- We got the flathead engine running... and it sounds really good!!! So now we're going to fabricate a transmission mount using 2×1 tubing 😍

Bolts are suspose to go down on the engine mount ,so if the nut falls off the bolt stays.

Looks like a V6 because of the center two.. shear what seems to be one. But it's an 8 ...👍
The centre two ports must be small by looking at the size of the centre pipe!

Just curious why you are setting tail shaft of transmission so high. The hole through x member is where tranny usually sits. Hope Chad explains.
That is not the original frame for that body, it has been cut and the front part of the frame has been welded on top of the back of the frame

Where Chad was going to weld on to the frame next to the engine, fish plating would be the way to go the way they have it welded now. It would make it a whole bunch stronger. Just grind it and put the fish plate on the outside then do your work for custom look. You guys do a great job, love watching your videos

No one has mentioned the way the front suspension is "mounted." It is not an early 30's Mopar either. Front end looks like a late 40's Ford to me (wider axle then before 1942). Weren't 33 Mopars parallel springs?
33 pd , had springs, pe ,pf had the independent front suspension, but 34 pg had springs
Aren't engine supposed to have a slight angle at back of engine to stay oiled properly?

I say that the motor and transmission looks too high in the current forward frame modification, it's called lower center of gravity apologize for the negative comment.

I think just put a floor in it patch a few places and let Jolene race car it, not everything you build has to be chopped or finished to a show car, this is a true hot rod, sometimes simple is better

It looks odd as hell but in 4x4s the shafts are worse than that. BUT let’s see were it ends up. Farm tractors have no frame at all. Yurt please don’t cut the shape out of that beautiful body.

This looks like a re-run from the past year let's see rusty old frames greasy motors chop this weld that common jolene talk some sense into chad and build something nice and correct that someone would pay alot of money for being covered in dust every day is cool but let's step it up spend a little money you will get it back same old song is getting old im trying to hang on but it's getting harder and harder to stay loyal.
The screw-ups are the only reason to tune in because you certainly aren't going to learn anything beneficial that would come from Chad's short-circuited brain.

Make sure it has a rotor button lol. Transmission mount should be simple to make.

Hey Chad, just a third eye here, you may want to bolt in the trans mount instead of welding just in case you need to pull the trans later. He has no clue what he’s doing. You can’t put an engine in level with no suspension on the vehicle. He doesn’t know nothing about mechanics or building anything correct he just throws crap together.

It looks like the driveshaft originally went through the X in the frame, like the '60s X-frame cars. So maybe the engine should hang on the motor mounts instead of sitting on top? There's quite a bit of clearance below the oil pan.

if you weld the cross member (transmission mount) to the bottom of the chassis it will give you ample room for an angle iron plate for the rubber mount, if you mount it to the top it will limit your amount of travel (adjustment)

That trans tunnel is going to sure be high. If they lowered the engine they could run the driveshaft through where it’s built to. Then pinion angle will be correct. Plus wouldn’t have to cut into the frame like that and be less work in the end.

Chad! You can’t have the engine and transmission 1 1/2’ feet ABOVE the rear end. Better let Nate layout the drive train, go get your grinder and cut some fender skirts

The driveshaft angle would be way too much as it is with the engine in its current location.
He has no clue WTF he’s doing!! No frame finished not even painted, no suspension, no tires right or brakes , and he is try to set the engine on top of everything not down inside the car. Man needs some serious training on mechanical issues.

Don’t weld in trans brace or you will have to pull the body off or the front end to get the trans back out

If you are going to drag that car put rear mounts on the engine
If you weld the transmission mount onto the frame as you described, you may not be able to pull the transmission out (or Clutch) without pulling the engine.
It wont matter it’s all being done backwards, he has no clue what he’s doing , if history repeats itself it will never be finished and will be yard art at best. The man has no mechanical ability at all. Engine should been last thing in that frame, he had no suspension, nothing to get the right angles. He did not even prep or paint the frame he blasted, makes absolutely no sense

You know Chad .. there's this machine tool called a bandsaw... They cut real nice and accurate.
Cheap chad would have to spend money he’s probably waiting for someone to send him one I watch a lot of fab shows all of them are adding buildings or buying bigger ones adding new equipment plasma tables I know he added a building but look at it I he added equipment Pullman rusting his lift is bad the metal brake is all rusted nothing of quality cheap chad bad work

So how are you going to take the transmission out? The mount should be bolt in, otherwise your going to have to lift the body off to get the tranz out...
He doesn't think ahead. I would have cut four plates that are 4" x 4" or so and cut the brace and bolted them together as a flange so you could drop the transmission out.
I thought Nate might have spotted it..lets see if he figures it out. There's no way that gearbox is coming out the bottom of the car with that brace in the way

Agreed the best of the bunch by far and she could be better with someone teaching her the correct way of doing it. A good Mig weld on a frame member should be a continuous bead, not one hit at a time as she was instructed to do.
