Thanks and you also a good year. Like your double salamander, but you forgot his salamander pet, you know. lol You also forgot any saddlebags or weapon storage mounting points. Like what you have with a horse. Say extra mags, weapons, a storage slot for his staff, a bag of food, things like that. Maybe even a heavy weapon or two, for anti-vehicle use. Perhaps a sniper rifle or a power/chain sword Now, there are three different strains of Rhino, from Horus, old 40k and now the hover Rhino. What can you do there? Like say the horus command version, just done with a proper Rhino? And as for the hover Rhino, what if you have a Rhino flatbed or so? Perhaps a transport or a recovery-Rhino? The new Tempestus Aquilons Kill Box version of the Tempestus Scions... Will that allow non chaos spacemarine backpacks? Yes, clip their wings, and use the Scions spare elements, here, so you have a Scion unit with command & so. This will let you steal the backpack for a non-chaos spacemarine backpack. And we all know techmarines, right? Would they have artificial arms on their backpacks? And are the normal engine exhausts not a better fit for such a mounting setup? Heck, could even be a heavy weapons mount setup, if wanted. So start thinking, there. If you remove all the skulls, from inquisition, sister & Astra, what do you then get? It actually makes it easy to make Ultra Marines, by removing the skulls, leaves U's, all over. Med kits are more distinct as well.
White Scar riding on a horse when? Also I'd recommend looking into checking out some tutorials on how to sculpt dragon scales for Salamander conversions, just incase if you want to do more Salamander conversions
I'm glad the mount and rider were molded separate. I think everyone had a similar kit bash idea. Just to throw out another idea: Salamander riding Magmadroth 😉
Looks nice. It doesn't really read as a Chaplain, but that is fine as it does get the idea of Salamanders across. Perhaps if you had removed the Imperialis from the chest and sculpted a rib cage then it would read more as a Chaplain. I love seeing people think outside the box and kitbashing, so very appreciated!
@@AnotherDayMiniatures A good alternative is to fund yourself some skeleton style minis and cut out the rib cage from them. It can look good but also needs some work. Keep at it and you will see constant progress!
I wanted to make my Dark Angels successor chapter's Chapalin on Bike, but with a horse. I scraped the idea due to a few roadblocks. Despite my chapter's frozen planet, I did come up with a frozen dragon like species being hunted and also tamed (got two small D&D dragon minis for walking into a store once, which became the bases of this backstory). So this does give me a better idea then Lord Solar's horse.
That's awesome. I guess any space marine chapter could have these if you use the Outrider rules for them. I'm tempted, but that's an awful lot of money for one unit. This was a great idea, and it looks perfect. Thanks for sharing!
great idea great execution . for greenstuff scale pattern tho there are easy tutorials on youtube . one is just roll up small greenstuff balls in different sizes , flat them out and they make a scale pattern
awesome video looks incredible, could i add tho you probably thought of this just thinking out loud if you took some inceptor foot pegs and added them for his feet he wouldnt look so floaty on top again its amazing and looks wicked! Keep up the hard work bro 3 foot rule no one would ever notice :)
My head cannon about the character the salamander he is riding is one he found abandoned as a hatchling and raised it as his mount in battle but the chaplains one regret is that when it grows too big he won't be able to ride(sonce salamanders grow to monstrous sizes since in the novel where the emperor found vulcan they did kill so very big salamanders) it into battle anymore but on the upside it'll become his forge helping him forge new equipment
I got some 3rd party space marines on bikes. I'm going to turn them into an Outrider Squard of Salamanders If we ever cross paths in this great, wide world, maybe your Chaplain can lead my Outriders "INTO THE FIRE! AND ONTO THE ANVIL!"
This ones pretty cool! Iv been going back and forth on whether I want to use this guy or one of the Seraphons new spawn of chotec lizard boys. Im glad I got to see this one. The salamander is a little too small I think, especially with what I have in mind to maintain the outrider bike appearance and game functionality. But this could still proxy pretty well in game
Absolutely great vid and model, but during the showcase the salamanders face appears blurry and out of focus due to its closer proximity to the camera, you should adjust your focal length as it does hamper that final satisfaction for a watcher.
Hear me out. You take a Raven Guard and put them on a great eagle and make a Raven Guard riding a great raven. You could take a head from one of the chaos deamons and put it on the great raven
He's cool looking, but whereas you were afraid he wouldn't read as a salamander now he doesn't really read as a chaplain. I think the mount and standard green shoulder pad and the second source of fire would have gotten you there, bonus points if you did a robes for him in scaled skin.
The reasons space marines don’t typically ride on living mounts is because 1. They’re too heavy 2. They’re probably faster and quicker than a living animal 3. Riding on top of a mount makes you a larger target (obviously some space marines don’t care about that) 4. A living mount will probably die pretty quickly in the types of battles space marines find themselves in. 5. A living creature requires food, water, attention and a specific atmosphere (literal atmosphere of their home planet)

Pls do a space marine piggieback mini it would be funny.
"Yo, man, I heard you like Salamanders, so I made a Salamander wearing salamander skin riding on a salamander."
White Scar riding on a horse when?
Also I'd recommend looking into checking out some tutorials on how to sculpt dragon scales for Salamander conversions, just incase if you want to do more Salamander conversions
Jay from Eons of Battle (i think) found an amazing way to create Dragon Scales by just using low grid sand paper
What about a raven guard riding a raven?
@norikwiese8900 Good shootout to that video
@@rogerhack3750 Good question
Give the horse white scars
I'm glad the mount and rider were molded separate. I think everyone had a similar kit bash idea. Just to throw out another idea: Salamander riding Magmadroth 😉
Magmadroth would be amazing, it's a proper chunker too. I'll keep this one in the back of my mind if I find a good way to make it work, cheers!
Now we need a raven guard riding a raven
or a death guard riding a death
@@newtybot let's get Nagash to kneel and be settled
Love this! Hits me in the nostalgia, as i used the old Dark Elf Cold Ones to make my Dark Angels commander ride a lizard instead of a bike
That's awesome, I've been looking into some more lizards as well 😃
Xzibit would love this video. "Ay, yo, I put a Salamander on a salamander so you can Salamander on a salamander while you're Salamandering."
I was really tempted to use "Pimp my ride" but allegedly the network that owns the rights to that is very aggressive with their take downs.
Awesome job! I've always loved the salamanders and i jusst so happened to love the kroot salamander when he got released
Dude! Those eyes of the salamander. Beautiful painted. The whole pice is epic.
Dino Riders! this is awesome my friend and happy New Years
Happy New Year mate
Wow, really cool! Thanks for showing the Kalamandra, I really want to do an Aeldari ranger riding on top of it for an Exodite army
Hell yeah! Exodites are far too underrated.
happy new year and what a sick model, might have to steal that idea for a hydra for my alpha legionaries

I think you're spot on with the rib cage idea, but I think it's far to say that is WAY out of my skill range, hopefully soon!

Happy new years from aus mate! Bloody good video
Cheers mate!
Dark angel riding a Lion? 😂😂😂
You can use sandpaper for the scales
This is a great idea, executed with grace. Brilliant.
Nice, something Warhammer that peaks my interest

That sounds really cool. Frozen planets are quite underrated and tend to look really eye catching.
i will try this, for my salamanders, use them as outriders! :D
This is such a great idea and a really awesome kitbash!
Next Time: "A Blood Raven on a Salamander."
Why
OHHH
That's awesome. I guess any space marine chapter could have these if you use the Outrider rules for them. I'm tempted, but that's an awful lot of money for one unit. This was a great idea, and it looks perfect. Thanks for sharing!
A Blood Angel riding a giant bat. Borrow a Vampire Courts Terrorgheist or something.
imo should have made him some stirrups and leather straps, maybe from some bike and/or green stuff.
great idea great execution . for greenstuff scale pattern tho there are easy tutorials on youtube . one is just roll up small greenstuff balls in different sizes , flat them out and they make a scale pattern
It would be awesome if the salamander on a salamander was also carried in a imperial guard salamander
This looks so sick I almost want to steal it
Make a Minotaur riding a Minotaur
“Where we going, Thunder?”

This looks amazing, well done! I wonder how it would look with scouts on them…
Yo dawg we heard you like salamanders so we put a salamander on your salamander! 😂
Nice kitbash and happy new year! 🎉
Really cool 👍

That's a brilliant idea wit the pegs, would have looked great on him.

i understand the reasoning for the green armor...BUT STILL THOUGH
I got some 3rd party space marines on bikes.
I'm going to turn them into an Outrider Squard of Salamanders
If we ever cross paths in this great, wide world, maybe your Chaplain can lead my Outriders "INTO THE FIRE! AND ONTO THE ANVIL!"
When the kroot get a salamander before the Salamanders
would love to see you revisit the sharks OR work up some olive drab magic with the raptors
If you want salamander skin buy lyche berries. The skin when dry can be nicely glued
Yo that’s a super sick idea, nice thinking
That's a brilliant idea! I think molding them would also work really well, I'll have to see if I can find some.
@ not sure where you live but lidl has some right now
Been dreaming of putting Catachans on lizards as rough riders for years
Immediately sold
Crap the bas it doesn’t look too bad

This is great. That tripod marine had me worried.
You should definitely do an Ultramarine riding a Codex Astartes next. Leandros specifically.
I also did this for my deathwatch army
I happen to be making a successor chapter that's a mix of Salamanders and white scars... Maybe they WON'T be riding bikes now.
What kit is the salmander lizard from?
Kroot lone spear
cool kitbash!
Absolutely great vid and model, but during the showcase the salamanders face appears blurry and out of focus due to its closer proximity to the camera, you should adjust your focal length as it does hamper that final satisfaction for a watcher.
I’ve been waiting to see a space marine kitbash using that Kroot kit. It being 40 usd kinda turned me off from trying.
Im stealing that idea
In my pile of shame there are 117 miniatures and some 15 vehicles, so in total there are 132 models
Now we need a White Scar on a mechanical horse or something lol
Next do a Kahl riding a boulder
Nice, now get an even bigger salamander and them put the salamander on salamader on a salamander
Awesome job ! May i ask what wash dd you use for that green boy (nuln oil ?) ?
Hear me out. You take a Raven Guard and put them on a great eagle and make a Raven Guard riding a great raven. You could take a head from one of the chaos deamons and put it on the great raven
How about raven guard riding a raven 🐦⬛
Bro that is epic I did this to but I did much less sculpting I used the Chaplin on bike instead of an interscessor
He's cool looking, but whereas you were afraid he wouldn't read as a salamander now he doesn't really read as a chaplain. I think the mount and standard green shoulder pad and the second source of fire would have gotten you there, bonus points if you did a robes for him in scaled skin.
This is really cool but i don't believe this thing would survive the weight of a space marine on its back X)
It's about the same proportions as a thunderwolf but with a lot less fur.
I saw someone with this idea just recently on TikTok! Such a cool concept haha. 🦎
Put an Eldar on a dinosaur.
👍

I like it, but I feel the salamanders head is just to dark…….it feels like it should be a bit lighter, even if it is a bit of a brown colour.
