This song is so beautiful and haunting. I can definitely relate to the feelings of depression, dread, anxiety, and hopelessness that it conveys. It’s so relatable to anyone who deals with these issues, even if you didn’t grow up in a shack. Love Chris Knight and REK ❤
There is something about Chris's voice that touches me deep inside, no idea why - I am a middle aged white man from England!! I have every album of his I can buy and will be buying a ticket to the USA (no matter who is President) to see him play live. I will then be able to die happy.
You basically have 2 different formats to see Chris play live. Acoustic and preforming with a band . See Chris in a smaller venue , acoustic. Get a seat up close if possible . He has been available in the past to talk to and buy CD's, tee shirts etc. Thats why you go to see him in a smaller venue.
He’s as quiet, humble and as approachable as any man on the street. It was a real honour to talk to him backstage when we hired him to come up to Canada to play an intimate solo show at a local dive bar we have in town. Such a treat.
@@maskandvaccinefreeandproud2110 love the name man! Too many hide in fear of who they are and what they stand for these days; especially their faith in Christ! Chris Knight is as real as they come! I have never met him, but when I read comments like yours; it just confirms it for me! Take care up there....I've traveled a lot for work, and I have realized that there are good folks tucked away everywhere in my country and beyond!
This guy lives up the road a piece in Slaughters KY comes to BG to play every once and a while and plays a bar gig, any night he's playing it's packed to the fire marshall's limit
I'm from muhlenberg county my uncle Terry Bivins lives in slaughters right off the exit his momma runs a old antique store right there on the left going into sliders he runs a Car Lot called Bivins Auto Sales. When I seen your message it made me think that my Uncle Terry looks like Chris Knight
A great original talent from Kentucky... I was asked to describe him and the best I could manage was, imagine John Prine with bi-polar disorder. Anyway, a very special man with a true gift.
After meeting him that’s a pretty accurate description actually. Lol. He’s very quiet and mysterious with an air of being incredibly frightening if you were to wrong him. Lol. I wouldn’t want to find out what his limits are that’s for sure. But incredibly humble and approachable nonetheless.
I can totally relate, I've been a mess for my entire life. From a rough upbringing to addiction and incarceration. I've put the needle down but I still feel like I'm born to lose
@@mwe7681 I know that feeling man. I hope that someday soon you can find some peace man. That inner turmoil is enough to make me feel like quitting sometimes
I don’t think anyone else could have covered this song by Robert Earl Keen as well. I fn love Chris Knight. The Robert Earl Keen - Picnic album got my Pops and I through some very dark times. R.I.P. Pops
Nobody corrects a mistake like Chris Knight corrects a mistake. "Skies turn black......... yeaaaah." No one dares call him on it though. They're too scared.
Reminds me of a friend I know! When I listen to these songs that were shared with me..gives me a better understanding of his life and what happened along his way!
I love this song................mellow guitar........somebody telling a story, set to a guitar! Life's too fast....nothing wrong on Friday Saturday sitting and relaxing and watching the traffic drive on by.
If I'm Correct, Wasn't This On REK's Tribute Album? Picked The Best Guy To Cover This One. Love His Voice And His Bone Chilling Songs. If I Wanna Get My Head Straight And My Heart Feeling Better, I Turn On Some Chris.
thanks mengle-good stuff from CK,he's the one that makes you think about what's really going on today. i play about 25 of his songs and now i learned a new one today, thanks to you and REK.
Chris Knight is a great hillbilly poet and one helluva cover artist for being one of the best singer songwriters in the world. While we await his new album, maybe, he should make a cover album of some of his favorite songs. I recorded him covering 'Powderfinger", he did Johnny Cash's "Flesh And Blood" and now REK's "Undone". I'd love to hear him cover some John Prine, Jackson Browne or any of the other artists he credits as influences. About 10 more songs and I'd be one of the first in line!
Lowbridgehit. I'm right there with you. My parents health problems has taken my savings and this last year has been really hard. Chris Knights Little Victories has been a good song for me
@PabstPenrose I agree. It is great that we have the internet so small indy artist can been enjoyed but people just attack one another to try to prove they are more of a fan than the other guy.
Start with "The Party Never Ends:Songs You know From Times You Can't Remember". It has a lot of his best stuff on it. Pretty much anything REK does is pretty good.
I love his music. But I have been dealing with depression the last 6 months and this song is a little too dark for me. Too bad, I would have liked it in my former life I guess.
no but being an amazing Chris Knight song they are most likely 3 chors, very simple, just shows real music doesnt have to be complicated, this man is amazing!
+TBL-TTB originally it is get your guitar and play it till you figure it out. tab all over internet. he plays the same as Robert earl keen just I think he might be tuned lower
I've been playing it with A and G as the main chords, with D on the second "undone"s. Sounds about right but still working on it. Standard tuning. REK's chords did not match this recording.
Chris Knight doing a Robert Earl Keen song. My day just got better.
My exact sentiment as I hit rock bottom. Been sober ever since but still listen to this song once or twice a year so I don't forget why
This song is so beautiful and haunting. I can definitely relate to the feelings of depression, dread, anxiety, and hopelessness that it conveys. It’s so relatable to anyone who deals with these issues, even if you didn’t grow up in a shack. Love Chris Knight and REK ❤
I started listening to Chris Knight 10 years ago and haven’t stopped since.
There is something about Chris's voice that touches me deep inside, no idea why - I am a middle aged white man from England!! I have every album of his I can buy and will be buying a ticket to the USA (no matter who is President) to see him play live. I will then be able to die happy.
The media makes this country seem to be so much worse then it is. Come on over man if you come up by Chicago I'll show ya a good time
You basically have 2 different formats to see Chris play live. Acoustic and preforming with a band . See Chris in a smaller venue , acoustic. Get a seat up close if possible . He has been available in the past to talk to and buy CD's, tee shirts etc. Thats why you go to see him in a smaller venue.
Come to rural Iowa! Youll feel welcome. See the eastern rolling hills. The bread basket

So underrated, he is one of the finest artists I've ever heard

Will never understand why no one here in Owensboro books him. It’s a shame.
Chris Knight is one of the most legit musicians out there. Stay real everyone.
I'm sure we all can agree that Mr.Cris Knight is a very, very good singer, songwriter right on ? 🤠
I like the pain in his voice.
My neighbors have been listening to this song a lot!!!

Don’t get too carried away!!
Even though he didn’t write this song I absolutely agree. He deserves more a lot attention. He’s one of my favorite artists.
I can relate to this song so much. Sometimes you just can't seem to do anything right
Everyday in my life an all I see is black only suckin wind cause a few people told me they couldn't live without me

One of best damn songs ever
Pacman Markliff the REK version, love the night but hate the dark. Taking handles to my face

Beautiful performance.
That is a cool song all I can say 😎🔥
I'm speechless, and my eyes are filled with tears... God Bless you Mr. Knight 🙏🙏🙏
HOWDY Y'ALL, life long TEXAN, life long R.E.K. Jr fan. Y'all Chris Knight is carrying on the tradition. LET'S be his fans!
Knight does a great job of capturing the essence of the song even with the mistake. He has the ability to make you "see" the song much the same as REK
he is damn pro keeps it moving
I agree, Chris is carrying on the tradition of R.E.K. Jr
Say Quinn, are you by any chance related to one of my favorite bb players... Jeff Bagwell
he is a real pro so he made a mistake he just kept going great cover
quin, what "mistake?"
Its awesome to hear such poetic lyrics. This is what Americana music is at its best.
I love this song! Chris captures the essence of the song! His songs always have meaning behind them!
This man wrote the soundtrack to my life. Thank ya, chris.
Ain't that the sad truth. I can relate to just about every song he plays.
He's such a good story teller.
Robert Earl Keene wrote it but Chris puts the soul into it
I don’t think anyone else could have covered this song by Robert Earl Keen as well. I fn love Chris Knight. The Robert Earl Keen - Picnic album got my Pops and I through some very dark times. R.I.P. Pops
Nobody corrects a mistake like Chris Knight corrects a mistake. "Skies turn black......... yeaaaah."

Makes it better. Neil Young’s music is full of mistakes. Makes it more genuine.
Reminds me of a friend I know! When I listen to these songs that were shared with me..gives me a better understanding of his life and what happened along his way!
Enjoy is under rated. Love his music
Great singer/songwriter.He reminds me of a more countrified John Mellencamp. His style makes you visualize the song.
I love this song................mellow guitar........somebody telling a story, set to a guitar!
Life's too fast....nothing wrong on Friday Saturday sitting and relaxing and watching the traffic drive on by.
Saw Chris right before the pandemic. Seems pretty fitting.
Yet another excellent song from Mr. Knight.
My God!!!!! Beautiful!!!!

If I'm Correct, Wasn't This On REK's Tribute Album? Picked The Best Guy To Cover This One. Love His Voice And His Bone Chilling Songs. If I Wanna Get My Head Straight And My Heart Feeling Better, I Turn On Some Chris.
Yes, Robert Earl is who this song belongs to, but CK does it justice!
Love this song & Chris Knight's music
This song was made for Chris to sing
thanks mengle-good stuff from CK,he's the one that makes you think about what's really going on today. i play about 25 of his songs and now i learned a new one today, thanks to you and REK.
Robert Earl Keen wrote it, but this is a Chris Knight song.

Utterly love Chris Knight! Can anyone recommend an album as a good starting point for someone who is new to REK?
The Trailer Tapes I and II and Little Victories are his best. But they're all killer. Never heard him do a bad song!
New to REK? Get No. 2 Live Dinner.
Start with "The Party Never Ends:Songs You know From Times You Can't Remember". It has a lot of his best stuff on it. Pretty much anything REK does is pretty good.
+EADGBESTRAT good choice
"Live at the Ryman".

The song is better with the mistake than without.
HALFWAY IS FINE WITH ME ✋👶😁👽😇👹
Song about me
Any idea on the chords for this?
I love his music. But I have been dealing with depression the last 6 months and this song is a little too dark for me. Too bad, I would have liked it in my former life I guess.
He was a turnip trucker with a sawed off shoe, because he lost six toes out of Baton Rouge
I always thought the secret was bootlegging or drugs.
Y'all boys must not be from Texas ! Robert earl is king of red dirt
.
Dustin Gray rather call it Texas country. but either way it's the best music !
Yep south Texas
No matter who's in Austin bob wills is still the king
Amen my feller!!!. Sulphur Springs born
.San ANTONIO Raised
REL is in deed the King of Red Dirt, Mike McClure is his duke, Cody Canada his Muse, and Scott Copland the court Gesture
The secret is the same as mine was growing up. They were poaching animals to eat
You are welcome

D to G and sometimes C.
