That is correct. For Gen 1 and Gen 2, they all applied/auditioned. But I will say the struggles of unity from the first two gens at first and seeing how Gamers worked so well together (Fubu-Mio and Okakoro), probably inspired Fantasy (gen 3) and beyond meeting as a group before their debuts so they can be more united and themed (hence Fantasy is all fantasy-inspired, Gen 4 is all supernatural beings, and beyond). Also this has led to funny memes now such as a gathering of all of Gen 2 being likened to drawing all 5 pieces of Exodia in Yu-Gi-Oh.
Mio joins Hololive without Fubuki knowing though. And Okakoro were recommended by Fubumio when Cover(or Yagoo, I forgot) wanted to branch off to game streaming.

there's a reason why FBK is well respected & really loved by the other members just next to Sora. countless stories of her saving other members for oversleeping before their scheduled streams, helping them in tech difficulties, being a great mentor with Hololive's systems, showing up on their livestream chats as well even on other Vtubers outside Hololive which also became the root of (CR) Crazy Racoon's Arisaka to get inspired by Fubuki. and btw FBK was in never and I cant stress this enough, NEVER part of any DRAMA big or small and on contrary, she was there for them just like how she sticked with Coco. . if people havent noticed as well, Fubuki is one of the few members that the smug rabbit Pekora is scared to pull a prank to because she respects her a lot probably how it is explained in the beginning of the clip as well by Korone. up until now, I still remember and will always follow her words as she said, 'You can place your trust on me, as long as I'm in Hololive, you can rest assure that everyone is okay'.

If you watch Fubuki's stream archive at that time, you can see there were tons of bots and spam in the chat back then. It took a solid 2.5-3 years for the bots to stop raiding her chat even with Subscriber only and Member only set. They were pretty relentless. Any collab she did with other holo's required that they also set their streams to Subscriber/Member-only because the bots would then raid the collab chats. I'm sure that caused Foobs A LOT of stress but she never really let it show.
Because of her silly nature, people seem to forget about Fubuki strong "top class student" presence. Considering that creating one "gamers" gen was her idea, we can only imagine how she was very exigent, straight to the point and, surprisingly, very intimidating to her new genmates. She even scolded Korone on her legendary debut, giving us a rare glimpse of Fubuki losing her cool and typical diplomatic manners.
I mean Fubuki scolded korone for her scuffed debut stream which is rightfully so since there was just so many bad stuff happening albeit funny. Korone could have asked for help before since Fubuki did the same thing for Subaru. I get why she thinks Fubuki is scary. Leader has to lead the pack

I thought the same. At Korone's debut, it's one of the rare time where you could hear Fubuki losing patience (understandably). Korone was extra nervous, made a lot of mistakes and wanted to stop after that stream, so it's understandable.

I'm not sure if it was true but, from what I've heard is that, it was because gaming streams became common with everyone that GAMERS basically lost its purpose, which is having members that are gaming focused.

Well, she felt sadness when Coco, Rushia and Mel each left the company. So she isn't just the "class leader", but best friends to those who know her.
