TAT-Omega Ceiling Fan. Decorative/Residential Model

  • Here is my TAT-Omega ceiling fan with rattan blades from approx 1988. I’m guessing the date as it was the same year the house was built and the design looks like something from that era.
    The original capacitor was bad resulting in the fan spinning slow and not doing much. I replaced the capacitor with a new one from Motion Dynamics, after that the fan took off like a top.
    The motor design on this looks similar to the UFO motor fans manufactured by TAT, for Martec, but the top and diameters are tapered instead of rounded.
    Performance is excellent. This is probably the most powerful rattan blade fan I own. It’s a pity really that these were prone to having bad caps. Enjoy! 😁

    I think those martec tats with 3 aluminium blades are more of my favourite😊😊

    You sure you replaced the capacitor with the right one? Cause the speeds seem too fast than it's usual regulations

      Yes I did, the original was a 2.5uf and I replaced with one of the same value.
