@captnbry Thankyou for the time and energy you put into your videos. Although I may be on the other side of the world 🌎, I also get to enjoy your town, the slice of heaven that it is, so thank you. Keep up the great work 😊
Jerry, I couldn’t agree more 👍I just spent yesterday afternoon walking water street and having lunch at Siren’s with friends from Chicago… wonderful place to wander. Don’t miss the Antique Mall!
I can’t say for sure since I’m not in Property Management but our company (Coldwell Banker Best Homes) has a property manager in PT that would have a better answer. The number to call is (360) 390-4100. I hope you find the perfect place!
As a renter, I was priced out of town 5 years ago. Went homeless. Finally in a subsidized apartment. Vacancy is less than 1%. People moving here and buying homes for twice the price with cash. Want to be a roommate? Get ready to spend at least $800 for the privilege. Most public service employees have been forced to move away and commute.
@@captnbry yeah I was afraid of how much more expensive it would be 🥲 I know the coast is more but evertime I go to the coast of WA I feel happier ! It's so beautiful and rich of history
No mention of watching the Orcas swim by every year while up on the cliff at t he park. You are correct about seeing whales swim by. There are a number of happenings that are not mentioned and were not intentionally omitted… in fact there were orcas off North Beach just last week. That being said it is not a daily occurrence or weekly or monthly! You just have to be at the right place at the right time. I made this as a general introduction and invitation to visit. I certainly don’t want people to expect to see whales… seagulls yes!
Another coastal "arts community" that floats on welfare, trust funds, and public agency employment. If you like ever-so-funky stuffed sidewalk manikins in rocking chairs playing a violin you will love this place. It was an old logging, fishing, and mill town the Californians turned into a theme park where all the residents are now just too damn "interesting and intelligent."
My dream is to move there, to Port Townsend and to work at boatyard (if I am not mistaken it's called port Townsend Marine work). But I don't know yet how to do that. I live in Russia and it's not easy to get a job visa in the United States. But it is so sad to know that my country is killing Ukrainian people every day. God, save Ukraine🇺🇦 And thanks to all the countries which help Ukraine

I have 3 DJI Drones and can't fly them anywhere around here.

Yeah I've watched some videos on the Autel and it does have a great camera.
All of the restricted zones are what made me decide to start doing iPhone videos so I can film the places I cant' with the drone.
perfect views
Port Townsend is a very beautiful place with so many opportunities for great photos!
🙏 Thank you!

Im thinking about moving to the Pacific Northwest. Thx for the great video.
Thank you. I cannot think of any good reasons not to live here! It’s honestly like living at camp😎
So good video 😍😍
Thank you! I appreciate your kind words 😊
Hey Brian! I am interested in living in Port Townsend. Is there any affordable housing as in rentals?

What is affordable to one, is outrageous to another. Not as expensive as Seattle unless you want a large Victorian home. $450,000 on up.

Very nice town. I love visiting there
It is a wonderful place to getaway! Thanks for watching and commenting.
I just moved to Port Townsend
Welcome home! Get outside and you'll love everything you see!
I wanna move here from moses lake wa ...but don't even know how to start 😭
There’s places for sale or rent over here. It’s probably more expensive than Moses Lake but the lifestyle makes the extra expense worthwhile.

Wear a wind breaker and good luck finding parking. But lots of chotskies and tee shirts to be found in the tourist shops.
Thanks for the tips!
Manressa castle!
Spent our wedding night there…

port towsend is 99.9 percentold people
Might be a little overstated but yes, there are a lot of folks who found Port Townsend years ago and just never felt the desire to leave❤️
