    Minor SPOILERS, watch the video first!
    I hope you enjoyed this animation about a bunch [lettuce pun] of different molecules. For the nerdy code lovers out there, can you figure out what the DNA sequence shown might code for? And can you identify any of the proteins shown at 6:48-6:54 or 7:05? Comment or tweet @Biocinematics, and I'll retweet some of the first correct answers.
    Also I just want to point out that the cell at 12:52 is RIDICULOUSLY simple and inaccurate, much smaller and less complex than the simplest single-cell organism we know of.
    One more easter egg [pun]: the protein being digested at 6:33 is ovalbumin, the primary protein in chicken eggs.

    Please continue making these biology videos! All the channels talk about physics/social science, but none talks about Biology in the same way you do it. Keep up the great awesome work

      Thanks a lot! I am continuing to create videos, but with significant production times and other responsibilities (supporting my family), videos come out fairly infrequently. I hope to increase the frequency in future. Thanks for sharing my channel around, if you're willing.

    This is amazing! I’m so tired of looking at my biology textbooks and trying to visualize static images and diagrams. This channel is the perfect rejoinder to that. I’m so glad I found it a couple of months ago. The animations of the molecules here make me fall in love with biology all over again. You explain stuff in plain language and break things down in such a digestible way. Thank you!

    I am a teacher and going through your video was simply awesome. Explaining Proteins, carbohydrates, dna etc becomes difficult explaining theoretically. The video is very aptly made and the animation is too good for the kids. Will definitely recommend the videos to my students. Thank you.

    Finally a video that visually explains how proteins work from atoms up (minus the particle physics part). Eons ago I read an article explaining that lettuce contains amino acids just like a steak to build muscles but I need to visualize what exactly happens on a molecular level. This explains how ruminants build their bodies!

      Thanks! I do want to keep making videos, but the format and channel size mean it's not sustainable, I can't work on them full time (or even part time often). The channel isn't dead, but there's not going to be regular uploads

    Your videos are brilliant! In just a few minutes they provide a greater level of understanding than one could get from hours of reading a textbook. I was wondering: have you considered making posters/infographics with your visualisations? I could imagine a great poster on “The Building Blocks of Life”, showing the hierarchy from elements to small molecules to macromolecules. You could sell such posters as “merch” on your channel, and I’m sure schools and universities would also be interested. Anyway, thanks so much for your work!

    The jokes are sometimes quite American or English focused, making the video a bit less appealing for broader education outside of English speaking places.
    All your videos are super quality though! I really enjoy them!

    • @biocinematics
      @biocinematics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for the feedback! Unfortunately I'm monolingual (although Canadian, not American) so I don't have the perspective of knowing what's funny in other languages. Could you give me an example of an English-focused joke so I can try to take your feedback on board? It's true I sometimes use puns that wouldn't work in other languages, although I did have someone make German subtitles for one video and managed to turn the pun into a German joke, which was great.

    • @thelazymanatee2506
      @thelazymanatee2506 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You made some joke about mono? From the context I presume that's some kind of disease, but I've never heard of it. So it's probably an American or English specific name for it.
      Not a big problem or anything. But when you try to be funny, and the joke doesn't land due to language barriers, it looks a bit weird and takes the flow out of the video for me.
