It’s not just the media but the Nigerians that come to the USA that give the misinformation of the country. On many occasions they portray and speak on the poverty in your country. They look down on Black Americans and tell us that we are spoil and have a sense of entitlement. Not all Black Americans have this mindset. Some of us understand what it means to work and are grateful for our blessings.

What a stupid and blinkered view. What percentage of the
population are living that way, .0000001% ?.
In the West people are paid unemployment allowances,
Housing allowances, some with free medical and free education. Nigeria can't even afford £20 minimum average monthly pay, and it is about £30,000 in the Uk. You want us to be jumping up for unproductive misplaced priorities. We just need security, electrity, erradicate corruption, invest in the productive areas and not in expensive cars, billions in useless official and private buildings. Do something to attract investors, by doing everything to eliminate banditry.

Why don't go back to your country to tell your leaders to do what is right for your people so that you also can come back home. Those houses you are seeing are main for individuals who hustle make money to build house of their taste. What are doing with your own money? To carry woman. You see your life.

I was in Nigeria two months ago, and the people worked very hard but struggled because of the currency. I found myself tipping very heavily in dollars to relieve the suffering. While this wealth is great, pay attention to what is currently happening. The government is for service and not for greed and to be made wealthy through corruption.

This video doesn't give me much hope about Nigeria's economy. It demonstrates that in Nigeria, there are two classes, the very rich (many who live abroad) and the very poor. The middle class is almost non-existent. To outsiders, you cannot live in Nigeria unless you are very wealthy or choose to live poor. I know...I used to live there. Nigeria needs an economic overhaul. To develop Nigeria, there must be a boost in developing local businesses. But that isn't happening (at least at the rate it should be happening to alleviate poverty). People are always looking for the "big opportunity" to make it. And when they get that opportunity, to remain stable, they must battle against economic tensions (e.g. a volatile Naira and high inflation) and even economic oppression (corruption). Its very difficult to build a business from the bottom up. Nigeria does not allow businesses to build a solid foundation that will ensure its longevity. Why are Ghana, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, and other Sub-Saharan African countries able to develop a growing middle class and the oil giant still embracing economic inequities? "Embrace economic inequities?" Well to me, this video says they are, and very proud of it.

I’m glad to see this video because I’m here visiting Victoria Island and I haven’t seen anything like in this video. I heard of Banana Island and never seen it because I heard you need a pass to see it .
