Thank you. Love that Grinder.. the OG LP would be sick! I have my original cassette I bought back in the early 90's but I don't believe it's forst press.
I need to start listening to thrash metal again I bean listening to a lot of underground death metal lately I forgotten how much I like listening to thrash metal and heavy metal
Cool! Assorted Heap is a band I've been wanting to add to my collection for a while. 'Riders of Doom' is great but I prefer 'Deception Ignored'. That Protector album rocks, and the cover art is iconic. I hope to be able to pick up that Grinder album too at some point. I have 'Release from Agony" on an OG picture disc rhat doesn't sound terrible. Awesome video.
I think what I like about Riders of Doomis that it sounds more pure German thrash.. but I love that album you mentioned. That picture would be sick to have. I need this album on wax.
Guten Abend Missouri! Talking about thrash metal, there is no way around German thrash, the contribution of these bands simply was essential to this kind of music. My little insider tip: Warrant - The Enforcer, I always loved that one. 😎🤘
Nothing but good shit Steve! The only thing I don't have here is that Assorted Heap album, still looking for their stuff, very cool. That Assassin debut is also my favorite German thrash album, and a top 3 all time favorite thrasher! Love it so much. Great showcase man 🤟
Thanks Thomas! This was a fun video and it has been a Deutschland thrashing week everyday. Hope you find that Assorted Heep. Their 2nd album is awesome as well. Thanks for watching bro!
I have a reissue on yellow vinyl. It was actually my first vinyl record that I ever got, for my birthday back in 2015. At that time I wasn't even collecting vinyl yet, just CDs. At that time it was my favorite record ever, so I got it as a present. I didn't even had my own record player yet, but we had one in the living room.
@@mercyfulmetal7324 that's awesome. My first record I bought is Metallica Jump In The Fire on Music For Nations. I have never shown it on my channel.. but may in a couple of days.
Very nice Steve. Assorted Heap, great stuff. Kreator, Deathrow and Protector, all killers. And those Exumer and Iron Angel releases are cult classics imo. Not so familiar with Assassin. Cheers.
Hey brother, I’m glad that you spoke about Assorted Heap, not too many people even know about this band. After Assorted Heap was disbanded, they created a new band, it’s called Monster. Check it out, they’re still playing a decent stuff. 🤘
Great stuff! I grew up listening to most of these albums back in the late eighties. It wasn’t possible to buy original copies in Czechoslovakia at that time, so we usually listened to dubbed tapes or crappy polish bootlegs. German bands like Kreator, Assassin or Protector were pretty popular among the local metalheads. By the way, are you familiar with the following albums (all of them highly recommended)? Violent Force - Malevolent Assault Of Tomorrow (1987) Holy Moses - Finished With The Dogs (1987) Living Death - Protected From Reality (1987) S.D.I. - Sign Of The Wicked (1988) Paradox - Heresy (1989) Mekong Delta - Dances Of Death (1990) Depressive Age - First Depression (1992) Risk - The Reborn (1992)
Several you have listed there I am looking for. Paradox Heresy is on of my favorites in that list that I only have on dubbed cassette. I have Queen of Siam by Holy Moses but I'm looking for the album you listed. Great list you mafe!
@@stevesekora Yeah, I don't have some of those albums on CD either. 😞 Finished With The Dogs will be re-released on vinyl by High Roller Records on December 23rd, 2022. The last CD re-issue from 2016 is currently out of print. Heresy was re-released on vinyl by Diabolic Might Records this August. The last CD re-issue from 2007 is really difficult to find and the copies listed on Discogs are rather expensive. Today I tried to order the 2020 re-issue of that Depressive Age debut (criminally underrated gem) from German Amazon but that Risk album was probably never officially re-released.
@@seniledeathrasher2596 I'm listening to Depressive Age as we speak, never heard of this band until you mentioned it here...this is fantastic! Paradox is a holy grail for me.. which I stumbled on in a record shop a couple of years ago but had terrible scratches on the disc.
@@stevesekora The early Depressive Age albums were awesome (later they changed their style to more “alternative”), so it is quite weird that no metal youtuber ever mentions them. Sign Of The Wicked is another album from my list that nobody talks about. Back in my day, S.D.I. belonged to the most popular German bands in my town. Their style was usually referred to as speed metal, but it was rather different from Helloween, Chroming Rose or Blind Guardian (more raw, less melodic and with a bit of a punk attitude). Sign Of The Wicked is by far their best record. The other two albums from the eighties include some decent songs, but they are not that great as a whole (their comeback record from 2020 is an abomination that should be avoided at all costs).
Some nice stuff on your list.I have 12 of 13.Only the Assorted heap i havent...."Angel Dust-Into the Dark Past"..."Desaster-Churches without Saints"..."Final Breath-Of death and sin"......greets from Northern Germany.I saw Sodom on Friday here at the "Metal Hammer Paradise Indoor Festival"....never disappoints..even with a heavy sore throat he destroyed the stage...
That would be an awesome show for me too see. Sodom is one of the best. Angel Dust & Desaster and those albums in particular are great. I need to get copies of those albums.
Lots of favorites in here for me as wellS protector is too good for being as underground as they are. Assorted heap is sick I’ve heard the name but this is my first exposure. Oh man the first few exumer records are just absolute top tier thrash record. I saw Brian Arkham show that grinder album in the past and haven’t listened! i got homework
Killer stuff man bands I’m going to be checking out for sure!! Pleasure to kill release from agony and persecution mania are my faves as well. Did you like cracked brain by destruction?
Grinder's Dead End is an absolute banger. Side 1 is all killer. Still got my original LP. Very entertaining video.
