JJK chapter 257 will most definitely focus on Yuji Itadori's power-up. Towards the end of JJK chapter 246, Yuji was seen landing a powerful black flash on Sukuna. This black flash was somewhat special, and it injured Sukuna greatly, and at the same time, ensured that Yuji reached a new level of power. The author clearly stated that Yuji has now entered an awakened state, however, what exactly his awakening has given him is not known just yet. This can go in any direction in the next chapter. but There is one suggestion that says Yuji can take Blood Manipulation to the very next level, like no other sorcerer has done before, and potentially manifest even a domain expansion. A blood domain could very well end up being deadly, and this could be key to defeating Ryomen Sukuna, the strongest sorcerer in history.

I don't really think many people, if any at all, ever wondered/cared about his back story and with nothing coming close to mentioning in the movies or comics that he went through anything epic would make the story about him feel extremely forced.

I think that innate talent of sukuna is actually due to eating his twin ..yeah they may ay soul is body body is soul but even without soul geto did attacked kenjaku .. while yuji did all that stuff without using sukuna power unlike naruto ..sukuna is not responsible for yujis black flashes or divergent fists or any physical prowess ..it was always yuji's innate potential .. sukuna was evil from start who the hell eats an embryo just cuz he is hungry and that too at that level ? And the biggest hint is kenjaku might be sukuna's ,yuji's father or mother may be ... kenjaku told a family story for takaba you all remember ? It’s not gonna be blood manipulation. Gege has clearly been setting up yuji as the only sorcerer who truly understands the soul(except for mahito). Hence the parallel of “I’m you” as he said to mahito. Yuji will get some ridiculous power that’s connected to souls.
It’s confirmed his cursed technique is Shrine. And the blood manipulation is just a side effect of being distant cousins to kamo clan and eating most of the death paintings
