Hi mike Barnett I want to be a train driver when I grow up these are the train company’s bnsf csx Union Pacific nolfork southern and Florida east coast and others so yeah.
Fine looking ride along Mike! I remember always looking forward to seeing L580, since it usually had a lot of freight cars and sometimes extra engines.
Thanks for your videos Mike. Youve gotten me through a pretty hard time here in Canada, being on lockdown for months on end. Enjoy your retirement man.
I remember when I was riding back to the fire station on an engine after going on a medical run we matched speeds with a train on the highway and we had a horn battle with each other for about 2 miles That was the most fun we’d had all day

I was wondering, do you switch drivers every certain amount of miles or do you go the whole trip of the train?
The whole trip or 12 hours whichever comes first.
@@locomotiveengineermikebarn8042 cool! I’m thinking if it’s worth getting into CSX. In my opinion, it’s more interesting than New Jersey Transit.

Yes indeed all railroad companies across the U.S. are know to barrow each other's locomotive power.
So what does the stuff like L and Q mean like L580
L is for late train and Q is for Quality or regular run train.
2:18 just wait 2 minutes. Your life is longer.
Is the Locomotive a CSX?
Yes
mr. barnett, what has been your favorite model of engine to drive?
Never had a favorite just so long as it was safe and clean
