  • There seems to be some interesting things hidden underneath the adorable skin of a Furby. But what a pain in the ass to take apart!

A note to others, that's not the only way to skin a Furby. Instead of cutting the fur, you can cut the stitches connecting the fur to the plastic (Preferably with a stitch cutter to avoid accidents) in order to separate the fur from the body whilst keeping ears and fur intact!

Hmm. I’m just wondering how to fix the tilt sensor my 2 furby booms have as they keep thinking that they’re being shaken, and I want to help others on it as well.

Hi, a little late, but you could possibly take the sensor out and clean it? I don't know how different it is to the original 1998 Furby, but with those you could take it out carefully and open it to clean the tilt ball inside

Very late reply, but there's a very simple solution that's worked for me! The tilt sensors are small marbles in a compartment, and if the furby thinks it's being shaken, that's probably because the marble is stuck. You just have to turn it upside down and give it a few good whacks to jostle the marble out of being stuck. Hope this helps!

My 2012 have the same problem but I'm afraid to break him so I don't know what I should do :(

I honestly think it’s just something with the newer furbys (2012 to 2013) I had a blue 2012 Furby and two of the pink furby booms with White polkadots. All 3 stopped working within a couple weeks. And they all stopped working the same way the one in the video did. I think it’s just a design flaw.

@@slutaciouswhore4458 Thats strange, I never had a 2012 stop working on me, except for needing to reset when the batteries were replaced. I never had a Boom break either, though I cant find the two I had when I was little. I've had my Crystal Boom and blue and purple 2012 for years with no problems.

For the ears being in the way, pull out the lynch pin holding the ear nubs in, pull it up & turn it 90° & it fits easily through the ear base covers.

Now I know how to fix this I know it's probably too late considering you already tore it apart but you have to take the old motor out and take a working Furbies motor and put that in that Furby to get it to work again sorry if it sounds confusing but the first time I tried it I just gave up and ended up tearing them apart I said them because I have to Furbies I was trying to fix and I just gave up and now they're literally taken apart right next to me

So the thing with Furby Booms is there kind of like 2012 Furbies they're probably exactly the same but a female version of the Furby 2012 no I don't really know how to get the motor off the Furby to replace it but you can go ask Furby Queen Furby Channel they might know mostly Furby Channel the reason I know it's the motor is because the motor froze and the Furby turns off when the motor freezes because there's no power moving the motor cuz it froze so the Furby just shuts off it's kind of hard to replace a Furby motor I've never done it before because I try to avoid those Furbies because I know a lot about 1998 but not Furby Booms but Furby channels the complete opposite not really she works on both type of Furbies when the Furby breaks I know what's wrong with it but I try to avoid fixing it because the last time I tried to do that I couldn't figure out how to do it and it's now just sitting on my desk halfway deferred but yeah you might not be able to do this considering you already tore it apart enough but you can try if I took my Furby apart that far considering I already have I could not get it back together it would take me 5 million years to do that but yeah

Oh god I cant imagine ever getting this Furby Boob back together again. I have taken all of the components off the circuit board in order to study the engineering and design. It's not just a fun toy, but a marvel of engineering too.

Any tips on removing the bottom part of the chassis of a 2012 Furby? I need to replace some corroded battery terminals. Just removing the bottom plate cover dosen't cut it. Have resort to an almost full dissection.
My son thought a $2 deal at a Sunday market was great. He has given me a $1M headache, to fix it properly.
I have tried things like vinegar on the contacts and springs. half of them are too far gone.
    Arrrgghhh Furby.

I'm not 100% sure what may be wrong, but if you don't mind Tumblr there's a master post here which might give some links to how to fix different problems!

There is a few ways to you can try to put pressure on the speaker that usually helps or you can just replace it fully :)
