Man the subscribers leaving the channel is normal, when we are growing fast it still happens we just don’t notice it but when our videos are not getting views then we start to notice the drop. Good luck

Onward we go no matter what. It's all about the work, not the return, especially here on TH-cam where we really can't control it. I'm just all about using this space to contribute and to continue to learn and get better. Thanks for coming through and for the encouragement. Means a lot. Onward we go!!

Connecting with the audience is what artists do that is why Hollywood is over, they forgot that

@@1stsquadrone810 for me with my work, that’s what’s most important. To connect with the audience. Whether it’s live or if I’m making a film, if I don’t connect, it’s a failure. Not just from a technical point of view, but from a personal, visceral perspective, for me art was made to connect people. To communicate, to listen, to share, to exchange, that’s what art is for. At least to me. Thanks so much for coming through and for the comment, I really appreciate that a lot.

It's really complex. When people cheer you on, it might be bc they genuinely enjoy your stuff. Or it could be bc your in the limelight (when your winning, everybody wants to be close). And one thing is sure, the more fame/light you get, the more hate you will attract. (Envy, the deadly sin goes as long back as Cain killing Abel - nothing new under the sun there) Freedom comes when you do things for you. - "if I was the last person on earth, I would still paint paintings" . - "If my audience was just one person, I would still write and perform." - "if only the wind hear me singing, I would still use my voice". - Why? - bc I do this for me, and hopefully, as a bonus, some others might like it as well. As far as the haters go, that's just part of human nature. Forgive and forget, move on, set wind into the creative sail every day we are given. Amen.

Yes to all of this. Like I said... I never inject my feelings into what an audience member feels, because once I release work out into the universe, it's no longer mine as far as I'm concerned. I was more talking about when other writers and performing artists say things to me that I KNOW they don't really feel. That bugs me, but at the same time I get it, and so.... Yeah... I like the truth, and I LOVE support, and so... this is a very complex and layered issue. Anyway, thanks so much for the feedback, it is much appreciated, and thanks so much for coming through again. Means a lot.

I give full permission to delete my comment. If your creative choices are deliberate, ignore me completely.
Almost all of what you said here I agree with and really appreciate hearing from a creative/artist. I do have children and I want their lives to reflect the best that I gave them but as they go into the world, ultimately their life is their own and I want them to be the unique people that they are.
I am going to criticize this video alone.
I got the strong impression that there was no script written, probably not even bullet notes. Without a script, it’s too easy to go on rambling about a point that should be made clear with only four or five sentences. I found it tedious to listen to you justify and or clarify what you’re about to say before you say it. I’ll admit, I started this very comment the same way!
I find it jarring when a video covers multiple topics with out having VERY clear transitions between topics, and the first topic covered should pertain to the video’s title as to avoid initial confusion.
I think you’re an interesting guy and I hope you succeed in your ventures.

@@uriahanderson1625 your first paragraph wasn’t even necessary. I don’t delete messages unless they’re completely ridiculous and ignorant, and off the rails. With regards to everything else, I never script my TH-cam videos, I have enough with memorizing scripts for my plays because that’s what I do for a living. I also memorize scripts when I’m in a film, same reason. For me, TH-cam is fun, and a place where I think I have something to offer to others as well, but it ain’t all that deep. If you take it that seriously, I don’t think my channel is for you because you’re gonna get a lot of rambling, and a lot of off-the-cuff kind of stuff because that’s what I think is appropriate for the way I run my channel. And that’s the key right there, it’s my channel. so I understand how you feel, and if you were a dramaturg, or a critic checking me out at the public theater or something like that, I would take this more to heart, but everything you said is reasonable to me. And how you feel is how you feel, and farbeit for me to ever tell anyone else how to feel, I don’t think anybody gets to do that ever, and so I appreciate you taking the time to watch, I appreciate you commenting, but ain’t nothing gonna change on this channel. Some people love this channel, and apparently some don’t, some people like Metallica, some people like John Coltrane. It’s all good. I appreciate you. I guess I say all that to say, your comment stays. :-)

I'll drop my 2 cents. I like you. I'd love to see you perform in a play as well ( I think the first live theater/play I ever saw was in the early 80s in NYC: David Bowie and John Hurt in The Elephant Man) . You are totally dedicated to your craft and I admire that. I think that your run time is too long on average. I'm not sure it's in your nature, but maybe you could try a few videos at the 12 minute or so as an experiment and see what happens. Also, I do enjoy when you are out and about whether it's in the City or outside the city. FwIw...

Thanks for this, I saw Bowie in that show, he was amazing!!! Thank you for all the kind words, I really appreciate that. I have certainly never been accused of knowing how to tell a short story. My solo plays are usually two and a half hours long. ;) Imagine looking at one person on stage for that long? But it works. For me, I make work that feels like what it's supposed to be. If I feel it's too long, I will definitely cut it, but if I don't feel that way, I won't cut anything just for the "business" of it. I know that might be to my detriment at times, but I've always been that way. My first director taught me a long time ago, as long as I can defend every word in my script, it should stay in there. I feel the same about TH-cam. Although it's not scripted here, as long as the video feels right to me, I just upload it. I know it's way too long for TH-cam sometimes, but I just live with the art over what the algorithm wants. I really appreciate the feedback, I LOVE being out and about doing the videos, and so I try to get out more. I tend to get more b roll that way as well, and so... we'll see what I do moving forward. At the moment I'm writing a screenplay for a new film I'm about to dive into for the next couple of years, so that is going to dictate a lot for me. Anyway... THANK YOU for all the good energy, it is much appreciated, and I don't take it for granted.

For real, you're maybe overthinking this. Ups and Downs as long as the Ups are larger than the downs you'll keep growing as a channel. There are also a lot of bot followers, that when hunted down by Google/TH-cam end up taking a toll on the overall follower numbers.
Nothing to do with your vibe or cursing. Sometimes I'd wish you'd go more into technical aspects of what you do, some people value a lot getting some sort of "technical information" of what you have. But I am an avid follower, not for the past 10 days, because I went to Morocco and got really sick, but I follow your schedule when at home. And home is Portugal, in the other side of the Atlantic.

Ahh, I really appreciate this. No matter how TH-cam treats my channel, I'll continue to do what moves me or compels me to share. It's just the way I am. I really appreciate this comment, I will definitely start to add more technical information around how I create my work. It's unconventional, so maybe people will get something out of it... Thanks for the push, I greatly appreciate that. Hello Portugal!!! Thanks for the good energy, means a lot to me.

@@RockWILK That is also something great about TH-cam; No matter the number of followers, you already got followers from around the world - a true, global audience. How cool is that, that people from all over the world enjoy the stuff you put out - something that local theatre could never do. (unless they stream it live, but that's for another discussion)
There is so much friendship, interaction and good energy out there, for anyone with an open mind. We are truly blessed to live in a world where a guy from Portugal can have a chat with a New Yorker, - for free! Technology has indeed advanced since Cursus Publicus (postal couriers of the roman empire). 🙂
