Strange how Dune shadows England in the mid 1400's, Lord fighting Lord for power and influence, but unlike Dune, the King couldn't trust anyone and had few men to back him up..

Some people say the old version is good, others say it's terrible... personally, I didn't like the aesthetics of it. The new version is a feast for the eyes in every aspect, while that one has some purposely ugly sights (for example Baron looks scary) and overall the visual part isn't very impressive imo. Shields look like square plastic boxes, etc. Of course it was shot a long time ago, but Aliens and Terminator were released at the same time and they have decent special effects and look good even now. Anyway, probably, that's because the old dune was directed by David Lynch in his unique style which I'm just not a fan of. There are some things I liked about that movie, though. The way that they literally could break stones and fight with words was pretty cool, was it in the books too?)
