Matthew, Jon and the OCC team, thank you. I really enjoy these sessions as it is these little live demonstrations that show and answer questions for a beginner like me.
Thanks for sharing these instructions. They are very educational. I saw that you found it a problem that the EZE-LAP tool bends too much, but I think that is precisely the intention and I believe it is as a safeguard against damage from too much pressure on the surface. If you use a harder handle, the pressure can become too high, which will damage the grinding surface. Keep on the good instructions. Many greetings from The Netherlands.
Hi Franklin Thanks for the kind comments. Yes that is an interesting point re the tool being compliant to protect the surface. The instructions on the back of the packet actually talk about applying more pressure. I think these are a very useful tool, I just bought the wrong one. it gotten my pallet face cut back so no complaints. keep watching! Matthew
Hi Jon. Thanks for the kind words. I have just checked and you are right; well spotted. the back pivot is bent down slightly. there is enough side-shake in the hole to accommodate it but I will straighten anyway. Yours Matthew
Just found this, brilliant video, I have a 200 year old clock with badly worn pallets and I can now see a way forward. Many thanks!!
