I love how it didn't take forever to see how she made this awesome flower!!!
Thank you! Two years ago I used this design for a Brooklyn Botanic Garden Cherry Blossom festival, in a performers'/VIP reception area. Made 36 of them and they were gorgeous! The guests and performers were asking for them afterwards. It made for an easy cleanup! My only fear was them going to waste! Some still hang on office doors, only need a little fluffing, now and again.! I spring on those lids when I see them!
Can't wait to get started thanks for sharing your masterpieces
Stick THAT on your prom dress! ;) Love this idea--would be great for so many different things--fashion shows, store displays, classrooms, stage props--thanks for being so creative and inspiring!
I would make these with plastic tablecloths.
I use that instead of tissue paper for hanging poms. Weatherproof and very durable! Can’t wait to make these for my granddaughter’s wedding reception!
Hi Peggy, the lids are leftover from supermarket trays of cookies, cheeses, etc. You can also get them at stores like Party City.
Best art teacher there is right here. Thanks Felicia!
That is so cool! I once thought of putting goldfish bowls with a couple of fish in the center of each flower, and have them lighted somehow... I'm sure your Concepts teacher will be blown away by your project.
Gorgeous!
To make a flower with a different-colored center, make the giant flower as shown in my video. Then make 6 small flowers in the color of your choice. (Use a stack of about 6 sheets of 8" square paper, accordion pleated, paper-clipped at the center and with the layers pulled up.)
Assemble the giant flower as shown in my video, then hot glue the small flowers right on top of the center of the giant flower. This way, the alternate-colored center will look nice and full.
Love this tried it with the all white and it is spectacular!!!!! Thanks for sharing!
So gorgeous, and surprisingly elegant! Thank you for sharing! :)
BEAUTIFUL! I am definitely going to try to make these for my daughter's birthday! Thanks
Those are GORGEOUS!
I love you! The flowers are soooooooooo beautiful! I have become so addicted to making flowers and I love to see the expressions on peoples faces when you give them a handcrafted flower. Thank you for this idea.

LOL! That would be a bold dress design. Cool ideas.
simply awesome!! thank you for the tutorial
They look wonderful!
This is just what I needed!!! My final project for my Composition Concepts class involves scale/perspective so I'm making 5 flowers with gradated colors. (dark pink, light pink, peach and then black, dark blue, light blue)
I also have a small maybe 7 inch bird cage with a couple fake birds in it. Not quite sure how to incorporate it yet though. Anyways... THANK YOU!!! ^_^
These are AWESOME! definitely going to make a wall of these for some portraits i had in mind.
They are beautiful, and easy to make. Well done!!!
When I was a little girl a neighbor taught me how to make flowers out of kleenx.
This is the same thing only on a larger scale!
These would be perfect for my daughter Backyardigans Party . She want the GIANT theme

I love these flowers! I am going to make some for a graduation party. I wanted to know how to make the center a different color, but I see someone else already asked. Did you use 20 x 26 or a different size paper? Your flowers seem to fill the container better than mine. Gorgeous flowers! Thanks for sharing.
Me encanta todo lo que veo,lo que hacen,,,,,,estoy enamorada de todos estos preciosos trabajos. Que vivan las artes manuales. Desde Colombia un saludo cariñoso y un fuerte abrazo!!!!

Krystamichelle, you can buy the trays (lids actually) new at a place like Party City, or you can get one when you buy a big party tray of cookies, cut veggies, cold cuts or cheeses at the super market.
Lucky graduate! All my big flower petals were made from 20 x 26 paper: five big fluffy petals per 18" plastic base. Have a great party.
What a sweet idea.
This is great! thanks for sharing.
Wow ! So pretty and so simple to make. Thanks !
Manju Karnani Thank you, Manju! I hope you enjoy making these flowers.
They are awesome!!! Thanks for sharing your skill, can you do a video showing how to organise them into a large bouquet? Just wondering....
It would be great to see pictures of everyone's versions of my giant tissue paper flowers.
Thanks for the kind responses!
Great idea!
Thank you! I find that each one takes about an hour.
How nice of you to take the time to post this.
Beautiful! I'm wondering about the lavender/purple flower shown in the photos. I don't see dark purple tissue paper in the petals, but it is in the center. What would I have to do different for similar results?
Thank you!
Certainly. Simply experiment. Adjust the size and number of sheets in the petals. You can also do a four-petal flower instead of five. The plastic base comes in various sizes. Look in the supermarket or at stores like Party City. Good luck!
Thats so awesome!!!
Gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks, Alicia!
Yay! Congratulations!
Your video was brilliant!!!! Do u have to use tht same brand of tissue paper?
