Holy crap this deserves more views! Phenomenal story-telling, cinematography, and a relatable/authentic individual. Nice work Josh and crew, love what you're doing with Borderlands! Really rooting for you and your upcoming Zion 100
Great story. Really needed to hear this and watch this. I ran my first race (half marathon) in 5 years yesterday. Was doing great, ran my first ultra, and then have had several years of craziness. 2 car accidents, insomnia, major depression, life. Decided to give running another go this year. It wasn’t pretty but this documentary gives me inspiration to keep pushing through.
I just found your videos- love them! Finally a real runner with real struggles that we all face! I just did my first 50k in October and was DFL...I had a plan, but my mind got out of control for the first 15 miles I was pretty much panicking about how far I had to go. I swore I'd never do another one, but within 24 hrs I'd chosen my second race. I knew I'd let my mind get out of control and from all my experience and research I've done over the years- its the mind that's the most important. You can force your body to do almost anything if your mind is strong. During a race, sure, you're going to have negative thoughts creep in, but how you speak to yourself EVERYDAY is so important. You aren't the worst runner- you complete distances I dream of doing (and one day I'll get there) Don't talk negatively about yourself because subconsciously you're affecting your performance. At least, that's my two cents, but I'm no expert. LOL Good luck!! And thank you for the videos! 😊
fun to watch! I don't think we met on trail but I finished 11h26min just ahead. Had cramps at mile 13 and ITBS that started at mile 17 till the finish. Race kicked my ass but crossing that finish line just as the final light fell was magical.
“Be nice to my friend Josh.” Talking to yourself in the 3rd person, gives some space, and allows you to detach. Love your focus, #nopodium. My body is a reluctant participant in the ultra running journey, and I have almost as many DNFs as I do finishes, but I keep trying. #gratitude. 0/2 on the 100 mile distance, 0/2 in the 50 mile, have completed a couple of 50k , 60k and 1 -24 hour.
Hahaha...I don't know if this is good or not but you're so relatable to me and my mind. Well done staying with it until the magic happened! Love it when the magic shows up!
Inspiring video! I wish you luck on your next 100-miler attempt! Having watched my wife train for hers, I have an idea of how hard those can be. Kudos on your efforts! I got so nostalgic watching this video, too. By the way, the bacon steakburger pizza is a winner, with my family (and I always get to eat the pickles, since no one else really likes them).
Super fun to watch this now especially after knowing how it ends! (Spoiler alert). You are rapidly becoming the Don Quixote of Ultra running 😂😂. Congrats on the awesome content and brand. All of it is awesome and incredible engaging.

It came to me as I was listening to you talk about getting a 9 hour 50 miler. (A week ago I honestly thought you and I could finish Zion in 26😂)
I'm going to make a shirt that says "East Coast's Josh Rosenthal" and wear it until I get a cease and desist order😂🤣 maybe I will get some likes and sponsors🫠💩💀

Ha. Agreed. I was born in brownwood, lived in ft worth for 11 years and Lubbock for 7. I miss it frequently.

What was the brand of shirt he said he was wearing ???
The collared running shirt was the Bless Up shirt from Run Amok.
